June 18, 201114 yr I dont think releasing 22 was a bad choice, I actually loved that song! f*** you and back to the start would have been great. never really got into who'd have known.
June 18, 201114 yr Oh gosh. WHAT A MESS! :o :o It did very well in the US, where they released it properly. A shame really. Now all we get of Mariah is a couple of weeks at Christmas. :( She's really beautiful. I'd love her to be in the charts more often. :) I wouldn't say it did 'really well'. It was big but was a comparative flop by her standards. Given a few years earlier she'd literally get to #1 with almost anything she released, the fact it didn't even get to #1 on sales let alone the Hot 100 was a big disappointment. Possibly because the song was utter $h!te Not to mention the fact that she pulled a grand total of just two more BBH100 songs from the album (the second of those only making it by the skin of its teeth) and the fact the album undeniably bombed, MOAIA was generally not a great era for Mariah. :P I think she could still regain her relevance in at least the USA if not here as well. But she'll need a really good song. If JLo could do it... :P Edited June 18, 201114 yr by Bray
June 18, 201114 yr I always wondered why Obsessed did so badly, it peaked at 48 or something didn't it? :( I didn't follow iTunes then, only the official chart so I never knew why it missed top 40 when I was expecting top 20 at least!

FY was the absolute obvious third single, yet it never got a release. (22 would probably still have gone top 20 as the fourth single, then the 5th single should have been Back To The Start or maybe Everyone's At It - WHK was a ridiculous choice full stop and she was extremely lucky it managed a top 40 placing)
June 18, 201114 yr Hmm. Mariah recently had twins didn't she, so she probably won't release anything for quite a while now, if ever again. :( Maybe Who'd Have Known managed to get top 40 because she performed it on TV with Take That once. I can't remember when it was in relation to her chart positions, but I remember it happening. Probably good promo though. Edited June 18, 201114 yr by Eric_Blob

The Fear 2. F*** You 3. Everyone's At It 4. Not Fair 5. Back To The Start 22 wasn't a bad choice though, I agree. If she followed my plan however, she'd have got 3 top 10s for sure, maybe even a 4th with NF! Hmm. Mariah recently had twins didn't she, so she probably won't release anything for quite a while now, if ever again. :( I was really worried there too, but I read before she had her twins she'd start work on MOAIA's follow-up later this year.

June 18, 201114 yr - Jordin Sparks 'Freeze' [After the smash 'No Air' and the surprising moderate hit in 'One Step At A Time', this would have served better as a single over a re-issue of 'Tattoo'] - Ashley Tisdale 'Overrated' [in fact her whole 'Guilty Pleasure' era should have been bigger than it actually was! :(] - The Saturdays 'Lose Control', 'Open Up' & 'One Shot' - Shontelle 'Battle Cry', 'Take Ova' I could go on... I also agree with the other Leona songs that have been commented on. the main one for me though is Kelly Clarkson's 'Sober'. me7GYlaliRE That could have done brilliantly as an Autumn single! And actually shifted a few thousand copies of the underrated 'My December' album! I do hope that one day, on X Factor someone with a voice as lovely and vulnerable as Kelly's voice sounds, will perform this and give it the recognition it TRULY deserves. I think Freeze should have been 2nd after NA, followed by OSAAT. Freeze could've been another top 10 and OSAAT would've still gone top 20. Ashely Tisdale could've/should've been so much bigger, I agree! And OS would've been a good choice for The Saturdays (I forgot it in my list) - I'd have led with Ego followed by that then Here Standing. And as for Shontelle, Battle Cry WAS a single  It only peaked at 63 though :( Plus YESSS @ Sober! Easily in my top 5 Kelly tracks, and I would've led MD with it tbh - it would've been bigger than the (brilliant, not quite as much as Sober) Never Again.
June 18, 201114 yr Why are we talking about Lily's INM,IY era and not mentioning the potential smash, that was 'I Could Say'? I honestly believe she should have released that at some point. I personally would have gone... 01. 'The Fear' 02. 'Fuck You' 03. 'I Could Say' 04. 'Everyone's At It' 05. 'Back to the Start' Everything else was just good album track material! Particularly 'Chinese' 'Not Fair' did well, but the video was/is awful and completely ruined the magic of the song for me. I didn't really agree with it being announced as a single either, but you can't moan when it did well.
June 18, 201114 yr Shakira 'Men in This Town' (from 'She Wolf') Rihanna 'Push Up on Me' (from 'Good Girl Gone Bad') Probably MILLIONS more but those are the two I can think of now.

June 19, 201114 yr Delta Goodrem - Believe Again IMO the same people who love Adele would also love this!
June 19, 201114 yr Delta Goodrem - Believe Again IMO the same people who love Adele would also love this! At least it was a single in Australia. But yes it should have got a push in the UK (being the 2nd greatest song of ALL TIME and all :funky:), but the album wasn't released here at all :( She didn't make any slip-up's with the singles from Delta, the four she released and Possessionless were the only things on there worth getting excited about  Predictable was a massive missed UK opportunity from the Innocent Eyes album, should have been 5th here instead of the bizarre Throw It Away release that was cancelled at the last minute.
June 19, 201114 yr Destinys Child - Through With Love How on earth wasnt this a single the buzz around this track was huge a complete fan favourite, definately a hit waiting to happen!!! Madonna - The Beat Goes On Cant believe this was not a single, this song is so infectious and has a guest rapper (where it actually works)!! She could have even used the tour performance for the video! Kelly Clarkson - Dont Let Me Stop You Another fan favourite that could have been a smash hit! Alicia Keys - Put It In A Love Song A video was even made , the release ft beyonce would have also pushed the element of freedom passed a million sales in the uk! Christina Aguilera - Infatuation, Impossible , Get Mine Get Yours - all would have been hit singles from stripped! My gos choosing singles was 'impossible' from this album! Spice Girls Tell Me Why
June 19, 201114 yr Alicia Keys also had Unthinkable, which I think could've done well. Last era could've been even bigger for her with extra single imo. Although she got pregnant I think, so she couldn't really promote them I suppose.
June 19, 201114 yr Maybe not really hits, but if i had my way, i would of had these unreleased songs at least be released Leona - Outta my head, My hands, Best you never had, Take a bow Actually, there are so many missed opportunities missed by both her Spirit and echo albums. I could go on and on Rihanna - Breakin dishes Christina Aguilera - Woo Hoo Adele - Right as rain Katy Perry - Self inflicted, If you can afford me Lady GaGa - Speechless Joss Stone - Music Pixie Lott - Here we go again, Without you, Coming home Sugababes - Never gonna dance again, Miss everything Girls Aloud - Love is pain Jordin Sparks - Walking on snow The Saturdays - One shot Pink - Bad influence (think it was an aussie single but not worldwide though) Ashlee Simpson - Rule breaker, Rag doll (her whole bittersweet world era was totally underated but flopped badly) Duffy - Delayed Devotion, I'm scared Avril Lavigne - Runaway Gwen Stefani - The real thing Fergie - All I Got Pussycat dolls - Out of the club, How many times how many lies Alicia Keys - This Bed, Put it in a love song (they filmed a video for this and it still remains unreleased) Edited June 19, 201114 yr by David John
June 19, 201114 yr I wonder why the didn't release the video for Put It In A Love Song, the pictures from the video shoot looking amazing. I hope it will come out one day.
June 19, 201114 yr Lily Allen - Chinese Ke$ha - Stephen (that's a ballad) Leona Lewis - Outta My Head or Alive Diana Vickers - Put It Back Together Again Lady GaGa - Summer Boy, Brown Eyes, Paper Gangsta, Dance In The Dark
