Anyway, listened to 10 of the songs in SF2 (in random order). I think so far it's been the strongest semi I've ever competed in! :drama:

I just want to say I'm loving the GREEN to BLACK idea being reused once again. I only used green as it is the colour of Batidas (ie; environmentally friendly etc...). :D - it was a running theme throughout with the national flag, and graphics.

 

I'm currently tending to agree with GD - not finding as many great songs as I did in XXXIV (and there were a lot) but I've not listened to the songs from SF1 (well, except one via a personal chart...). My votes will be in possibly Thursday or Friday. I'm gonna see if any tracks grow on me with more listens. I've already got 3 definites that will be getting points from Batidas. :D

:lol: I didn't want to make it a carbon copy of what you did, but I wanted colours that weren't red or blue, and I realised that green to black just looks the best :P

 

Maybe it'll catch on and become and running theme!

I voted last night. I had ten songs that I wanted to vote for (perfect) but all were brilliant and probably would have got at least a 4 or 5 in last months semi I'd been in had they been entered a month early.

Semi 1 is pretty great, I'm strongly in love with 7 songs from it, compared to 3 from Semi 2. I wouldn't say this is the usual 'favour your own semi' thing either seeing as I downloaded both MP3 packs at the same time and listened to all 46 songs in alphabetical order by artist name! If all 10 of these songs that I LOVE could progress to the final then that would be great thanks, voting would be very easy indeed! I'm expecting at least two of them to be casualties though...

Sent my votes earlier. I will say it wasn't a particularly strong semi, I do really like my 12 but had me and that country been in semi 2, I wouldn't have given it more than about 4 or 5, semi 2 is INCREDIBLY strong :o

I hate to sound biased/shooting myself in the foot prior to the results but it probably does say a lot when I genuinely think my own entry is one of the best songs in SF2. :(

I agree :D But I think SF2 is INSANELY strong, I'm just thinking SF1 pales in comparison :(

I've now got my provisional votes so I'll see if my opinions change over the next 2 days. I shall send my votes on Friday evening.

 

I've already removed 3 tracks from SF2 which won't be getting points. I just don't like them no matter how hard I try to. :(

I nearly always like my entry more than any other sent, purely because it's the song I've been that obsessed with that I've felt the need to share with everybody else! There are of course exceptions to this rule; XXIII (Leddra Chapman >>>>>> Shackles) and XXXIII (Agnes Obel >>>> Brittany McDonald).

 

As for Semi 2 being stronger, overall it is I guess but the songs that I've become obsessed with are all in Semi 1 bar two. It's just that Semi 1 is letdown a bit overall by some crap, not that Semi 2 is without it!
