WRWWR has sold over 320K, though and done okay in the charts even though it left the top 40 rather quickly.

And already this year I can name Swagger Jagger, Promises and Don't Go as "non-#1"'s.

I discussed this quite a lot at the end of 2010 I think. I can't remember the exact figures, so what I say might be a bit wrong, but I believe every #1 by a UK artist in 2010 spent 10 weeks or less in the top 40 apart from Pass Out, Written in the Stars and Dynamite (interestingly, those aritsts are popular in the US now, as are the two British artists who've had good chart runs with their #1s in 2011 aswell (Adele and Jessie J)).

And in contrast, every #1 by a non-British artist in 2010 spent 10+ weeks in the top 40 in 2010, apart from Beautiful Monster.

Practically polar-opposites. I know I've said this like a million times, but this can't be coincidence. As someone else said though, it's probably more to do with the way the artists release, rather than their nationality.

Cher Lloyd was no.1 a few weeks ago and I can think of numerous times between that and Beautiful Girls where the no.1 was a million times worse than Moves Like Jagger. The track is extremely popular, a lot more than many thought it'd be. There's no way it would be 'worst no.1 since' anything. Personally, it'd be my favourite no.1 of the year but sadly I don't think it'll happen.
We get it!!! You don't like Maroon 5 MLJ. Crying out loud lol!!

MLJ the worst #1 since "Beautiful Girls"? Don't speak rubbish. Don't take offence to this and I get you don't like the track as you have mentioned on numerous occasions but from the consensus on this forum, most people like the song. Not that your opinion is any less valid on that point :)

It's just his opinion!!!

Although I also disagree with him. Beautiful Girls was soooo boring though, and I'm sure it wouldn't have been as popular if it wasn't for the suicide thing. But I can also think of quite a few worse #1s, and Moves Like Jagger definitely wouldn't be one of them!

If other people are allowed to constantly say how much they love MLJ and want it to be #1 etc. then I'm allowed to constantly say the opposite. Don't have double standards :P I don't see you complaining about T Boy posting just as much about the song as me if not more.

Sean Kingston in general is crap, literally my favourite of his is Eenie Meenie :o Considering it has Bieber on it I'd expect otherwise but it's Sean's only bearable song for me.
I really like Sean Kingston's music in all fairness. Fire Burning, Eenie Meenie, Party All Night & Beautiful Girl are all quite good.

Anyway, I take back about MLJ being the worst #1 since Beautiful Girls. It's actually the worst #1 since 'All Summer Long'. 'Mercy' is also worse than BG.

Mercy was awful, I remember being gutted it held Leona Lewis (Better In Time) being number one. I also hated Chico time and must I really have to start on anything produced by Scouting For Girls (Apart from James Bond)

Mercy is AMAZING

Totally agree on All Summer Long though, I mean HOW did that get anywhere higher than number 187 or something? Abysmal 'song' - murdered Sweet Home Alabama :(

Forgot All Summer Long went to number one :( :puke2: atrocious song, what did it beat to number one again?

Don't bring me into it. I state that I like the song and why, I don't post sweeping statements like 'it's the worst no.1 since....' without backing it up when you know it'll rub a lit of posters up the wrong way.

And Mercy was a divine no.1. But I won't bang on about it for your sake.

Mercy was one of the most overrated songs of the year, even worse that my parents loved it :( thankfully she's probably not gonna be coming back

I didn't get the hate with All Summer Long, I thought it was decent enough, although it's not aged well

It was more a case of sales for 'Dance Wiv Me' were on the decline after four weeks at #1 whilst Kid Rock continued to climb his way to no. 1, but then I actually liked 'All Summer Long'.

How exactly would I 'back it up'? It's an opinion

I have just as much right to express my dislike for the song as you and everyone else has the right to express their like or dislike for it. It's a music discussion forum, not a 'like Maroon 5 or you'll be banned' forum.

Dance Wiv Me made it 4 weeks at the top of the official charts, wow.... thank god the charts are changing! Shout was also another awful number one!

Anyway, top 100 update (from 9:30pm as I wasn't here at 8pm) coming up. David Guetta has 10 different songs and 12 entries (including the album versions of WTGA and LBG) in the top 100! Helped slightly by 'Who's That Chick? (Afrojack Remix)' and 'Club Can't Handle Me' being 59p of course but that's still extremely impressive.

Dance Wiv Me was a very good song though. I had a funny moment with it a few weeks ago, where I saw this woman dancing to the song in her car at some traffic lights. She looked really stupid, and she clearly thought nobody was looking, and then she turned around to see me staring at her, and got all embarrassed. It was very funny, but I can fully understand. The song does that to people!! I'll always remember Dance Wiv Me, since it was a big song when I was doing my GCSEs.

The #1s after that all sucked though (in my opinion). I really didn't like any of All Summer Long, I Kissed a Girl, So What and Sex on Fire. Interestly though, I know they're not proper rock songs, but I think they all had a rock-y feel to them. That's like a whole summers-worth of #1s which have rock-influences, and just a few years later we've had like one rock song in the top 10 this year so far.

actually, the last 'worst' number 1 for me is, here it comes, 'bad boys'. terrible noisy song and easily the worst song of 2009. :puke: I can see that title being held for a while too.

For me, the worst number 1s since 2008 are:

Singin' In The Rain - mainly the connatations with cunty George Sampson

All Summer Long - murdered Sweet Home Alabama

Greatest Day - Just DULL. HOW did Up All Night () miss top 10 and this get to number 1?

Sexy Bitch - bleh, so generic!

The Official BBC Children in Need Medley - Two words - Russian Roulette.

Killing In The Name - Stupid campaign, and it's just noise!

Dirtee Disco - So crap compared to the amazing Dance Wiv Me and Holiday...

Shout - Just total crap. Just because of the world cup everyone loved it :(

Forget You - Overplayed and overrated. Total crap.

Party Rock Anthem - Generic, overplayed.
