The new Yasmin song is so average, I was so disappointed after how amazing both Finish Line and On My Own were :(

Joe Jonas not climbing enough for my liking :( So much different from his Jo-Bro stuff, I love it and have done for months - still not bored of it!

Happy Set Fire To The Rain hasnt been pushed down too much, #15 still.

Someone Like You still #37 too!

Also did anyone else know Joe Jonas new song was out, I havent heard it yet, might give it a listen, havent really heard any of his material with his brothers. At #35 so far.

Wet & Who's Laughing Now should get good climbs officially if they keep it up at #23 & #25.

I hope Wet could break the top 20 on Itunes before Tuesday so she has a chance of getting a new peak at around #25 this week! Hoping it also gets playlisted by BBCRadio1

2006 was a great year for music IMO. The charts were really filled with great songs then too, more movement, new entries in the top 40/10 each week. I think the charts might be starting to return to this now :)

i think your right in regards to the charts changing in 2011....there is definately been more variety starting to creep into the top 40 with more ballad and rock/indie starting to make an impact, although the old popular bands from the mid nougties are having no sucess at all with their new material(although kasabian could be an exception!!

Emeli looks like she could be #1 by the end of tomorrow and Maroon 5 looks safe at #3 :)

modestep falling already, emeli will be no1 then.nero will fall to no5 and christina perri should increase in sales...i just wonder what the top 2 are selling??

great to see some random hits in the top 40 in the past few weeks, inc maroon 5 making a first return since 2007 i think and aguliera too (havent even heard the song its just good to see some classic chart artists) and christina perri with her radio 2 hit!!also will young hopefully next week.....

Modestep aren't falling, their percentage is falling but only because Wretch is increasing his lead over everyone (except Emeli).

I hope Best Thing I never Had reclimbs into the top 10 on Itunes, as BBC3 are showing Beyonce's headlining Glastonbury set again! Maybe her album will receive some sort of boost aswell.

Nicole Scherzinger should go to number #22 soon.

I didn't like it the first few times I heard it, but it is definitely a grower. It will probably never be as good as On My Own and Finish Line (as they are nothing short of genius) but after a few listens I think the vocals work really well in contrast with the instrumental! ^_^

OneRepublic's song went top 10 in the US, so it could do well here, but that type of music isn't as popular in the UK as it is over there.

Team Emeli

Not quite "falling like a stone" considering 3 of the top 10 are NEW ENTRIES which were released this week and haven't exactly had a quiet release. I think Cher's holding up REALLY well considering people (myself included) were expecting her to be low top 20/top 30 on iTunes by now.
I'm completely amazed that a collaboarion of has-beens is in the top 3, although I will admit I do rather like the song. First J-Lo and Nicole Scherzinger score big #1s this year and now this, there must be hope for any former stars out there...
