July 26, 201114 yr With the other JLS song prob going to added to the main version above tomorrow etc; would that mean their sales are prob nearer 50k. for today...???
July 26, 201114 yr Author So do we reckon the OCC will combine the BTB album sales by Sunday? No those sales will be separate, Zeuss commented on the album, if you back up a few posts.
July 26, 201114 yr JLS peak sales: 121,809 Everybody In Love 118,551 Love You More 106,299 Beat Again 84,283 The Club Is Alive 44,522 Eyes Wide Shut (feat. Tinie Tempah) ~38-42k* One Shot *The exact sales for One Shot when it was #6 weren't listed in the MW report - anyone have a better estimate? Edited July 26, 201114 yr by Bré
July 26, 201114 yr Yeah Martin. A shame that. It would have almost certainly been number 1 if combined! :(
July 26, 201114 yr aha... imagine if the top 10 comprised of the 2x different versions of each album. Would that be a first time thing?
July 26, 201114 yr Author Is notorious out of top 40 11 new tracks in the 40, one good thing the Amy tracks has cleared a lot of deadwood from the likes of Foster The People (oops), Nicole, Saturdays, LMFAO/Natalia, Mann, Vato, Adele [RITD], J.lo/Lil'Wayne, Snoop Dogg, Chase & Status and Jessie J. It was a few posts back, wakey wakey :P
July 26, 201114 yr Amy Winehouse takeover :o She'll be #1 on the album chart by Sunday, i'm sure very small gap. Adele  18 weeks already at #1! Amazing.
July 26, 201114 yr Folks, I know Amy Winehouse has died but, if you bought (or rebought) any of her records this week could you tell me why you did it? I've never quite understood the post-death records rush, it's strange.
July 26, 201114 yr Another f***ing abysmal no.1 single Oh no. What a terrible shame you don't like it. :teresa:

I've never quite understood the post-death records rush, it's strange. Increased exposure of her songs from TV channels playing tribute programmes = increased sales. Simple. Her material hasn't had this much exposure since 2007, if ever. I don't think anyone's rebuying them unless they previously deleted or lost them, in which case the use of a song on the X Factor could have the same effect. This is just on a bigger scale because several of her songs are getting huge exposure instead of just one. Edited July 26, 201114 yr by Bré
July 26, 201114 yr Happy to see Amy Winehouse top 5 with BTB ^_^ Hope she peaks at least 6 with it! Btw, it's really not JLS' fault that she's not number 1, just because they released their 2nd best track and it's done well :P
July 26, 201114 yr Increased exposure of her songs from TV channels playing tribute programmes = increased sales. Simple. Exactly Bre its SO simple why cant people get their heads around it. Her music is everywhere, her name is everywhere, her pictures are everywhere. This material is relatively old people may have started to like it now, or just being reminded about some of the song then downloading them, what do people want to happen, nothing? Just dont get where people are confused or bitter about it.
July 26, 201114 yr I'm not bitter. But I think there's more to it than that. When Kurt Cobain died, it wasn't hugely reported...there was no rolling news and the media wasn't quite so celeb-fixated - yet Nirvana began to sell more records than they ever had done during Cobain's time alive. I think some people find death quite alluring and they want to interact with a dead artist's music far more than they ever did before - looking for hidden messages in lyrics etc.

His death only had a small boost in sales. Look at the chart runs round about april 1994, highest position was 18 for a week. http://www.chartstats.com/artistinfo.php?id=458
July 26, 201114 yr No, i wasnt saying you personally were bitter, but trust me there are bitter people out there regarding this and its actually upsetting that people can be so bitter. Edited July 26, 201114 yr by Karma
