I'm eagerly awaiting Mutya Buena's comeback [it is happening again apparently], she has new management again and is supposedly recording new material :w00t:

Also, I'm literally so excited for Keisha Buchanan's solo debut. If Fearless is the standard of the rejects then the album is going to be a solid 12/10 moment.

After a new Mutya album, a KB solo debut i'd like to see the Origibabes reform and hammer the Sugafakes in the charts.

@Shindymindy. I don't think you can call the 8th 'Sugababes' album a comeback seeing as they've been away from the spotlight for all of 10months.

I think her time has been and gone now tbh.

Unlike most of the other artists named on this thread? :P

Reading the comebacks thread made me think - what artists would you like to see making a massive, unexpected comeback?

Here's some of mine:

Ashanti - was de rigeur on anything rap/urban that did well in 2002. Had some decent singles out. Most recent big success was 2006.

Maroon 5 - flopped last year but I think they still have it in them to produce another quality hit single (tbh Misery wasn't bad but it was no This Love).

R Kelly - I dislike a lot of his records but it would be interesting to see him back near the top of the charts. 'Ignition' was massive nearly five years after IICTBTHOT and seven years after his last (crap) #1. So he's due a #1 in 2011...

Girls Aloud - they've just sort of fizzled out. It's only been 2 1/2 years but that's a long time in pop. I'd like to wait a year or two and see what they come back with.

Franz Ferdinand - had some success in 2009 but nothing on the scale of their 2004 debut. A storming single from FF would be brilliant.

Kaiser Chiefs - another band that seem to have just petered out in terms of popularity. Granted, they weren't doing much different on their third album than their first. But that never stopped lots of bands before. Ruby may have been #1 but I'd prefer a string of singles like the ones off 'Employment'

Blu Cantrell (well, why not?)

David Sneddon and Steve Brookstein - even if just for the lols.

Any Britpop-era band to reform and have one big hit. Sleeper, maybe? Elastica? Or a #1 for the Bluetones?

And, finally, some random early 2000s acts - say Papa Roach, Sarah Whatmore, Sarah Connor, Sum 41, tATu, Nina Sky!

RKelly is one of those artists that won't ever have a consistent, high selling career in the UK (too much baggage and ridicule) but is always capable of popping up out nowhere to have a big hit. Who'd have predicted 'Ignition' would be as huge as it was for example.

I liked Maroon5, they remind me of my college days, but I can't see where they'd fit in today's market, they are too bland.

Girls Aloud would have a hit with anything should they decide to reform, they were still gaining sales and growing their fan base when they went on hiatus.

the act I really want to see comeback is Christina Aguilera, she is a massive talent with a massive voice...but its all gone wrong in recent years, so far wrong that one more flop album could really end her career. Her next single has to be a top-class worldwide smash.

I'd also like to see the Killers return and kick on from being a band with a decent fanbase that gets a lot of radio play...to being the worldwide 'U2 Sized' Rockband they can be.

Comebacks i don't want to see:

Same Difference

Scooch

Tweenies

Comeback:

Justin Timberlake (His own material)

Sophie Ellis Bextor... She's like a ghost in UK..

Roisin Murphy

Annie

Lily Allen

Dido

Maroon 5

KT Tunstall

Anastacia

Stereophonics

Feeder

The Corrs

I forgot Rachel Stevens

I've been waiting for so many years for Justin Timberlake to bring out a new album, he's a legend in my eyes. His futuresex/lovesound album is my favourite album of all time probably, not one track I dont like.

He can do everything, sing, dance, upbeats, ballads, write, produce, act = legend. :D

Id love to see the Corrs comeback again and Gina G, i loved her first album and got screwed over by her record label that messed things so so big for her so i hoipe she can back and have hits again although i cant see it happening unfortunatly.
Still waiting for Adele to make a comeback but nothing on the horizon yet it seems!!!! Lol
Robbie Williams

? He has just been involved in the fastest selling album and tour of the century!

with that in mind I don't think he has done too bad this year LOL

S Club 7

S Club Juniors :kink:

What happened to Rachel Stevens? :(

also his last album and singles could be considered a return to form after Rudebox.

I think Robbie has found his new 'level' now, once he leaves Take That he'll return to having album sales on a par with 'Reality Killed' but won't achieve the heights of 'Sing When Your Winning' again. His 2nd Take That spell should mean his confidence is back to do big live shows again though.

also his last album and singles could be considered a return to form after Rudebox.

I see it more as a downfall. RKTVS was incredibly boring in comparison to 'Rudebox', which in my opinion is the greatest collection of material he's ever released.

completely agree i've never liked any of his stuff up until then. lovelight and she's madonna were both great, not sure about the song rudebox itself though. and then even bodies from his newest album was quite good

i'm sure it's been mentioned but the comeback i'm most hopeful for is amy winehouse. it's either be incredible or just a big let down but i don't really care right now i just want new music for her however good or bad it is. and luckily kate bush and bjork are making comebacks this year so if not i'll have them to tie me over until amy does release another album. that's if she even does.

also i know it's never gonna happen but i'd love it if moby would just sell out again and release a play part 2 sort of album full of advert friendly songs rather than the mellower stuff he's been releasing recently. though that seems to have happened to most of my favorite artists last albums :(

I'd like to see Green Day have a massive era, sort of King of Leon "Only By the Night" massive, maybe even an "American Idiot" style era again.
Dido

Maroon 5

KT Tunstall

Anastacia

Stereophonics

Feeder

The Corrs

THIS!

I love Feeder but their style of music just isn't popular anymore.

Call Out, Renegades and Down To The River/This Town all failed to dent the Top 200 and i think this charity single their releasing on Sunday will be in the same boat. :(

Hopefully the 8th album will be at leas bigger than this era...

Obviously commercial success has so far eluded him this era but My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy is arguably his best material to date.

No Doubt/Gwen Stefani. PLEASE COME BACK I NEED YOU.

I think the album sold over 500,000 first week in US? It definitely got to #1. Admittedly its bombed over here, Radio 1 just seem to have lost all interest in him following the Taylor Swift episode. Sad really, All of the Lights and Runaway could have been huge. I don't think he'll ever be as commercially successful here as he was during Late Reg / Graduation, but his US fanbase should keep him going nicely.

As for Gwen, she needs to stop getting preggers :(
