April 14, 201114 yr To be fair people are basing Parade on one song ... I'm pretty sure alot of other people said The Sats wouldn't be successful after 'If This Is Love' too :P. I think they have lots of potential to be better, I think it's fairer to judge their success when we hear the next single personally.

April 14, 201114 yr This topic is ruined by the fact you compared the saturdays and sugababes calling the saturdays a flop! You know you could have said girls can't catch as an example! If you said to parade would you be happy with almost 2million sales 8 top 10 hits two tours and could go and record a third album and tour again next year they'd be delighted In this industry the Saturdays are doing well to have survived three years when so many other bands don't! Stupid post As far as parade top ten start is good had some good promo being in an advert but so far they done excite me Edited April 14, 201114 yr by Paulouk83
April 14, 201114 yr Louder is a good song. I just can't see them doing well, but I guess we'll have to wait and see
April 14, 201114 yr I think they could, potentially. I mean, where did the promotion for Louder come from. I had not heard it anywhere before it mid-week chart update on Radio 1, which suggests to me that they got top 10 on a fanbase buy, and fanbase which they probably obtained through the Internet. Also the way they fell down the chart, and how the song was relatively poor quality, also supports that they got top 10 on a fanbase buy. This also suggests, that if they can maintain their current fanbase, surely they'll be able to get repeated top 20 "hits"? I didn't mind Louder though. Ironically, I thought the song was far too quiet, but I thought the bridge was really catchy. And I couldn't really take the OP completely seriously when it opened up with saying the Saturdays are flops?! Edited April 14, 201114 yr by Eric_Blob
April 14, 201114 yr I don't think Parade will get anywhere. Their next single will hit top 20 and fall down fast because they have a 30k fanbase and can't connect with the public like The Saturdays have (and just like everyone else has said they are not a flop group, they're the biggest girl group around atm). "Louder" was a bad choice of first single and it tells me that they can't do any better and they will get dropped just like Mini Viva and Girls Can't Catch
April 14, 201114 yr Based on Louder's performance, Parade have a couple more singles left in them, but I don't see anything more. I'd actually heard Louder a month or so before its release, and while I liked it, I didn't see anything special in it, and I was surprised it got top 10, tbh.
April 14, 201114 yr They seem pretty arrogant to me, and while that doesn't mean I can't like their music, I find it very off-putting. At least with The Sats (and Wonderland and Girls Can't Catch) they were full of "aww, thank you"'s and were really classy and warm when being interviewed, on the Lottery interview Parade seemed very brash and full of themselves. :( Louder is a tune though! :D
April 14, 201114 yr I was supprised Louder went top 10, I think the advert really helped, as the only TV promo I am aware of them doing for it was a Lotto preformance. They may supprise us and have an Up as single number 2.... I doubt it though, and unless the album is released after single number 2 (thats assuming they get a second single) It probably won't be released (look at GCC & MV). The thing is there really needs to be a rival to The Saturdays (whom I love) otherwise they might start to get complacent as the biggest girl group in the UK...
April 15, 201114 yr I think their singles could do quite well, although Louder is better than Perfume, Rollercoaster or Rockstar so unless they have some unheard stuff they plan to release it might be hard for them to do better. I can't see them shifting albums though. It's too early to tell - look at Mini Viva, very successful first single and a disaster for the two follow ups. So basically I think some successful singles but will strugge to shift albums.
April 15, 201114 yr lol The Saturdays flop... 8 top 10 singles in 2yrs says it all! (sorry I'm a total Sats loon :P) Anyway, Louder is a great track - nothing innovative but a very good catchy debut! Maybe slightly underwhelming compared to pop genius from SB, GA, Mini Viva and The Sats, but I'm not writing Parade off yet. I'm keeping an open mind as If This Is Love was disliked by many (I love it though, underrated much?) so hopefully Parade's next single turns it all around a la Up! I mean following ITIL, most expected The Sats to join the flop girlband club, but look at them now - biggest girlband in the country! So Parade can make it yet!
