I've noticed that too. Radio and MTV seem literally neccessary to create a hit now. The main other methods are obviously things such as TV performances and media coverage (recent examples of massive hits that had extensive media coverage at the time are What's My Name?, Price Tag and Someone Like You).

Hasn't this always been the case? (At least if you replace "MTV" with "TV" in general - a "Top of the Pops" performance was a huge boost for most records back in the day)

Calvin Harris'Bounce proving a lot of people wrong, still holding strong at #5 :o

The A Team still #7 too!

While Spaceship is all the way down to #23.

Spaceship is actually holding up quite well I think! Didn't expect it to still be just outside the top 20 one and a half weeks after dropping out of the top 10.

I expected Bounce to hold up well but The A Team is really surprising me still being top 10. :o

Spaceship is actually holding up quite well I think! I expected it to go straight into plummet mode after dropping out of the top 10 like In My System did, but it's still just outside the top 20 2 weeks later.

Really I dont think its holding up well at all, especially with A Team and Bounce still top 10 showing how fast he has in fact dropped. It'll be lucky to spend 4 weeks in top 40 whereas Calvin and maybe even Ed are likely to spend 4 weeks top 10!

The thing is though, with artists hated on Buzzjack, like Dappy and Tinchy Stryder, everybody is always going on about how they go into freefall all the time and all that sort of stuff. So much that I end up genuinely expecting it to happen, so much to the point that I was surprised it was still in the top 10 after a week.

On another note, I hate it when people get artists they don't like and say they freefall all the time. Because, firstly, a song dropping down the charts really fast doesn't make it a bad song, and secondly, such artists usually can have good chart runs anyway. Tinchy and N-Dubz have both had really good chart runs with some of their songs before.

a song dropping down the charts really fast doesn't make it a bad song

No ofcourse not, but in this case this song is dropping quickly because its a bad song as well as a not very popular one. :)

I do agree that the song is poor by Tinchy's standard, to be fair. One of my least favourite of his, at least from the singles.

But you have to remember how long it was held back for. If it was on air, on sale, it would've climbed up the charts, like You're Not Alone and Let it Rain did.

Spaceship must be somewhat popular because remember his last lead single did far, far worse (as did Second Chance of course)!

Is it just me or is Spaceship his least airplay supported song to date? I even heard Second Chance more on the radio. And I've seen the Spaceship video a grand total of once! It's also his only song I never heard before it charted.

I wonder if Tinchy will do better with his next single? Protip: a Tinie Tempah collaboration might be a good idea. (Not that Tinchy is reading this :kink: But you never know)

I heard Spaceship loads on Radio 1, but nowhere apart from that. On Capital, I'm still hearing Number 1 more than Spaceship if I'm honest!!

I think Tinchy has had those like buzz singles though, which I never really heard anywhere, like Stryderman and Gangsta?, I think. There's also Game Over, which I never heard anywhere (apart from the chart show), but that was an album track, so it's understandable.

I also felt I heard Second Chance less than Spaceship.

The song of his I used to hear most on the radio was You're Not Alone. I loved it though. Seriously incredible. Those synths!!! It was so haunting! :D But yeah, Galaxy overplayed it loads at the time.

You never know, Tinchy might be reading. Although I highly doubt it. But I did see a video on youtube of Professor Green looking at the iTunes chart to see where I Need You Tonight was once. :D

 111. Peter Andre - Perfect Night

Am I the only one whose surprised this is even in the top 200? I've seen the video like once on TV.

 128. Britney Spears - I Wanna Go :(

Example is already down to 0.780459 :o

Factoring in the second versions of both Louder and CTWYKM, he's at 0.734784 (and even lower when factoring in the two other Louder remixes and its massive EP sales, which I can't combine in)

Crystalline @ 182. Even though she's more of an album's artist nowadays it would have been nice for this to have done well especially when the likes of Peter Andre are way above her :( 182 is better than nothing though I suppose. Just hope the whole Biophillia project creates a lot more fans and the album does well now.

 11. How We Roll (feat. Tanya Lacey) - Loick Essien

 40. Louder (Club Mix) - DJ Fresh

:ne: 110. Bad Behaviour - Jedward

 130. Freedom for Palestine - OneWorld

 137. Louder (Flux Pavilion & Doctor P Remix) - DJ Fresh

 156. Louder (Drumsound & Bassline Smith Remix) - DJ Fresh

Jedward were probably there before but I didn't see them :P

Those DJ Fresh remixes have slowed right down. The Club Mix has climbed exactly one place through the whole Chart Show.

The Radio Edit has now pushed Example down to 0.648389 though. And factoring in both versions of both songs, Example is at 0.617868.

Woo! DJ Fresh :cheer: I always knew it was going to be massive, but its still pleasing to see it doing so well, I guess the real question is how much it will sell - I think it could rival OTF's first week sales, probably not Grenade's though as single sales aren't that high atm

lol only heard Bad behaviour on YouTube. That video is so funny.

I dont like that song that much though...they're trying to be americans.

That Peter Andre song is a shocker! Was this played or performed on his show? I've heard it, and it's a very banal ballad.

Jedward - well can't they f off to America? We don't want them here.
