This sounds bizarre but I first heard INADOLLAR () on Radio 1 last year (Reggie Yates - of all people - played it on his request show as he was obsessed with a TV show it was on in the US) It's between J-Lo, Katy and LMFAO for next weeks no.1 imo!

It was released last March in Amercia.

But they're as old as each other? I thought the 'weekend effect' only really worked with older songs, I can't see why it would benefit one of those two more than the other.

"On The Floor" is better known though, and is on the radio constantly. I have never heard LMFAO.

"Man Down" is like an upbeat, Carribean version of "Unfaithul", it's different for her and it's almost like her first material. Shame they're not releasing it.

And about J-Lo vs LMFAO, I think LMFAO will overtake next week, it's getting more and more popular every day and it's too good to miss number one. They're on a lot on R1

Not at all. Rihanna is definitely one of my favourite artists, but Te Amo was not good. Although, oddly enough, it was my initial favourite from Rated R. My favourite now is probably Hard.

Yeah, I would prefer Man Down as a single, although I do fully understand why they're releasing California Kind Bed. After S&M, I think they really need a song like that to "counter" it, so to speak. And I was thinking about stations like Heart FM. They won't've been able to play All of the Lights, Love the Way You Lie, Who's That Chick?, S&M, What's My Name? or Only Girl, so the most recent Rihanna song they've been able to play is Te Amo. It's probably good that she's releasing a very MOR song like California King Bed.

As to why Man Down is higher than California King Bed, well, I'm hearing Man Down on the radio at least once a week (been that way pretty much since the album release for me), so it makes sense that it's selling more. I still haven't heard California King Bed on the radio yet.

I don't think they'll change their mind though. It's already gone top 40 in Australia, so it looks like they're going through with it.

Heart Bristol play OG ALL the time! :o Mum has it on in the car all the time and I hear it at least once a day! :o I've heard WTC 2/3 times too!

True, they were put up for download around the same time, but On the Floor has been very popular for over a month now (hence why it shot straight to #1 when released). Party Rock Anthem has also been around for a whole, but wasn't really getting too known until, pretty much now.

I mean, Just Can't Get Enough has been on iTunes since November, but became popular a bit after J-Lo did, even though J-Lo wasn't even on iTunes yet.

I get Heart Birmingham, or Heart Midlands, or Heart Warwickshire, or whatever they call it. I have heard Only Girl on there, but only twice. I've never heard Who's That Chick? on there though. I genuinely can't imagine Heart playing Who's That Chick?, because it's so dancy and electronic, and because of the computerized vocal effects. They seem really opposed to those, especially in newer songs. The only song I can think of that used notable computer effects on the vocals that they played recently was Meet Me Halfway (also, notably, the closest I've ever heard to rapping on the station, they must've really loved the song, but I understand ).

Great to see "Man Down" beating "California King Bed", maybe they'll change the single but they probably won't. Am listening to Man Down now and it's better than CKB

Man Down would have been a really good single choice. Who they f*** wanted that one to be a single?? At least, they didn't release Love The Way You Lie Part II.

I love the entire Loud album, and Man Down shoulda been the single, CKB is tied with it for my fave but Man Down will deffo do better! Heart might play it too, not too urban I guess... They'll deffo get behind CKB though!

why are people talking about release dates and the weekend effect?everyoneknows that songs become popular in the charts due to video airplay now, it doesnt matter when it was released, unless it was top 10 in the us!!

as for 'i need a dollar was it released last march or this in america?where did it get to in the billboard chart??

I thought Eric Blob listened to Heart? :drama:

I get Heart West Midlands. On Compare My Radio she's only #11 there. Which supports the fact that I've only heard it twice on there. Which Heart do you get?

Love the Way You Lie, Part II is amazing, but it wouldn't have been good as a single, because it would've just got the whole thing overexposed tbh (see Empire State of Mind). :(

They might play Man Down, although they didn't even play What's My Name?, so I'm not sure. Although What's My Name? was a song basically describing having sex, so that might've put them off. Heart FM do play urban songs (like Forget You, Empire State of Mind II, Just the Way You Are), just not rapping.

Someone's probably going to tell me Heart Isle of Wight has What's My Name? in heavy rotation or something, but I mean, I've never heard it on Heart personally!

When I got Loud, I began to like Man Down and Cheers. It took a while, but now, Fading and CKB are now my favourites on the album, and I can see why she isn't releasing Fading, it isn't commercial enough, so I hope CKB does brilliantly. Man Down is still brilliant, but it's either it or Cheers for the 5th single, and I think she'll go for Cheers rather than Man Down, as she's already done the controversial thing with S & M and Cheers is such a good party song.

I love CKB, though

^ Cheers is incredible. I think I even prefer it to Man Down. And I remember there were rumours Rihanna was going to release it over S&M.

I love how she sampled Avril Lavigne too, of all people. I bet she was well chuffed! :D

Rihanna's accent on Cheers was really weird at first aswell. On Man Down it seemed a bit strange too, but on Cheers she used a really strong one. It sounds like she's singing from the back of her throat or something. I've got used to it now though.

Another Rihanna pronounciation issue I had with Loud was how she pronounced "hear" in Love the Way You Lie really different to how she pronounced it on Eminem's version. After listening to the original like a million times, it took a long time to get used to!

I really don't get the Cheers love, 2nd weakest on Loud besides Skin (the rest are all 8/10 at least but C is a 7 and Skin a 5)
So pleased to see Britney back in the Top 30 :w00t: Really hope it can iontinue climbing and beat its original peak of #21 on the official charts :)
Sometimes I love CKB, sometimes I hate it. But I love both 'Man Down' and 'Cheers', if possible, both could get released?

Yeah. It would be awesome if she released all three of those.

And I'd also like to see videos for Raining Men and Love the Way You Lie, Part II (although I know they won't happen, especially the latter). Raining Men might get a hard time because people keep saying it ripped off Beyonce, so I doubt they'd give that a proper single release (not that they need to, there's plenty to choose from).

Actually, there's only two tracks on Loud that I wouldn't like to see released, and that's Complicated and Skin.

If Rihanna went and released all the rest, I'd be so happy.

LTWYL part 2 would be awesome, but it's not going to happen :(

And I thought Raining Men got a US release only. At least it says that on the Wiki article.

Hmm. Looking on wikipedia now, it says that Raining Men got released in the US, but as a radio single (i.e. the record label sent the song to radio stations, but they didn't make a single version of it, get professional remixes made, make a music video, etc. like they do with proper singles). It was good thing to do for urban radio stations, since I doubt most of them would've wanted to play Only Girl or S&M. It didn't manage to chart on the Hot 100 though, evidently. It only managed #48 on the RnB chart.

Yeah, LTWYL II almost certainly won't get released. The original was already so popular that its borderline frustrating, even for a lot of their fans, let alone the people that don't like them! :o Releasing Part II wouldn't help matters tbh. Perhaps that's why it was album only. We all know it would've shot straight into the top 10, possibly to #1 if it could've been downloaded at the time (and Rihanna could've had 4 songs top 10! :o ).

I don't get the fascination with 'Man Down', it's easily one of the worst on an otherwise very decent album? 'California King Bed' is far superior.
