Loon logic is so hilarious. Weren't you all throwing massive fits that it wasn't available for download in the first place? And now you've got what you wanted, it, uh, is a screwed-up release just because your idol isn't #1 and crashing iTunes. Who says she would have done so anyway under the 'perfect' release? Does the X Factor winner even crash iTunes? (Genuine question.)

 

Britney is big here but not THAT big. She'll do well to get to #1 on iTunes, but that doesn't necessarily mean she isn't going to sell a lot more in the long term.

I'm guilty of Brit looning, but I agree with Tyron! She's just not doing as well as we expected, and we have to face it! As much as I want her to be number 1, I'm not blaming the release, because me and practically everyone else was begging to have it now. You got your wish and you're still not happy :wacko: We should be grateful we don't have to wait for months like we did with Ke$ha!

adele's on alan carr tonight and performing too so she'll get a nice boost from that. i really hope she gets #1 this week

Wikipedia claims that the video will be filmed in the 3rd week of January - which is basically now...

Britney won't be #1 yet, the "intense demand" is just from the fans, which is fair enough. The general public would have barely heard it, no video or sufficient airplay yet

This song hit #1 in 17 countries and it had no airplay or promotion either.

And most of UK's magazines and papers is writng about the song, she's actually getting a lot of promotion from the press and she's top 40 in airplay.

You forget to mention that it was released in these 17 countries, on the same day, when there was a massive amount of hype on the net.

I don't get it, why were people expecting Britney to immediately go to #1? I mean, she's not had a #1 here for SEVEN YEARS, nevermind a #1 before promotion has even started! She's nowhere near as big here as she is in the States. When has a song EVER gone to #1 on UK iTunes within a week of it leaking and before a video is out?

I definetely think it will be top 5 on sunday with no airplay promo or video which is amazing. Its a certain Number 1 imho. Its a way better tune than Bruno and ADELE just needs people to hear it and see it.

That Manran song is an attempt to get a Gaelic song into the Top 40 for the first time on downloads. I've had a listen, it's actually quite good! It's up to #64 aswell

Of course, if you include Irish Gaelic as well, it would be the 2nd track to make the top 40, after Clannad's 'Theme From Harry's Game,' and the third if you also include Saltwater by Chicane (which is based around said song).

Britney Spears will be number one, just not this week though. ADELE will have to deal with another number 2 behind Bruno Mars "Grenade" which I can see another 2 weeks at number one. Am surprised to see Aggro doing this well, I thought it'd flop massively. Good to see Wretch and Diddy doing well

Yeah I agreed, with no TV/radio airplay it's doing really good. After Glee top 5 peak is pretty sure.

I still think that this early release is totally unnecessary. They should left it for February ...
