December 14, 201015 yr i'll admit i'm buying the cd of Matt this week and i haven't brought a non charity cd single since alanis morissette 'underneath' 2 and a half years ago. You couldn't have picked a better single   Underneath is amazing.
December 14, 201015 yr Not negative just stating what i can see from the charts like we all do. :P Yeah this week will be strong, but next week will be the big 100,000K week for every album in top 10 i predict!
December 14, 201015 yr Not negative just stating what i can see from the charts like we all do. :P Yet surprisingly out of all the acts that dropped in the album chart, you chose to pick Alexandra
December 14, 201015 yr Looks like too many campaigns are saturating the X-Factor protest vote - Trashmen, Biffy original and CATM will probably all sell well but there'll be no taking down the X Factor winner now. It's got me thinking though, what was different about the Christmas number one when the Spice Girls dominated every year with really poor songs (although 2 Become 1 was ok)? It's all big labels capitalising on a week where sales go through the roof and X-Factor is now the face of corporate music. I just wish they'd make him sing a Christmas song instead of wheezing his way through an average Biffy track.
December 14, 201015 yr i'll admit i'm buying the cd of Matt this week and i haven't brought a non charity cd single since alanis morissette 'underneath' 2 and a half years ago. Yeah, me too. And I think even if people are not too keen on the single (personally I love it) they will buy the CD alone for his performance of First Time and Nights in White Satin. His best performances by a mile.
December 14, 201015 yr Yet surprisingly out of all the acts that dropped in the album chart, you chose to pick Alexandra  Yes because as you can see its one all-mighty drop, and considering its only in its second week its probably the worst case of dropping i can see on this weeks chart. I've downloaded 'When We Collide', could it hit 500,000? I wonder if it'll knock of LTWYL as #1 selling song of the year then :o Edited December 14, 201015 yr by Let it Snow
December 14, 201015 yr Author We are also expecting some bad weather towards the end of the week, apparently Scotland have ceased internet shopping, I think this mainly effects the supermarkets, I don't know how wide it is. It might do some damage to the physical.
December 14, 201015 yr It has 3 weeks of selling so it might take over Love the Way You Lie I really think it can, which is a shame, i dont know if i want it too or not. I bought both songs, Love the Way You Lie has been the biggest song of the year so makes sense to be #1. With When We Collide, only available for 3 weeks it cant really be called the biggest song of the year, but i really like Matt and maybe nice for a British artist to have the #1 at the end of the year of the UK chart, but i think Eminem & Rihanna should hang on to it..dont know, happy with either way i think! :)

December 14, 201015 yr I think this year it's such an interesting year in terms of sales. Normally the x-mas #1 would be a week later - but because it falls on a Saturday this year, it's moved everything earlier. Normally the X Factor single (and other christmas week singles) have the week before christmas and the week after christmas that ensure the majority of their sales. This year there's 2 weeks before christmas (near-enough) and the week after - the week after being a good sales point as sales normally go up further that week with new ipods to put music on, Itunes gift-cards to use, vouchers to use in shops etc. I'm saying this because usually the 3rd week of an X Factor winners single usually sees sales decrease alot - but they should technically remain high this time around

I wonder if it'll knock of LTWYL as #1 selling song of the year then :o Hmmm ok then *scratches chin* WWC will easily surpass 500k - in fact I think it'll also go past 600k. I'd predict somewhere around 550-650k, probably the upper range of that, I'd suggest 625k.
December 14, 201015 yr Not going to lie, I'm quite surprised at the success of 'Loud'! :o I just don't see Rihanna as an album artist personally!..
December 14, 201015 yr I've holded off buying "Loud" - I'm almost certain it's going to be re-released next christmas with new tracks to coincide with her tour

WWC is almost certainly going to shift around 600k this week, so it only needs 250k in the last 2 weeks, which given it will sell 600k first week and looking at Joe's/Alexandra's tail-offs for the last 2 X Factor winner's songs [Alexandra 576k-312k-104k i.e. 416k in Week 2+3; Joe 450k-195k-70k i.e. 265k in Weeks 2+3], it'll easily surpass that, and could even do it in Week 2. Fait accompli for WWC to be the year-end #1, not that it deserves it. :(
