I forgot about OMG! :o I was so expecting that to be at least top 20! Also I Decided easily could've been much bigger!

Cheryl Cole - "The Flood" - If only it had been promoted more, and not been overshadowed by the Christmas rush. this is one of the best songs ever. The fact that it was only 18 is a travesty. Still, it did sell over 100k.

Erm, what?

I would say MGMT's "Time To Pretend" but it was 2008 I think? Brilliant record

Linkin Park's "The Catalyst" didn't take off at all despite being a rather hyped comeback single, read the same for MCR's "Na Na Na". Although with LP, releasing two pre-album singles (possibly "Waiting For The End" which was a big US radio hit and "Wretches and Kings" which was dying for a Jay-Z/Kanye verse) could have done them wonders.

Kaci - Crazy Possessive

Inna - 10 Minutes

Wynter Gordon - Dirty Talk (although Surveillance was a bigger crime!)

Shakira - Waka Waka

Edward Maya - This Is My Life

Gathania - Blame It On You

Keri Hilson - Energy and I Like

Owl City - Umbrella Beach

and a billion more I can't think of right now

i wouldn't say shakira - waka waka was a flop, it only just missed the top 20, and spent a long time in the top 40 - unlike some shakira songs. it should of been much more of a hit, but i wouldn't say its a flop. i think it has sold about 200k in the UK anyway, and it will probably keep re-entering the chart every world cup

Rocket - Goldfrapp  ed it

Everything Britney has released post-07 has deserved a top 5 placement.

amennn

Shinedown - Second Chance

God, how did I forget about that? :(

Palladium - High 5 as well.

Exactly. And why this is "since 2009"?

Because I wanted to keep it as recent flops in the last few years -_-

^

Personal opinion :P. See my sig.

I agree with you, The Flood was defo top 10 or even top 5 material! It was a great song!

Gettin' Up With You by the Yeah You's or something? I vaguely remember hearing that song everywhere on the radio, really, really liking it, and then it not charting well. :(

for me Ellie Goulding with The writer and Lights especially lights,

Eliza doolittle with Skinny genes

Zarif- box of secrets

Tinie Tempah wonderman

Whoever said 'Dirty Talk' .... it still has a chance I reckon. It's only just getting played on music channels :|.

Wonderman should've been bigger, but I wouldn't say it's flopped. It's still been extremely successful tbh, especially when we consider it's the 5th single, got its radio premiere 6 months ago and is still in the top 40, etc.

Thank you :). If only Chery had done some promotion :(. To me it's a much better song than, say "Someone Like You" (I love that song though). Oh, and I, as a massive Vickers fan, LOVE that sig. Shell be in my sig next after Cheryl I think :). My avatar will stay the same though, Cheryl is so pretty in it.

I've recently become obsessed with Lissie again, and I am now wondering how 'Cuckoo', was never a smash over here?!

So catchy and a genuinley great song... reopen discussion...

My two favourite songs from this time last year deserved better: Maroon 5-Misery and KT Tunstall-(Still A) Weirdo.

What happened to this? Last I heard it was all set for a UK release... then it just disappeared. I think it can be quite big off the back of Mr Saxobeat alone!

That song sadly has flop written over it :( I entered it for BJSC and it failed to make the final round - even if they gave it some promotion it'll do a massive flop. The music taste of the charts is slowly but surely changing. Loca People is gonna be the last of 2011s big Euro dance hits to make it big here - we've got a few months of X Factor ;)
