I was so surprised KC had not made the top 200 as it’s streaming Christmas week was significantly better, not just SB.

So I’m pleased to see it did in fact re enter and it was mainly down to streaming.

Nice Disco sales update too….the reductions have prolonged the sales life…just a shame the streaming points aren’t bigger now that the GLE has added some more popular tracks to the top 12 contributors….though over time the trickle streaming will be decent maybe 10k a year.

Thanks for the chart info Jay! Don't suppose you got hold of the latest sales info for 'Santa Baby' too?

Yay! 124k in 2021 then, 44k down on 2020. Might pass 800k in a year's time, at which point it'll be third on her all-time list.
Ooh yes, 680,127! *.*

…wow…no need for a deed to a platinum mine!

Perhaps though ISBSL is doing significantly better on streaming with each passing year so maybe it can hold SB off until 2024.

I doubt it, it won't be doing more than a few thousand each year. Kylie's streaming is generally just too small.

Yes, second thoughts you are correct. Least we have SB and Head reaping some significant streaming benefits.

I think the Locomotion might start to move ahead of the rest in the next year.

Hi everyone. I'm a very new Kylie fan, having only discovered her in December, but she has since become one of my favourite artists, and she is my most played artist on Spotify. I suppose I'm not the target demographic for her music (I wasn't even born until like 7 months after Body Language was released). I'm so happy to find a community of her fans here

I find this very interesting. Going through her Spotify page, it is disappointing to see how low Kylie's streams are. Can't Get You Out of My Head has a solid 263M streams, & earns a very respectable ~225,000 streams on a daily basis on Spotify, and it has improved significantly in recent years, but the rest of her tracks don't fare nearly as well. Her second most streamed non-Christmas song is In Your Eyes with slightly over 46M, and earns around ~50,000 streams daily. The funny thing is that Head will probably get to 500M streams before any other Kylie song even gets to 100M. Why are her streams so disappointing? It's very possible for her to do well there, as evidenced by Head's strong success. My guess is bad playlisting. Honestly if she could manage to release a biopic that does well, her streaming could explode. Her songs sound surprisingly current compared to a lot of her contemporaries', so the material is there. Only the push is lacking.

I'm gonna say it's probably because 'Head' is such a behemoth in her discography, particularly on a worldwide scale and the others are probably generally remembered as retro hits in the UK and Australia, and not anywhere else. Playlisting is probably the most key issue, as is with most things streaming.

This is amazing, but at same time really depressing.

Welcome to the Kylie forum! :D Great to see a new fan discover her music, what are your favourites so far?

Yeah, not being prominent on Spotify playlists is a big part of it, plus I don't think a lot of Kylie music is in the current public psyche, even though they would probably know a lot of the songs if they were played. Other 'legacy' artists have had numerous factors which have brought some of their songs to the public's consciousness again, whether it be usage in films or the internet or TikTok etc.

I love Get Outta My Way, Les Sex, Live A Little, Wow, All I See, Love At First Sight, Fever, Give It To Me, Spinning Around, On A Night Like This, Cowboy Style, Confide In Me, and I Should Be So Lucky, and that's just the top of it.

I really wish Kylie's team would work to increase public remembrance of her music. Too much of their focus is on putting out compilation albums every other year, and while that is a steadier source of revenue, improving her streaming would pay off more in the long run.

Welcome to the forum - always good to see people discovering Kylie for the first time so far into her career :cheer:

Quite a range of songs there! 'Love at First Sight', 'Spinning Around', 'On a Night Like This' and 'Confide in Me' are some of my favourites from what you've listed, plus my favourite 'In Your Eyes'.

Releasing a definitive compilation with 'Step Back in Time' and coinciding it with Glastonbury did do a fair bit to improve Kylie's streaming (we had a big sales update at the same time and subsequently singles have reached new certifications quicker than they were estimated to). I'm not sure if there's a great deal more Kylie's team can do because things like songs taking off on TikTok isn't something that can really be orchestrated by a label. I guess it would help when it comes to performing older songs, they could go for something less obvious instead of the usual Lucky/Locomotion/Spinning/Head/Lovers etc. I was really pleased when 'Slow' was performed on Graham Norton to promote the greatest hits, for instance.

#47 for 'Especially for You' on sales, #45 on downloads.

Love to see it :cheer:

'Higher' is Gold!

It had sold 370k as of w/e 25th July 2019, meaning it's selling ~219 on average per week.
