Adele.

Great to see David Guetta/Rhianna picking up momentum finally. ^_^

And people are saying Adele has had little airplay?
WTF is going on with Adele? It entered at #15, then vanished entirely and now it's apparently a new entry at #3? I don't think so
It seems obvious to me that Nielsen f--ked up with Adele last week. There is no way it fell out of the top 100 from 19 when it was already A-listed on Radio 1 and Radio 2. It was also number 8 on last week's Radiomonitor chart http://www.ukairplaychart.com/ - unofficial, but usually very similar. It's actually more accurate as it tracks more stations.
Where's Martin Solveig & Dragonette's "Hello" please?

Depends what stations are playing it.

Depends what stations are playing it.

It doesn't matter, radio airplay clarts are based on AI, not spins.

Yes i know that. Some artists though have loads of spins and lower audience, I guess having more spins is better as people may have the radio on but may not be listening (In work or something) Having more spins increases chances of being heard.

No Jessie J & yet she is looking at #2 officially? You go girl!

IIRC Jason Derülo's In My Head wasn't even top 50 the week it was #1 on sales.

Shows how powerful the song is! Some stations aka, Radio 1 are too snobby or stuborn to play some songs by artists aka, Alexandra Burke <_<

What does this have anything to do with the post you were replying to...?

Also I feel it's a bit unfair that everyone hates on Radio 1 for sometimes snubbing pop acts (but they do playlist them most of the time), yet the complete refusal to play anything with even the slightest hint of rap in it on some other radio stations seems to go comparatively unnoticed :drama: But hey

The only songs in the top 10 I like are Firework and What's My Name? :(

I haven't even heard Rolling in the Deep yet! :o I guess I must've just constantly been in the wrong place at the wrong time! I mean, I've probably heard Just the Way You Are and Firework like 50 times last week, seriously! :o

Yes, Radio 1 should playlist Alexandra (who doesn't even need the support, she got a #1 single without R1 ffs) over someone with a smaller fanbase who could actually benefit from the greater exposure :| This logic does not compute with me.

And Jessie J is only just starting to pick up airplay on some stations. Up until now most of her support has been from Radio 1 and the more genre-based stations (like 1Xtra), TV support, plus the Sound Of/BRITs hype etc. Mind you, it probably won't get too high anyway as it's hardly the most radio-friendly song plus R1 will probably drop their support of it soon in favour of 'Price Tag'. I am a tad surprised Capital has given it only lukewarm support though as I thought it would be the type of song they'd bum to high heavens :o

On another note, some stations really need a god damn clearout of their playlist. That top 10 is so stale (even more so than usual).

I agree, the top 10 is completely ancient. :( Seriously, that top 10 makes chart music look dreadful (or more dreadful ).

About the Alexandra thing, I think the reason people find it bad is just that Radio 1 have basically said they're not going to playlist her. With most other artists, it kind of like "Oh, we'll playlist you if we like your song", but with Alexandra, they've basically admitted that they're not going to playlist her, no matter what. She could come out with an absolute masterpiece, and she would still not get playlisted.

But you're correct about Alexandra not needing Radio 1's support at the moment. All Night Long got to #1 on the airplay chart. Yes, sure, Radio 1 playlisting her would've helped, but in that case, and with Start Without You's case, I think them playlisting a song that commercial radio would ignore was more beneficial.

I'm also surprised Capital haven't been playing Do It Like a Dude more. Usually when a song goes top 10 on the Big Top 40 Show (that's not by Glee Cast), they're very likely to play it more. I've heard Price Tag on there though!

Yay, go Caro and Adele  Though Brit would be higher tho tbh :(
