Sorry if it's been mentioned already, but I cba to read the whole thread - Mumford & Sons - The Cave!

I didn't realise until the tenth time or so that I heard the song (which would have still been before the end of 2008 :P I heard it a long time before it got big) that it even said 'cave' in that song.

It says 'your cave' but not 'the cave'.

are you serious? :P

Umbrella only mentions Umb-erella

Others

Rod Stewart - The Killing Of Georgie

Pink Floyd - Another Brick In The Wall Part II

Suede - Metal Mickey

Sugababes - Ace Reject.

Supposedly this track got it's name after the girls rejected it, but the record label thought it was one hell of a reject and put it on the album

The Cure: "Primary," "Lovesong," "Lullaby," "The 13th," "Mint Car," "The Caterpillar," "A Letter To Elise," "In Between Days."

Baz Luhrmann "Everybody's Free (To Wear Sunscreen)."

...and any instrumental track ever made :D

Pulp "Babies," "Disco 2000," "Party Hard"

Bjork "Hyperballad," "Bachelorette"

Peter Kay "The Official BBC Children In Need Medley"

Eric Prydz "Niton (The Reason)" - never says Niton

Swedish House Mafia "One (Your Name)" - never says One

Florence & The Machine & Dizzee Rascal "You Got The Dirtee Love" - never says that phrase

Gareth Gates/Robson & Jerome/Righteous Brothers "Unchained Melody"

Queen "Bohemian Rhapsody"

Gym Class Heroes "Cupid's Chokehold" - the closest it gets is "Cupid got me in a chokehold"

Panic at the Disco "I Write Sins not Tragedies"

Yolanda Be Cool & D Cup "We No Speak Americano"

Gary Numan "Are Friends Electric" ???

Some of them may have been mentioned

You know I hate to ask

But are 'friends' electric?

Only mine's broke down

And now I've no-one to love

Lauryn Hill - Ex-Factor

Savage Garden - Affirmation

The Beautiful South - Pretenders To The Throne

Supergrass - Richard III

Portishead - Glory Box

Moby - Porcelain

Mya - Case Of The Ex

All of these reached the top 20, and none of them have the whole title mentioned in the song (and I think only Mya has even a word of the title mentioned, iirc).

Btw, perhaps the list in the first post should be put in alphabetical order by artist for easier reference? If it's not too much work...

Buck Rogers is mentioned in the song. It is shouted by the band after the first chorus.

All of Snow Patrol's 'Final Straw' album, bar Run, Same and Half the Fun.

will do :)

And I don't think 'Breathe' has the word Breathe in it too

It says 'breathe the pressure' a few times. And 'breathe with me'

It sounds like bring the pressure, but anyway

To be fair, Katy Perry does say 'Extra Terrestrial' in E.T. - which is what E.T. means, so she does say it.

Just saying, scraping the barrel a bit.
