I wonder if they'll make as much difference as in previous years though, given the ever-decreasing number of locations where they can be purchased?

I've heard alot of people are considering buying it this year (who wouldn't normally) down to the tracklisting. And if you can't find it in the hightstreet - there's always online

If you're going online to look for it, why not just download it in the first place? :P

You can't download the other tracks of the CD can you?

It really annoys me how the x factor release a crappy cover version every christmas and it still manages to get to no1 with high sales. That show is ruining music.
I hear Loud is projected to sell 235k by some rihanna stans, any official info?

I'm sure most supermarkets and such will sell it. The physical is still a force to be reckoned with when it's an X Factor/Charity single. Joe added over 100k in his first day and he was far less popular than Matt is.

I personally hope you're right though and Matt sells as little as possible [which seems unlikely]. As much as I like the guy and the song - it does NOT deserve to be the best selling single of the year and I wouldn't be surprised if it manages it what with having 3 weeks of sales.

May I have a P!nk update please?

Rihanna is absolutely massive at the moment. This era is surely even going better than GGGB did?! Just wow.
The Silence might go back up again abit later, she's on Alan Titchmarsh show tonight

I heard The Silence for the first time yesterday. Alex does have a really good, strong voice ... but this song is awful.

I can't believe JLS have fallen in the album chart despite having their own show on Saturday, I thought it would have climbed again to #3

LOL at JLS

Where are they in the chart? Surely going to have huge sales this week again, so the position isnt too important in the top 10, as long as its in the top 10 you know it'll have big sales round this time, especially this week.

Rihanna - Loud  Her best album, and it looks like her biggest album. She's the hottest star worldwide right now.

Which they also did, last year (so can be crossed out from both sides of the equation, as it were) - but there are fewer actual *record shops* now - hence my comment about fewer overall outlets.

13 Apples :D

Is Duffy still charting in the albums?

12+12

So Matt is on course on 500K-600K or so... GLAD for him...

The Silence  to #29, and Deluxe of her album  to #31 and this is only tuesday..not looking great for both of these.

Alan Titchmarsh doesnt really do anything, maybe a few places but could still potentially drop more then 10 places this week ..

Surprise surprise, negative Alexandra Burke posts and they come from Let It Snow! ;) :P

Wasn't it this time last year we had bad weather that was meant to harm Joe's physical sales?

Weather meant to take a tumble by end of week but what affect this might have is anyone's guess.

i'll admit i'm buying the cd of Matt this week and i haven't brought a non charity cd single since alanis morissette 'underneath' 2 and a half years ago.

Interestingly, I don't think this week will be the BIG album selling week (this week will still be really strong though) - next week will be the power week

Yeah I agree, I think album sales this week will be exceeded (or at least matched) by album sales next week :)
