July 8, 20205 yr YdHQpUGlrNw I know this is like the third time I've mentioned THVC on this forum but her reaction to 'Like U Like' has actually sent me, her horror at Kimba's vocals and the dodgy lyrics I can't stop laughing at this lmao.
July 8, 20205 yr I think the look on her face was similar to mine when I heard it. Kimberley has very little talent other than standing pouting and this song really proves it. She sounds hideous, he sound hideous, the lyrics are embarrassing.......epic fail

She sounds hideous, he sound hideous, the lyrics are embarrassing.......epic fail  She was probs the worst singer in the group when they were active, although I saw the video of her at the Zedel in 2018 and she’s definitely better than Cheryl now (the times when you could hear her over her 10x louder backing singers )
July 8, 20205 yr She did a shaky vocal performance of One Day I'll Fly Away at the National Television Awards the year she performed.
July 9, 20205 yr I don't think I have seen this performance before, a real car crash. Not even sure what the worst- the vocals, the staging, the awkward dancing. I remember liking the song when it was released but hearing this back now, it really is awful and make no sense at all. Love the Vocal Coach though  Kimberley has very little talent other than standing pouting and this song really proves it. The shade! Kim was definitely the least singer in the band, but she can hold a tune. She just has a very specific voice that better suited to musical theatre. She always used to be my favourite in the band as well, such a lovely person.
July 9, 20205 yr The lyrics aren’t exactly a mystery, it’s essentially about sex and pleasing your partner in the way they like it, ha. It certainly wasn’t a good performance, not a good fit for an early morning slot either. Probably would have been somewhat better if they’d just lipsynced. Looking back, it was a bit of an odd collaboration and song choice for her. She was 29 at the time, which isn’t exactly over the hill lol, but she still gave off a more mature/sensible vibe, making the song seem juvenile for her. Nevertheless, this song gives Kimberley the distinction of being the only Girls Aloud member other than Cheryl to achieve a UK Top 10 single (#8!), so that’s something. Slightly painful that this out-peaked Can’t Speak French, The Loving Kind and Untouchable though.
July 9, 20205 yr Gosh this really was a product of that 2010/11 electropop era  It was a bop at the time but it is so trashy and that live performance is 100% worthy of the cringe. I feel like what's popular in the charts these days has definitely got a bit more sensible/serious than these days when a well timed held back release could easily go top ten

I’m not saying she’s not a nice person, I’m sure she’s lovely in real life, but she’s always lowkey struck me as a bit of a biatch in the group. I feel bad for her, she’s only in the media when she’s being asked about something one of the other girls is doing
July 9, 20205 yr I always liked Kimberley until she did a u turn about Nadine when she was on im a celebrity, she jumped on nadines popularity after bitching about her for ages and it put me right off her.
December 19, 20204 yr I don't remember this much from this time but it sounds good listening to it now, rather cheesy like much dance pop at the time.
December 20, 20204 yr Age has not been the kindest to the song. Edited December 20, 20204 yr by pippa
