As much as I usually don't like seeing loads of one week wonders, I'd actually prefer to see Beyonce's new single get to no. 1 this Sunday. 'Best Thing I Never Had' is so much better than 'Run The World (Girls)' so this new single really does deserve to do well. Plus, with '4' looking set to debut at no. 1 in the album chart on Sunday it'd be a rare occasion where an artist will have entered at no. 1 in both the sinfles and album charts in the same week. 'BTINH', even with just 1 week at #1, will definitely stick around for a few months. A video will help boost sales for the song and it also sounds like the type of song I can imagine wannabes singing on X Factor.

It's very close between the two though so expect quite a bit of swapping. Nothing looks immediately likely to go top 10. Nicki Minaj is once again #11 (she really is nu Dev!) but quite far off the top 10.

Actually putting my iTunes Chart Run thread to use, Super Bass has been top 15 for 24 non-consecutive days since 29/05/2011 (8pm positions for each day) but is yet to crack the top 10 :o She's only had 3 days at #11 though.

Even if 'Best Thing I Never Had' doesn't get #1 this week and gets stopped by DJ Fresh next week, I can see it being the #1 the week after or even the week after, when the video comes out. A snippet was meant to come out last night but I think it must have been pushed back, but if they were considering showing a snippet I would imagine the whole thing should be coming in the next few weeks, and when it does, it could easily boost 'BTINH' back up and that could be when it officially gets to #1.

OFFS! Come on Nicki and overtake that crap at number 10! :(

The Wanted are out the week after next and they could easily be #1. (Plus I don't think DJ Fresh would drop *that* much in week 2, so I think that week will be Fresh vs. The Wanted with Beyoncé #3 at best). If the video does come out the week after that as you say it could get #1 then.

Nicki missing out on top 10 is so much more frustrating than Dev was :( Maybe because Super Bass is a far better song (imo of course).
Has anyone got total sales (and how long it spent in top 10/top 40)? I know it hit #1 didnt it. Such a tune!

Chart run: 14-5-4-5-5-6-6-7-14-20-17-15-24-23-25-29-36-43-47-55-65-70-75-74-69 (25 weeks) and the last known UK sales for it are 300k.

Very happy to see Beyoncé at #1, btw. :w00t:

Problem is, just *barely* being #1 won't be enough, since she gave Derulo a day's headstart...

Beyonce should start falling at around tomorrow when the Glastonbury effect has wore off slightly.

Songs climbing:

21. Dirty Dancer - Enrique Iglesias, Usher & Lil Wayne

27. Irreplaceable (Live at Glastonbury) - Beyonce (also #39)

29. Run the World (Girls) - Beyonce (also #42)

43. End of Time - Beyonce

Jason Derülo down to 0.893445. Hopefully Beyoncé's lead keeps increasing. :D

I don't know if I'm alone in saying that Jason's single seems like a 'Start Without You'-type song where once he's knocked off the top spot, he goes into freefall. If that is the case, it'll only benefit Beyonce.

I think it is, it will fall and I have no doubt that BTINH will be number 1 come Sunday.

The music video for "Best Thing I Never Had" is set to première tomorrow. ^_^

SO the number 1 spot is for sure I think.
