 You are actually hilarious.

Erm, thanks? Seriously though, I don't think those people deserve the hate they get at all. Like with Susan Boyle. At first everybody was like "Oh, she's quite nice. She surprised me", then she's all over the news worldwide, then next thing I know everybody hates her. Susan Boyle would not have been hated if she didn't become a phenomenon. The poor woman herself didn't really do anything wrong. All she did was go on a talent show and sing, then the media blew her all out of proportion over the entire planet, and then everybody suddenly hates her. At first it was "She's a relatively good singer". Then a couple of weeks later "Susan Boyle is the worst singer I've ever seen. She just can't sing!" Susan Boyle's singing skills did not change. What really happened is that Susan Boyle got overrated by the media, so the general public got annoyed, and underrated her singing in order to compensate.

But the worst thing of all is why did they direct the hate at Susan? She's not really done anything wrong. I wouldn't have expected her to go on stange and say "Hey guys. I'm not actually that good at singing. Stop liking me please". The hate should've been directed at the media, not at Susan Boyle. I agree that she was over-hyped, but it's not her fault.

But whatever. In the world of this forum, Lady Gaga is apparently hated in general, and Justin Bieber is apparently loved, so I don't take everything here too seriously.

You are going off on a complete tangent now, waffling on about nothing (as you do about 80% of the time).

First of all, to clarify, I didn't put haters in brackets because I think Justin Bieber is widely loved. I did it because I think it's a stupid word and implies intense feelings that most people who make the nasty comments really don't have. I do it pretty much every time I use it (though preferably I don't use it at all, but sometimes it's necessary like it was when I was replying to you).

Secondly, EVERYBODY in the media gets at least some hatred. It comes with the territory. When you get put out to millions of people all the time not everyone is going to love you. I did feel somewhat sorry for Susan Boyle because it was pretty clear she couldn't really deal with it at first, hence why there were stories about her supposed "outbursts" not long after she entered Britain's Got Talent. I'm not sure what her situation is now but hopefully she's better at ignoring it than she was back then.

But really, going back to Bieber. He entered the music business because he wanted to be a singer. He gets to perform to thousands of people every time he goes on stage, doing what makes him happy. Yeah, he gets some nasty comments, but somehow I don't think he lets them get to him too much when he's happy doing what he wants to do in his life every time he goes up to perform. If anything, it probably motivates him to prove them wrong. So there's really no need to feel sorry for him of all people, when there are people out there less fortunate and less happy.

Firstly, thanks. I'll go and post one-liners like everybody else does then, instead of doing my 80% waffling.

My post wasn't irrelevent, because I was drawing analogies between Susan Boyle and Justin Bieber, and why they're both so hated, despite not really doing that much wrong. Susan Boyle was more appropriate to use because we saw her from the start, how everybody had generally medium feelings towards her originally, but it all turned to hatred after she was all on the news.

Secondly, I agree that Justin Bieber is good at ignoring his haters, in all fairness. I'm kind of happy for him that he's got such a devoted fanbase, because he can focus all his time on them, and hopefully many of the vile things the haters say won't ever reach him (although some people do seem desperate to show him that he's hated, even throwing things at him and such).

And according to this poll, 78% of people hate Justin Bieber. http://www.quibblo.com/quiz/bTWFAMG/Do-you...e-Justin-Bieber

Why? Obviously he's so hated because he's always saying nasty things about people, he thinks black people should be slaves, he thinks gay people are akin to animals, he wants to kick all muslims out of the US, and he beats up women. Oh wait, he doesn't do that. He's hated because he has a high voice, sells more than he deserves to, is over-confident and a lot of teenage girls are obsessed with him which annoys people.

That's a fine enough reason to hate him as far as I'm concerned.

I'll be willing to take him more seriously when he starts sounding like his gender. Maybe his next lead single might actually be decent. I'm not expecting anything though.

Well, I'd rather read one post that's straight to the point and still useful, than one that I have to trawl through god knows how much crap just to get to the main idea of it :P Don't get me wrong, I like to read a lengthy post that's well-written and well-argued, too, but ones that just feel like waffling really do just p*** me off.

And there's really no need to go on about how Justin Bieber doesn't deserve to be hated. I've never disagreed with that (actually I agree with you, and think he is hated for stupid reasons, but then so is pretty much every person in the media, at the end of the day). All I was saying is that there's no need to feel sorry for him because of it, just like there's no need to feel sorry for anyone else in the spotlight for the same reasons - unless it's pretty clear that it's affecting them. These people really do have thicker skin than you think.

P.S. That poll you linked to only has 162 votes. That's not a strong enough sample size to draw any real conclusions from it :D

Um..... okay.....

You do know he can't fully control what his voice sounds like? It's a bit different with the over-confidence thing, because he could change that with some effort (although even if he can't, being overconfident isn't enough to warrant the mockery he receives). The selling more and teenage girls things are out of his control to be honest. Like witht he Susan Boyle analogy I used, I don't think it's fair that Justin Bieber has to deliberately lose a lot of his fans to become favourable with the general public.

Sorry, I just had a friend at school who had cystic fibrosis (if that's how you spell it?), so he started puberty like 5 years later than average, and his voice started breaking when he was 17. It was so sad, because the whole situation was completely out of control, yet, you know, a lot of the people who were gifted with more testosterone than him felt okay to mock him about it. The worst thing was he was literally the kindest person ever (to the extent that it actually got annoying at times, as I sometimes just wanted him to say "No", to people if he didn't want to do something!). To be fair, he said he said he was offered hormal injections if he wanted, but he decided to let things happen naturally. So maybe he could've had his voice go deeper earlier, but still, I think having a high voice is just such a stupid reason to get hated.

So yeah, my blood kind of boils when I see someone say they hate Justin Bieber because he has a high voice (although I know that's not exactly what you said). Just incase anybody is wondering why I'm getting so worked up about this. I'm not personally annoyed with anyone here.

Well, I just went and found the first poll I found from google. I guess all the polls would have similar results though.

Was that succint enough?

but you surely can't deny that the fact he is an over-confident, rude little brat is a good enough reason? if he wasn't so dam arrogant, he may be a little less hated than you say

Maybe. But as another poster was saying, pretty much every celebrity is hated to an extent anyway. I just think with Justin (and a few other artists I've mentioned) it's WAY ott. It seems the biggest crime an artist can do (apart from full on extreme things like murder) is be overrated. And the sad thing is, it isn't the artist that overrates themselves anyway. It's the people giving their overrated opinions on the artists. And then with Justin Bieber, people keep whining about how annoying his fans are, and how high his voice is. It seems having a fanbase of teenage girls is also quite a big crime, and gets you hated. Again, not the faults of JLS, Bruno Mars, Justin Bieber, etc.

And I don't think he's that rude. Sure, he's done some things, but I've seen just as bad from less-hated celebs.

I agree with the point about being hated for having a fanbase of girls as I hear it all the time.. "JLS are only successful because girls fancy them" and I personally think Justin gets way too much hate, but at the same time I really don't think he cares too much. If anything he probably doesn't even go online to read articles, blogs etc.. Why does he need to ?

He's living his dream, has thousands of fans worldwide and is making a lot of money.. all at the age of 16. Really nothing to feel sorry for him about

Artists know what they are getting themselves into when they enter the music business.. and if they can't handle it then they really are doing the wrong job

The more successful they are = the more hate

I'm sure most of them would rather be successful and have haters rather than not be successful at all

British:

THINK - Ellie

WANT - Tinie

International:

THINK - Bruno

WANT - Justin

(Ke$ha should have been nominated for International.) -_-

Lol do people really believe Justin Bieber won't be around in a few years time? LOL

Out of all the acts in the list he'll be the only one we're still hearing about in 10 years. Like or loathe he's f***ing massive, and there's a huge gap in the market for a male popstar. If his marketing team know what they're doing then he'll be bigger than he already is.

If that's not a joke, then you ate my space muffin! His fanbase is based on little girls! Those little girls will grow up (and understand that bieber's music is not music) and stop following him! A new "wannabe" pop star will come out and no more Bieber! How many times we have seen this happening?

British - Think - Tinie

- Want - Tinie/Mumford and Sons

International - Think - Bruno Mars

- Want - Bruno Mars

I think Tinie is going to clean sweep this year and i do think he deserves it. But i do like Mumford and Sons so i wouldnt mind if they did.

I really cant see Bieber winning, Bruno is too huge atm

I want Ellie to win Brttish

But Tinie will win it. :puke2:

I want bruno mars to twin and i think he will, so happy days :D

British -

Think - Ellie.

Want - Mumford/Tinie.

International -

Think - Bruno.

Want - Glee/Bruno.
