Nothing is beating 'The Lazy Song' for worst #1 of the year.

I hate Bruno Mars so much, but there's something about 'The Lazy Song' that I just can't dislike! :(

I actually really don't know which song I'd say is the worst number 1 of the year. none of them have really been terrible, the worst ones have just been average. I may have to be a little controversial and say 'someone like you', although that's mainly been down to radio kill. I lvoed it originally, and it's a damn sight better than 'rolling in the deep' that's for sure. :puke:

I'm the opposite, I don't have anything against Bruno Mars although his music isn't interesting (credit where credit's due, 'Grenade' is a well written song). This however is embarrassing, it sounds like he literally farted it out in his sleep.

I understand why some people are neglectful towards Cher Lloyd's 'Swagger Jagger' - but if you'd rather something else by #1 - the solution is to download that INSTEAD.

I for one am pleased that [sJ] is a top, although another JLS one-weeker never looks good on lists of number-one singles. Obviously it was heavily front-loaded, so I imagine the pop bar of JLS will catch-up during the week; but good a contestant that finished FIFTH to potentially get a #1 single.

11. Rizzle Kicks 'Down With the Trumpets' :left:

19. Foster the People 'Pumped Up Kicks'

22. Tinie Tempah ft. Wiz Khalifa 'Till I'm Gone'

31. Christina Perri 'Jar of Hearts'

34. Eminem 'Space Bound'

38. The Throne ft. Otis Redding 'Otis'

54. Robyn 'Call Your Girlfriend'

^ Here's hoping The Throne, Perri and Eminem can all crack the T40 this week - while TT, FTP and RK should all enjoy quite big climbs. I imagine Tinie Tempah will just crack the T30, Foster the People will hopefully crack the T25 and Rizzle Kicks should crack the T15 - but I think it's iTune position isn't representative of overall digital sales.

What happened to Dev's 'In the Dark' release? And do we reckon any tracks from The Throne's 'Watch the Throne' album will chart - there's been a lot of talk surrounding 'Lift Off (feat. Beyonce)'.

I agree with that. I liked Someone Like You at first, but I'm really beginning not to like it now. For me to like a song, I have to be able to listen to it hundreds of times, and still like it. Someone Like You isn't standing the test of time for me. Although it sort of serves her right for making such radio-friendly songs. Some drums would be nice to hear in the chart once in a while? That's why I prefer SFTTR.

About The Lazy Song, to me, it essentially seems like Billionaire, but more radio-friendly (i.e. less rapping and swearing), and with boring lyrics. Billionaire was quite an entertaining song, thanks to the lyrics.

And I'm sure Lift Off would be cherry-picked the most from the album.

Wow! Look at Cher's lead! Insane! I am really pleased for her, =]!

'The Throne'?

Anyway, Grenade is still the worst #1 of the year for me but if 'Louder' continues to get worse on every listen that could easily overtake it...

I cannot believe people think the Lazy Song is worse than SJ. It may not be a masterpiece but it certainly is compared to that awful Cher Lloyd 'song'. Perhaps Bruno should do a new song about his BJ haters and go to no.1 like Cher. Seriously I quite liked her on X Factor but Swagger Jagger has an awful title, awful video, is an awful song and she comes across as so vile in it. The UK literally lap anything up.
Party Rock Anthem is the worst for me :puke: And Someone Like You is the best, followed by On The Floor.

I heard "The Throne" is the new name of the hip hop group consisting of Kanye West and Jay-Z.

For me, I don't really care about song titles and music videos. Or else I'd probably be a Lady Gaga fan.

The songs themselves, I find The Lazy Song boring, and Swagger Jagger not boring, so I prefer Swagger Jagger.

Cher finished fourth behind One Direction, Rebecca and Matt - same place as Diana

Although they are currently credited as Jay-Z & Kanye West on both 'Otis' and 'H.A.M.' - they are officially now called 'The Throne' - a rapper pairing that formed in 2010 and are due to release their debut album tomorrow. I really hope it sells well, permitting 'Otis' is taken off the £9.99 price, I'll be completing album early tomorrow morning - if not I'll pick up a physical copy before work.

EDIT: Cher finished fourth? I always thought Mary Byrne finished fourth. Oh well. She can be the second 4th place contestant to get a #1!

Huh, they are called 'The Throne' now it seems. Weird.

Yes. So their album title is essentially demanding that we watch them.
