Posted June 20, 201114 yr Derulo set to top UK singles chart 10:52 | Tuesday June 21, 2011 Source: MW By Paul Williams Singles Another track falling foul of on air/on sale is on course to top the UK singles chart this week, with Jason Derulo lined up for his second number one hit. The Warner Bros-issued Don’t Wanna Go Home, which has been at radio for the past month, is around 7,000 sales ahead of Ministry of Sound act Example’s Changed The Way You Kiss Me at this stage of the week, according to OCC data. Derulo, who previously topped the UK singles chart with In My Head, is joined among the Top 10 sellers at number six by Ministry of Sound release Badman Riddim (Jump) by Vato Gonzalez featuring Foreign Beggars, which itself was at radio more than a month before becoming commercially available this week. With Example’s two-week chart-topper the week’s second top seller, Columbia act Calvin Harris’s Bounce featuring Kelis dropping 2-4 and Asylum/Warner’s Ed Sheeran with The A Team slipping 3-5, five of the top six sellers in the new chart week were not available to buy at the same time as they first went to radio but experienced several weeks on air before going on sale. However, two on air/on sale tracks that had quickly dropped down the OCC chart are now showing impressive revivals, led by Interscope/Polydor’s Lady GaGa, who so far this week has moved 16-9 with The Edge Of Glory following the song’s video debuting last week. The track had previously debuted and peaked at six back in May before falling out of the Top 20. Meanwhile, Polydor act The Saturdays are enjoying their own revival with Notorious, which had debuted at number eight at the end of May after being made available to buy around the same time as going to radio but then dropped the following week. Having improved 33-26 on last Sunday’s chart, it has now moved up to 17 on midweek sales. Albums GaGa is enjoying an even bigger revival on the albums chart, with Born This Way’s sales lifting 136% on the week as it finds itself in a three-way battle for number one with 4AD’s self-titled second Bon Iver album, which is currently newly-arrived at two, and XL act Adele’s 21. There are presently only around 2,500 sales separately GaGa at one and Adele at three, with Polydor act Take That’s Progress, which returned to number one last Sunday following the release of an expanded version, in fourth place. GaGa’s first album The Fame is placed 12th having been in 20th position on last Sunday’s chart. Alongside Bon Iver, two other newly-issued albums are also showing up in the Top 10 positions in the chart week so far, led by Island’s third The Feeling album Together We Were Made in seventh place and a first Rhino Barry Manilow album, 15 Minutes, in 10th spot. J/RCA’s Pitbull, whose Give Me Everything single with Ne-Yo, Afrojack and Nayer, is the week’s third best seller so far, is showing up in 17th spot with his newly-issued album Planet Pit, while other new albums showing up among the Top 40 sellers at this point of the week come from Mercury’s Patrick Wolf, Def Leppard via the Frontiers label, Island’s Owl City, All Around The World/UMTV’s Cascada, Atlantic’s Simple Plan and Century Media’s In Flames. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Top 40 Only Singles 1 Jason Derulo (7k ahead) 2 Example 3 Pitbull/Ne-Yo/Afrojack/Nayer 4 Calvin Harris/Kelis 5 Ed Sheeran Top 10 Vato Gonzales Feat. Its not that hard. [05] Do not use BLOCK CAPITALS when posting a sentence its considered as shouting and rude. [06] Do not use Text Talk. [09] Please do not post lists, or sales info unless you are told to by myself or a chart mod, if you do have sales info that you wish to share round them off to the nearest thousand and name your source, do not post precise sales figures. [10] Regarding chart postions when posted when you see a sum/substraction for example 22+4, 40-7, if you add/subtract both figures together it gives you the actual position for the track. Its just simple addition or substraction. Go Figure.
June 21, 201114 yr Think Example might be number one today but Jason will take it by the end of the week! And call me stupid i really think Cascada will be number one in the album chart. Edited June 21, 201114 yr by Gboy
June 21, 201114 yr Think Example might be number one today but Jason will take it by the end of the week! And call me stupid i really think Cascada will be number one in the album chart. I would, but Scooter somehow did it
June 21, 201114 yr Yeah i know. The Cascada album has a greatest hits cd too so i think that could make it sell pretty well.
June 21, 201114 yr 2008 was a different time for dance albums, Scooter, Cascada, Ultrabeat, even Darren Styles managed big selling top five albums! Not forgetting Basshunter's #1 album of course! They don't seem to do much anymore, I guess the dance focus has moved back onto the singles chart. I see Cascada at low top ten at absolute best sadly, even despite the Greatest Hits album tagged on.
June 21, 201114 yr We shall see... It was also in a prime position in HMV with plenty of copies. I was even tempted myself :o :)
