Off topic but The Saturdays were supposed to premier their new music video today but apparently a Sony/Universal building has been destroyed due to the riots in London and all their recordings may have been destroyed! :o

Why the random Bob Marley in the top 100?

Especially as it's 'Album Only'

EDIT: Released today apparently... and is a charity single for Save the Children. Showing up as album only because you have to pay 99p for a two track 'EP' bundled with the video.

Actually loving how fast Nicole Scherzinger is climbing now :cheer:. I hope it could break the top 25 tonight and enter the midweek top 40 tomorrow.
If it or any of the other singles actually had competition then they wouldn't be anywhere near as high as they are.

JLS, Cher, The Wanted etc are lucky in chart run turns of the dead weeks; however the sales aren't going to reflective of the chart runs

All you're posts seem to be dragging Cher down, Whether sales are low or not shes still holding up well, You can clearly see am a Cher fan! So why quote me & be negative? :\

I'd be more worried about people you're supporting sales wise then JLS,Cher, The Wanted who have all had #1 :)

Erm... no they dont, - I havent commented on Cher since last week and wasn't commenting souly on Cher in that post (to my memory - but feel free to go through my recent posts and prove me wrong)...

As for the people 'I'm supporting' - they are doing well for the type of acts and exposure they have had in the media spotlight + shows they have been on to promote themselves . And quite a number of the acts 'I'm supporting' have had number 1's this year already. However a number 1 does not make an act - you have to have the sales and logevity to go with it.

Did anyone watch American Idol this year Pia Toscano will be releasing This Time next week. Not sure if it is a strong enough debut but it is okay.

This Time flopped on US iTunes (it peaked at 80something I think and missed the Hot 100) a few weeks ago, I love it though!

I'm sure it peaked high after she performed it on So You Think You Can Dance? About #36

Maybe it'll do better in the UK, due to it's recent 6th place in BJSC :kink:

Oh  The highest I saw it was 80something but I don't look that often so I missed it clearly :P It did miss the Hot 100 though (it peaked at 5 on the 'bubbling under' chart, which is 105 on the Hot 100).

:kink: Hope so!

I should think The Wanted at least can be pleased with their sales. They'll have passed 300k by the end of this week. Only their second single to do so. I'd hardly call that 'lucky' because of the quiet charts as of late. They'd have surely fallen a bit faster if they'd been more competition but I doubt the sales would've changed.

JLS are the real LUCKY ones. I'd have expected them to have fallen out of the itunes top 10 by now.

It's a shame Selena gets zero support in the UK. Her singles (aside from Naturally) always seem to go top 75 for a week or two, and the albums have all went top 15 and then plummeted. She never gets played on the radio nor any music channels. It's a shame because her material is actually okay.

I don't know, this album seems to be holding up quite a bit better than her other ones.

 3. Promises - Nero :cheer:

They should be within 5% of #2 now. :D (I say 'should be' because LivePopBars has, as usual, not updated)

 112. I Predict a Riot - Kaiser Chiefs

#1, Saying a song is "lucky" to get #1, whilst I do understand what people mean, is still kind of flawed really. You get #1, and it's an achievement, even if you sell 50,000 in the week. Lots of artists can only dream of that. You could also say that Someone Like You was lucky to get lots of weeks at #1. Or that Chipmunk was unlucky not to get #1.

I laughed more than I probably should have.

About 2 hours later

JLS 100% (=)

Guetta ~91.2% (+0.9)

Cher ~87.7% (+0.4)

Nero ~85.4% (+1.3) ▲

Perri ~85.0% (-0.8) ▼

Ed ~73.5% (-0.8)

Wanted ~71.5% (-1.3)

Rizzle ~63.9% (+0.3)

Beyoncé ~61.3% (+0.2)

Fresh ~55.3% (-0.1)

#100 DJ Fresh - Louder 5.1131% (-0.273)

So JLS are gaining again, just Guetta, Cher and Nero (and also Rizzle Kicks and Beyoncé) are gaining faster. Only 5.8% left to make up for Nero to get to #2 :D

About 4 hours later (now LPB is updated)...

JLS 100% (=)

Guetta ~92.1% (+0.9)

Nero ~88.5% (+3.1) ▲

Cher ~88.3% (+0.6) ▼

Perri ~80.7% (-4.3 :drama:)

Ed ~74.0% (+0.5)

Wanted ~72.6% (+1.1)

Rizzle ~64.7% (+0.8)

Beyoncé ~62.0% (+0.7)

Fresh ~55.7% (+0.4)

#100 Jessie - NP 5.3245% (+0.2114)

Perri plummetting :( Ed and The Wanted are going to re-overtake her at this rate... Nero 3.6% behind Guetta now :D JLS back in descent.

It's weird how Cher fell down to #4, and managed to climb to #3 TWICE, considering everybody thought she'd be in freefall, and initially people predicted she'd be as low as #7 on iTunes by Sunday (i.e. 2 days ago).

She's down to #4 again though, and I actually can't see her climbing again this time.

David Guetta's climbing very fast now. It would be fantastic if he could get top 10 on iTunes! It's very strange why his songs always climb so slowly on their first day of release though.
