I think Chris Brown and Bruno Mars could both challenge for #1 before Example's release, as could Beyoncé and GaGa depending on their videos etc. And of course we could easily have a song that doesn't exist yet crop up over the next 6 weeks.

In countries where they do on-air, on-sale with everything, 8 weeks at #1 isn't too uncommon. I guess because they get situations like we had with Someone Like You earlier this year, where it just sits safely at the top of the chart, and all the other on air, on sale songs slowly climb up the chart, peak at 50,000 sales and start dropping again, whilst previously we had front-loaded songs released every week, so there was a faster rotation of #1s.

5 weeks would be amazing. I'd love to see another dance song be on the same level as the amazing 'Now You're Gone'[/unpopularopinion]

I love that song. Don't worry, it's not unpopular. It's a very popular song, it's just on Buzzjack people hate it, for some reason. :(

That's what I meant, it's a popular dance song and one of the best of the past few years but I guess it's too cheesy-hardcore for the pop lovers on this site

Not sure about hardcore! But yes, it's a brilliant song. The instrumental sections are my favourite. I would love a song like that to get to #1 again. Although I guess we got Chris Brown and Snoop Dogg in the top 10. :D

When is I'm Into You by J-Lo being released? I've been listening to it so much lately. Absolutely brilliant. It's quite urban, but it's the type of urban that does well in the UK I think.

I love Now Your Gone. And on the topic of Basshunter, he's apparently got a new single out soon and it features Kerry Katona  I saw the article on DS no joke:

:o 'This year's When Love Takes Over'

It'll be available to cherry pick when the album's out May 2, but I don't know about the official release.

^ Ah cool. So not too long then. It'll chart on cherry-picking, surely? Maybe Papi will aswell.

I always wondered though, would Basshunter have ever got 5 weeks if it weren't for those pictures of him that leaked? I guess we'll never know, but it's a great song anyway, so I don't care.

I saw that article last night and thought... this is going to flop so hard as its 1 - got Basshunter who flopped last year with Saturday and 2 - People who are 'famous for being famous' never do well in music (Kim Kardashian, Paris Hilton, Katie Price etc.)

Kerry Katona was in Atomic Kitten you know (hard to believe), so she does actually have a good singing voice!

Yeah. Kerry Katona is now in that category of artists who can never have a hit no matter how good her song is, just because of who she is. The song could be genuinely good, but it will be seen as a gimmick, probably. :(

It will obviously flop  But Kerry ACTUALLY has a good voice :o I was watching her TV show and she sang with some band at her birthday party and she was good :o

You couldn't tell that from her AK days though, she was in the crap first few songs that just scraped top 10, and Whole Again (but they've changed to a version without her now iirc) there is a solo version of Whole Again on YT but she just speaks it  Interesting fact - she left Atomic Kitten the same week WA got to number 1 (days before )

One good thing with singles staying on top for a few weeks, gets rid of the weekly turnover, which I hate so much.
Nero are now #4 on the iTunes Album chart with "Guilt - EP"; behind The Wombats, Now 78 and Adele.

The Wombats only released today so Nero haven't really fallen. They were behind Adele and Now! 78 before.

18. Guilt (Radio Edit) - Nero

29. Guilt (Original Mix) - Nero

45. Dirty Talk - Wynter Gordon

293. Mr Saxobeat (UK Radio Edit) - Alexandra Stan

Guilt should definitely outpeak MAY but I really hope it can still go top 10 :(
