Why are they all so high, considering the album wasn't released this week? :mellow: Is there an iTunes error or something, where you can't buy the album as an album, so instead you have to cherry pick them to create your album? Maybe why she's losing the battle to Plan B in the mids... :unsure: (A Similar thing happened to Cheryl Cole '3 Words' last year iirc - but that happened release week...)

 

Considering Loud is #1 on iTunes albums that seems unlikely :kink:

 

As Ben said it'd be because Plan B is discounted (also he was on Jools Holland I think?)

Looking at the chart, some album tracks hang around for ages and ages. Like Wonderman by Tinie Tempah and Ellie Goulding is #262, Won't Back Down by Eminem and Pink is #466, Coming Home by Pixie Lott and Jason Derulo is #468, and these were all released ages ago. Infact, Won't Back Down was released in June, and has never left the top 1000 on iTunes. I guess some album tracks just keep selling for some reason.

But they don't have ALL their album tracks (bar the ones that are "album-only" - i.e. 'Love The Way You Lie (Part II)') in the top 300 (with one entry in the top 400...) It just seems strange...

True, I guess. Perhaps Rihanna's album's page on iTunes is just getting visited so much that there's inevitably a lot more cherry-picking going on as a result? I don't know really. It seems like half her album has been played on the radio at one point or another too, so that will no doubt help a little bit.

Not everything is going to stay in the same rigid order, after all. Obviously more people just wanted to buy Katy B and Nicole Scherzinger than the rest of the songs around them at the present time. No need to overanalyse it... old songs change order all the time on iTunes but obviously the effect is exaggerated when not many new releases are out to climb above them too.

 

And obviously successful albums are going to have their songs cherry-picked weeks after release. Not everyone is so on top of things/follows the music scene so closely they'd do it on the very first week x album is out.
