Wow, so you could have been in the final tonight if Persephonia had voted in the semi :o

I know :( I was 15th! But equally if Lotopialand (Aled?) had voted then they would've been in my would-be place!

I remind you that it's ENTIRELY the host's fault that I didn't vote <_<

What's your excuse for the final?

Lotopialand is Conor!

As for going back on topic, Swagger Jagger is heading straight to #1!

Bray did vote for the final, but he has failed to vote 3 times this year (along with BaNG and New Caprica)

My mistake!

WTF IS A SWAGGER JAGGER

The saying is Swagger Jacker

who the f*** wrote it

I like the verses and intro infact everything but the chorus ok

numerb1.

I hope it gets to #1. I love Cher!

The song is okay. The chorus is more generic than I was hoping though. :( I love the verses though, and the bit at the end is cool! :D

But I can genuinely see a campaign being done to stop Cher getting the #1. I think some people are underestimating how hated she is. :(

Most of her haters are teenages, I dont think they will waste there money to stop her to be honest haha.

A campaign to stop Cher getting to #1? She's hardly as hated as the X Factor itself, and even that campaign failed last year.

This will be a #1, sadly. The only good thing is it will knock JLS off, but I think I'd have to go back quite a while to find a couplet of #1s I'd like less (and no, I'm not just saying this to be overdramatic, going by the discussion earlier in the week about people proclaiming everything to be the worst #1 ever )

The song is borderline novelty though, not helped by the juvenile lyrics and concept, so I wouldn't be that surprised if she was a one-hit wonder. Hardly a very good choice for a debut single if she wants to be taken as a more serious musician...

I think she's got a lot of older haters too though. Like the conservative-type adults.

I mean, when we put ourselves in the position of, say, a 50 year-old who likes pop music and rock music. They hate kids who speak in slang, they hate rappers, think they're too liberal and a bad influence to society, they hate music that doesn't use guitars, and so on. Imagine that sort of person, and then they watch the X Factor. For 6 years they've had fun watching people singing Livin' on a Prayer and Total Eclipse of the Heart every week.

Then, shock, horror, this teenage girl comes and sings Soulja Boy, of all people, as her audition! Then, even worse, she's applauded, praised, and even called "original"! The media go crazy about her, and there's loads of hype.

Then, things get steadily worse. In the live shows, she sings Professor Green one week, then Dizzee Rascal the other week. She even performs Jay-Z and Eminem songs, TWICE!

Of course, I loved all of this. But some people will really hate her. On Digital Spy she's very hated, and when people comment on news articles, it connects to their facebook pages, and a lot of the people who hate on her seem surprisingly old (it's shocking really, because if I saw those people in real life, I'd think they were upper class, posh, polite people). Unless they're using fake profile pictures, but I doubt that.

In general, pretty much anybody who gets hyped up by the media these days ends up very hated.

Cher is hated by most X Factor fans AND the X Factor haters. So she's more hated than the show itself.

There are loads and LOADS of people who hate the X Factor who don't even WATCH the show, they simply hate the concept of it. So I highly doubt they would even recognise a contestant on the show, let alone have any energy to hate her. She is in no way more hated than the show itself.

There's a massive difference between pressing dislike on a YouTube video and actually wasting money to stop Cher from getting to #1. It's a very small minority who would do that. Most people honestly don't care that much about the charts or whether Cher gets a #1 single.

Plus, there wouldn't be anywhere near enough time to gain support for a campaign to stop Cher from getting #1, unless it was a RATM-styled position of putting forward a song. Remember the RATM and even the Bird is the Word campaigns took months to build up their followers, so unless there's a campaign already starting now, I wouldn't hold your breath considering there's less than a month until it's out. But certainly a "buy the song at #2" would probably fail, as it would only be announced at the beginning of the week and have to somehow pick up enough support by the Saturday evening.

I'm in that age-bracket and its true. Why - only this coming Thursday at our Saga meeting, in a break between the knitting-pattern-swap and how best to repair our wigs, there's going to be a special half hour barn-storming exercise on how best we can stop this cute little dwarf from getting to number 1.

 I know some younger people that wear wigs too though.

Btw, I want Cher to get #1 too! Don't worry, I also don't want there to be a campaign!! :o

depends on who releases in the same week. i liked the vibe of the song when i first heard it on radio 1 but the more i hear of it the more it just sounds like a jumbled mess

Anybody who purchases this is a complete and utter nobhead.

Omg dis is so obvs gona b numba1, any1 who say anythin else is a hata. Cher is da best @ singing!

You know or something like that! :P

Honnetly, I think it will probably get to about number 4, it deserves to only get to about number 23 but will no doubt do a lot better. Hope she can come up with something better to launch the album off of. Especialy if she is going to get an X Factor slot to promot herself in.

I will honestly be gobsmacked if this doesn't make number 1, with sales of 100k plus, the only way it won't make number 1 is if it's a massive selling number 2 and a charity single is released.

Ha! Oh Joshy! :( Do I have to bring up the thing about the Glee forum, again :kink:

Anyway for the fans...

Cher Lloyd 'Swagger Jagger' (MP3 Pre-Order)

She looks like a deluded brat from a Fanta advert in the video.
