On the big Promise This vs. Only Girl week last year, Cheryl had sold 73,200 by Tuesday, and sold 157,000 in the end, and Rihanna sold 51,000 by Tuesday, and sold 126,000 in the end, so J-Lo will probably get something between those two figures.

OTF will be Pitbull's first #1. That seems a bit weird as he's appeared on so many big songs (ANL, ILI, DJGUFIL and his own IKYWM(CO)) but he always failed to reach the top spot until he teamed up with, er, Jennifer Lopez.

Yeah, he has done some massive songs though. I Know You Want Me got European #1, if that actually matters.

"can we have the j.lo forum back"

Chris and Regina have already asked admins!

Does anyone else thing adeles 1st sales update is a bit, err low? Going by the 3x rule she'd fall well under 150k this week which would be a shame. Thought she'd get a big mothers day boost and hopefully will still happen but it'll need to be at this rate.

What were her sales last week on tues/what was the sales pattern last mothers day anyone? Were things very backloaded?

There wasn't any sales info for 21 the last couple of weeks AFAIA. I was thinking it seemed a little low but it's still easily high enough to guarantee a 10th week in a row over 100k (that is absolutely insane) and Mother's Day sales are obviously backloaded as the day isn't until Sunday so the majority of Mother's Day sales will be as close to the day as possible (ie. mostly Friday and Saturday, so the main Mother's Day boost won't even be seen in the mids - not that we'd know its effect anyway unless they gave away sales info as it can't exactly get higher than #1 :P)

I wonder if 19 can get above 50k this week?

I don't think 19 will feel the mothers day boost, people will buy only the new album for their mums. Do you think it could get a boost next week though, with the mothers who have loved 21 rushing out to buy it? :P

1 Jennifer Lopez ft. Pitbull (65k)

A sign of the times:

14.01.01 Jennifer Lopez Love Don't Cost A Thing 67,500

20.02.05 Jennifer Lopez Get Right 49,928

So in just two days, 'On The Floor' has sold roughly what 'Love Don't Cost A Thing' sold in its first week of release in 2001 (and Spring 2001 became a massive period for single sales with Shaggy, Hear'Say, Westlife and Atomic Kitten all selling bucketloads).

What are the total sales for 'Get Right'? If it was a low selling #1 at the time (well, in 2005 terms) then 'OTF' might outsell the total sales of 'Get Right' by the end of this week. :o

Clearly 'On The Floor' is going to become J-Lo's biggest selling UK hit (no contest as singles sales are much more healthy now) but also possibly become her new signature tune.

Edit; 23 Get Right Jennifer Lopez 158,924 'On The Floor' might actually do it then. :o

I don't see why only 21 would get the Mother's Day boost - people might be thinking 19 is the new album. Or they're just shopping and they see 19 on the shelves and think 'ooh, an Adele album, that'd be a good Mother's Day gift' and throw it in their basket.

Surely most mums in the country have 21 by now! Although I think the same evey week, only to be proved wrong.

In a country with a population of 60m+, do you reckon that even if all 1.5 million purchases of 21 were by mums, that that 1.5 million tally would comprise 'most mums' in the UK?! ;)

I think a lot of 19's sales in recent weeks have actually come from people who've bought '21' and loved it and wanted more - don't forget, as ridiculous as it seems, '21' has already outsold '19' by some margin  So it makes perfect sense that it would get a Mother's Day boost.

Please no. I like On The Floor but JLo has far superior songs to be remembered!

Her biggest seller in the UK is "If You Had My Love" with sales of 320k in 1999 in case you wondered :D
