"Start Without You" was a previously unavailable song that got great TV support and good radio support before its official release. "The Silence" got minimal support all round sans the X-Factor performance and was already available on the "Overcome" album for ages.

And 'doesn't matter if you're gay, bi or straight' is probably the most cringeworthy lyric ever.

Yeah. I never got why Radio 1 don't support him. (Not that he needs them!) but his singles are usually always hits and have lengthy chart runs, despite that.

 

Going off at a tangent - does the hypocrisy irritate you when, during the chart show, Reggie says how wonderful some comeback artist is, while glossing over the fact they are snubbing their current song. If an artist is really that great, they why on earth are you ignoring them... :(

Yeah. Also the whole artist thing. Like how they seem to have a list of artists that they'll never playlist. I think they actually admitted they never intend on playlisting Alexandra Burke and Enrique Iglesias, and there's others I guess are in a similar boat, such as Shakira. I think the reasons they gave were "we can leave it up to commercial radio to play MOR pop songs" or something. And that's fair enough. All Night Long got to #1 on airplay without Radio 1 contributing (much). However, they playlist MOR pop songs by other artists, and I don't like the whole idea that Alexandra, Enrique, etc. could make a really interesting song, and it wouldn't get playlisted, because it's them.

 

That said, if a song gets to #1, it's basically C-Listed, in a way, since a #1 is very likely to get at least 5 plays during the week.

She's been involved in the making of a lot of my favourite songs recently, so I'm very curious as to what she's like. I See Taio/Kylie/Travie hasn't entered top 1000 yet. For some reason both versions are merged together from the iTunes download

I actually really like the Kylie + Travie version of Higher :o Travie really only contributes a middle 8 to it, which I can live with, but all of Kylie's input on the verses and choruses remain intact :D

It is released, i downloaded the single from itunes and it has travie/kylie on the main single

It is. I just downloaded it - seems it's made no impact on the top 1000 so far... :(

I'm surprised that iTunes haven't added both versions of 'Tonight' by Enrique. If they only add 'Tonight (I'm f***in' You)' and not the radio friendly 'Tonight (I'm Lovin' You)' then I can't see Enrique getting to no. 1 so looks like Bruno Mars may return at no. 1 after all.

 

Unless Jessie J 'Price Tag' gets a big boost in the next 24 hours. As for Yasmin, I never expected 'On My Own' to be a massive hit anyways so no shock there.

They have added both, it's just that the explicit version is selling better at the moment.

I'm glad to see Jessie J off to a good start, hopefully it can get at most top 20 this week. :D
