Guess I'll be making one too, my upload is painfully slow though.
I've got my tracklist. Just need to remove info from the tags and should get the compilation uploaded this evening - maybe tomorrow.

Read da furst post, you got till the 10th.

Speaking of though,

Remind: You all have one more week to get these in!!!

I may extend the deadline though, this came up way sooner than I expected. But please try to get them in before then!!! I only have a handful so far.

I think I've just finished mine... it's not quite what I hoped for and it's nothing like what I set out to do though.

I'm finding the same. Many of my top picks I used up in CD Swap 1, and although I've had a few more discoveries since last year, I am also using a few leftovers.

I'm also spending an inordinate amount of time trying to order the whole thing. I know not why, because it's basically quite a pointless endeavour and it won't really make THAT much difference to anything. I've tried to go for a bit of variety for my CD (which essentially means there is NO chance of anybody liking every track here), but now the dilemma is whether to order the tracks so that they all flow, or whether to mix it up. Mixing it up makes for a jarring collection, but at the same time keeping everything in a more logical order means that some of the individual tracks lose a bit of their power and impact when piled up alongside other similar-sounding tracks. :drama:

I have gained a new respect for those poor souls who spend months fretting over putting together a Now! collection (well not really but hey).

Oh I'm a massive stickler for a compilation having a flow to it, I've actually taken out many of my initial tracks just because I didn't think they worked within the whole. It's the primary reason that I've ended up with something that isn't anything like the initial set of tracks I chose, I'm just hoping my rather anal approach doesn't result in a worse experience for the eventual recipient.

All this effort for something that someone will probably listen to once!

I never worry about flow, as it's not something that ever really bothers me when I'm listening. I knew what I wanted to open and close my CD, and everything else I put in no real order, I just made sure no song sounded that similar to the one before it.

I agree 100%. I am a obsessive person for flow and people do pick up in it - as you did the last time I entered this competition. I try and make it sound like a piece of work.

Apart from 'Fused' all my other CD Swap compilations have followed a Now! style tracklist. I don't consider the flow of the album to be important - after all, the whole point of this is to discover new music rather than ignoring the music but thinking "wow, track 4 follows on from track 3 brilliantly" :D

There is one track on my album that stands out like a sore thumb - I literally didn't know where to put it. It certainly wasn't a track worthy of opening or finishing the album so it got shoved into the second half. Reason I didn't remove it was because I got a nice round 20 tracks on the album.

ヽ(´ー`)ʎ, please do not send my CD to Hits as track 4 really does flow well from track 3 and he just will not appreciate it. :(

Dandy* obviously being the exception to the rule.

I've been thinking of joining. At the moment, I got 12 tracks, but I feel they are mostly my personal favorites and stuff so maybe I'll put something I'm not fond of, because it's meant for another person to listen to.

I have two playlists right now. They could not be more different from each other. NO idea which to pick.

I intend to sort my playlist out after my exam on the 9th.

I want to delve deep into my iTunes and hunt out some of my more unknown stuff, I have a sound in mind for the CD. Hopefully it'll go down better than my last one....

This sounds cool, I think I'll give it a go at a playlist tommorow - I'll be able to get a taste for it before the one from the BJSC forum! ^_^ I'm more of a pop guy, but I do have quite a lot of stuff which would belong here in the indie forum, so I'll mix the two together probably!
i promise i will send one on tuesday, just refining the order of tracks and need to do all the wiping of tags.
