None of Dannii’s singles have been certified! That’s crazy.

 

Sales were dire in 2003 when she had a chart flurry but I would have thought All I Wanna Do and Who Do You Love Now have achieved over 200k.

'All I Wanna Do' surely can't be that far off? I was under the impression that was in the 190k region.

 

Mind you, shifting 10k at her snail pace may not even happen in this lifetime. :(

I guess there is nothing to get her the causal plays outside of people that still seek out her music - she’s not on TV in the UK (apart from QVC -_- ) or in the mainstream media, and her songs never appear on any of the ‘Best Of’ 90s of Pop playlists on streaming.

A shame the sales of the 2020 remake of All I Wanna Do doesn’t count towards the original, not that I think it would add that much but it could have made the difference.

 

I do long for something that can put anything relating Dannii’s music back into the public consciousness. I did wonder if Kylie would bring Dannii out on stage at Glastonbury for a song back in 2019 which could have just reminded people at least of the early 00s when Dannii was getting consecutive hits. I feel like Who Do You Love Now and I Begin to Wonder is still there hidden in people’s memories, I’ve occasionally played the former to my friends and they’ve sort of remembered it.

^^ Yes, despite her having some big hits they really have fallen out of the public consciousness, I never seen or hear Dannii’s music mentioned anywhere and they seem to be overlooked for every pop, dance, retro album/playlist :nocheer: I can’t see anything happening that will change it either

It's a shame dannii hasnt at least one single certification but yet I always think who do you love now, all I wanna do and I begin to wonder were big hits but as mentioned sales were low at that time. With Dannii's profile so low in the uk it's hard to draw any casual sales to her music plus as mentioned she is on no playlists, all that considered it looks like the outcome wont change any time soon. Out of all danniis releases I dont think she really has that signature hit that people relate to outside her fans, I think for many they would struggle to name a dannii song off the top of their head.

That's very true. I remember a while back I was talking with a friend about Dannii, he also said he didn't know any of her songs, but as soon as I played I Begin To Wonder he was like 'oh of course I know this song, it used to be on the telly all the time and I love it'.

This! Her songs are amazing but there were so many female singers around at the time releasing a similar style of music nothing has stuck as being as being a song that is associated with Dannii and people seek out.

 

As mentioned people know the songs but don’t connect that they are Dannii’s :nocheer:

Probably not helped by her dropping completely off the radar as a music artist in the last 15 years or so.

 

I feel like she's very much in the same category as Louise, a decent chuck of hits but barely anyone remembers/knows a song despite being very familiar with who she is as a media personality.

Noticed Spinning Around youtube views have been increasing from under 10k to around 25k a day

That's a very good comparison actually, for me i would remember far far more of danniis songs than Louise but i think the general public may struggle with either.

I don’t think they are bothered - they (and Kylie) make much more on £30 vinyl etc., - of course the physical market won’t last forever but who knows what will be around then to boost sales.
