Kylie should sign those remaining super deluxe Golden books....imagine how cool that would be to own. I paid full price in HMV on the day of release!

I cannot believe the sales of ‘Slow’ are so poor, I’d say it’s one of her signature songs, she always performs it on tour, you would think that would have boosted it. Hopefully the Greatest Hits has benefited its sales over the last year.

There can’t be many 2000’s number 1’s not certified Silver?

I'm pretty sure for a while Slow was named the lowest-selling #1 of all time, but I'm not sure if that was in terms of weekly sales or total sales.

I think 'Slow' was the lowest selling number one by the end of 2003 with 90k, but 'Who's David' by Busted beat that the following year with just 73k.

There's 25 uncertified #1s this side of the century:

  1. Manic Street Preachers - The Masses Against the Classes (2000)
  2. Blazin' Squad - Crossroads (2002)
  3. Busted - You Said No (2003)
  4. Tomcraft - Loneliness (2003)
  5. Daniel Bedingfield - Never Gonna Leave Your Side (2003)
  6. Kylie Minogue - Slow (2003)
  7. Sam & Mark - With a Little Help From My Friends (2004)
  8. Busted - Who's David? (2004)
  9. Brian McFadden - Real to Me (2004)
  10. Robbie Williams - Radio (2004)
  11. Ja Rule ft. R Kelly & Ashanti - Wonderful (2004)
  12. U2 - Sometimes You Can't Make It On Your Own (2005)
  13. McFly - I'll Be OK (2005)
  14. Chico - It's Chico Time (2006)
  15. McFly - Don't Stop Me Now / Please, Please (2006)
  16. Westlife - The Rose (2006)
  17. Girls Aloud vs. Sugababes - Walk This Way (2007)
  18. McFly - Baby's Coming Back/Transylvania (2007)
  19. Eva Cassidy & Katie Melua - What a Wonderful World (2007)
  20. Vanessa Jenkins & Bryn West ft. Sir Tom Jones & Robin Gibb - Islands in the Stream (2009)
  21. The X Factor Finalists 2011 ft. JLS & One Direction - Wishing on a Star (2011)
  22. NHS Choir - A Bridge Over You (2015)
  23. Ladbaby - We Built This City (2018)
  24. Ladbaby - I Love Sausage Rolls (2019)
  25. Michael Ball, Captain Tom Moore and The NHS Voices of Care Choir - You'll Never Walk Alone (2020)

'Step Back in Time: The Definitive Collection' managed to hold onto a Top 200 placing last week! Re-entered at #192 with 896 copies, up 55 copies week-on-week (which means it missed out on a chart placing the week before by 6 copies!).

Also... 'Santa Baby' is Gold! :cheer:

SBIT getting close to 1k is really good and hopefully the same this week, if it could shift those numbers each week until the end of the year it would bring it close to a total of 140k.
Great news for SBIT and Santa Baby, the Christmas 2000 B Side that keeps giving.

Aww I had a feeling that it would have missed out by very little in the previous week  Really glad it managed it this week though!

Do we know if SBIT held on to top 200 last week?

Yes

Sorry, I thought that was for the week Disco entered at number 1 not last week?

It was #192 last week and it just missed out by 6 copies the week that ‘DISCO’ entered.

That's great, thank you Liam

No problem. It's not been in the midweeks all week so will likely fall out the chart again.

Oh ok, never mind, at least we have an idea of what it’s selling weekly.

Usually, the first single from the album is more successful but this time around it would appear Magic did better albeit a slightly better chart position!

I think Say Something did better at the start as it was the era opener and got a lot more press.

Magic came out and seemed less of a slow release and they checked out the video etc same day and has been consistent with 3 weeks top 100 now and still stresming well. YouTube views now over 6.5m only 1m less than Say Something now and closing slowly. I think Magic had a bit more radio support but Say Something had more support from like MTV playlisting etc.
