It only need to sell about 3k to go top 40 so it could conceivably just sneak in I reckon, especially as the only other top 40 entrants will be 3 Amy Winehouse entries and Little Dragon.

But it's more likely it will miss out. I'm surprised it's as high as #51 on iTunes Albums to be honest :P

I'm not, iirc Aggrosantos.com went fairly high on iTunes (by 'fairly' I mean they didn't miss the Top 100 as you'd think), but dodged to Top 100 completely. I'm comparing them as the both seem to be what I'd call cheap rappers (samples/cheese) and I think their sales patterns will be very similar (especially with their albums). Therefore I think that Mann's will be largely iTunes based, and therefore due to their comparitavely low (compared to CD) sales with albums, I think it could well even miss the Top 100.

Watch as I'm proved wrong on Sunday... :P

Where did Little Dragon spring from, and how are they predicted a top 10 album? Just given Ritual Union a listen though and it's great, might have to download the album!

They've been around a while and 'Wildfire' (singer Yukimi's collaboration with SBTRKT) and 'Ritual Union' have both received R1 support. That coupled with the fact it's just outside the iTunes Albums top 10 (with the single top 100) and the rock bottom album sales have hit recently, I can easily see it shifting the ~10k it'll need to go top 10.

Hmm, you could be right I guess, now you throw up Aggro Santos as an example. But I still don't think it'll miss the top 100 entirely given how dreadful album sales are at the moment.

With Amy Winehouse tracks doing so well it emphasizes how mainstream the public are.

Aggro Santos also had 3 singles before his album therefore meaning people who purchased all three would have got the album for cheaper. Aggro also had I'm a celebrity which should have boosted his popularity, his label record should have released the album when he was entering the jungle. So stupid.

Oh OK. Thanks for the info :) I loved Wildfire when you entered it BJSC, never knew the vocalist though. And Ritual Union is a great discovery. I think it's fair enough, the prediction. If an 'alternative' act can get a top 100 hit, the albums for said genre usually do so much better, it will probably sell somwhere in between 5 and 10k, so I agree, it should be top 15 at the least.

Except bizarrely Foster The People whose album hasn't done very well at all despite 'Pumped Up Kicks' being the biggest first single for an indie/rock act since The Pretty Reckless' Make Me Wanna Die!

I bet I've jinxed 'Ritual Union' now and it'll end up flopping in at about #29

Yeah, I think if Aggro couldn't do it, Mann doens't stand a chance. I don't mean this in a bad way, as most of the songs I've heard from Mann are good imo, but who would buy his album? He doesn't have any fans. I think with some rappers like Wiz, just because he's so insanely popular in the US, he can end up with a few more fans in the UK, through the Internet, but Mann and Aggros Santos have almost non-existant fanbases there.

I did think Like U Like was going to be bigger because of I'm a Celebirty. The song is so catchy aswell. Much catchier than even Candy imo, which ended up being a big hit.

Just plain bizarre. :S

iTunes Update:

[18] 15| Maverick Sabre - Let Me Go

Just heard this for the first time - sounds like the singer has been sniffing helium! :P

Back To Black now just 0.1% off #5 :w00t: Get in that top 5! (It's a full 3.7% ahead of #7 as well)
That made no sense at all.

It really didnt.

Nicki #11

Adele #12 COME ON ADELE!

Maverick #13

Adele - Set Fire To The Rain #11

Nicki Minaj - Superbass #11

Amy Winehouse - Back To Black has now fallen 2% behind Beyonce. Meanwhile The Wanted are still increasing. 53.6% on Jls... No doubt come tonight it will be around 60% and come Friday Wanted may climb back to top. Jls are so frontloaded.

Just got back from Ireland, and even though I am very upset about Amy Winehouse's death, and I'm glad to see 'Back To Black' the highest of all her songs. Simply Stunning. Hopefully it manages to be her highest peaking song (excluding 'Valerie' which is Mark Ronson's). Speaking of which, I hope that gets combined along with 'Back To Black', as having them 'un-combined' is ridiculous!

I'm liking (for the first time ) that JLS are #1, I hope it stays around for along time too, so it can become their most successful single! I haven't heard 'Let Me Go' in full yet, but after listening to the iTunes preview, it wasn't what I was expecting. Sounds very classy and I'm intrigued to hear the rest ^_^

And I am LOVING that 'Rain Over Me' is doing climbing pretty quickly, it was around #130 last night, but it's now #110!

Oh what, Amy is falling again :( Meh, hopefully should stay top 5 officially at the weekend.

You make it out that The Wanted are gaining really quickly. They're not. At all. They've gained a full 2% since last night. SMMW is holding up extremely well by JLS' standards. Feel free to quote me on this if it does start plummetting later but at the moment it's doing fine.

I highly doubt The Wanted will overtake JLS before Cher does.

The video having a great effect for ROM then  Hope it breaks Pitbull's curse of one big hit per album (I know Hotel Room Service was kind of big, but nowhere near as big as I Know You Want Me)! Also great to see Amy's best song, and of the best songs of all time, finally near the top 5 - except it's in such sad circumstances :( I'm still devastated!

I agree the albums should definitely be combined but I don't see any problem with the two versions of Valerie charting separately. It's a simialr situation to say, 'Show Me Love' by Robin S. / Steve Angello and Laidback Luke feat. Robin S..

I agree, while it would be nice for Valerie to be a bit higher so the legend that is Amy Winehouse has another song top 40, it makes sense for them for them to be seperate, they are two different versions of the song. While they are versions of the same song, they are totally different, so I can't see sense in combining them tbh, just because Amy sings on both.

What is the difference (if any) between the two versions of Valerie - Amy solo and Mark ft. Amy? Because IIRC, they are both identical, therefore should be combined for chart purposes.

Whereas BTB and BTB(D) are clearly different as the Deluxe album contains additional tracks, and therefore should chart separately.
