Oh yeah, you are right (polyhex actually).

So thats just Elvis, the Beatles, Westlife and Rhianna then?

And it is one or more per year as the source quotes Elvis as the previous solo act to do this. He had more than one in some years.

Plus The Shadows, also 5 consecutive years; 1959-1963.

Cliff Richard sort of did and sort of didn't manage the same five years. He WAS #1 for at least a week in each of those five years, but to include 1960 AND 1961, you'd need to include 'I Love You', which managed two weeks at the top, straddling the end of 1960 and the beginning of 1961. So, five years covered by four songs. That's sort of cheating, isn't it?

That sounds fair enough about Cliff Richard, I guess.

EDIT: Actually no, it can't be, or else they'd've mentioned Cliff Richard along with Elvis Presley. So I guess it has to be different songs then.

I only see 4 years(1960-1963) for the Shadows alone. The 1959 hit 'travellin light' is billed as 'Cliff Richard and the shadows'.

So it's debatable whever that counts.
