September 3, 201113 yr #79 smash hit. #179 more likely. I like the song, and it makes a big difference to her three previous club banging singles. MAYBE because of this the radios will back up her this time but it's very unlikely. I hope for a top-40 but realistically top-100 at very best.
September 4, 201113 yr Well she is actually in the UK during the release for this, if she wants an X Factor slot, I'm sure she'll get one. I DOUBT it will happen though. It's not like she's been able to promote "I Wanna Go" anywhere, she's been touring. yeah i forgot that she's touring during the release, so this actually could scrap top75 or more
September 16, 201113 yr she did yesterday 3 radio interviews (BBC Radio 1, Kiss FM, Capital FM) and she still have few TV interviews. This will definitely help to Criminal, so I think this could go in Top 50 now. More info here http://www.buzzjack.com/forums/index.php?s...p;#entry3739094

September 16, 201113 yr In a way I feel sorry for her but in a way I dont. She generally has great material (I personally think the new album is her worst) but doesnt really do that well with it these days. Then again, if she cant even be arsed to do any promotion what so ever in a country where her popularity is in freefall then its her own fault.

She IS doing promotion here...
September 16, 201113 yr Have you not read a few posts above? She IS doing promotion here... wow finally doing promotion for the 4th single from her worst selling album. She is about 3 single to late. Too little to late for this era. Maybe she will learn for the next album
September 16, 201113 yr She's doing a bit of promotion for this on UK radio stations so hopefully top 75 isn't out of the question. Top 40 would be lovely though :P
September 16, 201113 yr she did interviews for MTV UK and Loose Woman, + there will be few more. :P It's never late for an album which has sold 80,000+ copies, there is still room for increase in sales!

I still cant believe its only sold that much. That is beyond terrible. I dont think its a great album but it def deserves more than that. She needs to learn from this for the next album.
September 16, 201113 yr it's not only Britney's fault for bad sales, UK radios and media totally ignored her, so it's fault from both sides. she did 3 radio interviews and 6 tv interviews that will boost sales a bit.

You cant blame the media for her laziness. Its not their job to promote her. She has to promote herself. If she came over to the UK to promote then she would prob get more radio/tv. I think the balme has to go to Britney, management and record label. Edited September 16, 201113 yr by Dannyboy
September 16, 201113 yr To be fair, a lot of other artists have MASSIVE hits without ever coming to the UK, so you'd think Britney could get one week in the top 40? When did Bruno Mars come to the UK to promote Just the Way You Are? When did David Guetta come to the UK to promote Sexy Chick? When did Eminem come to the UK to promote Love the Way You Lie? When did LMFAO come to the UK to promote Party Rock Anthem? I could go on.

But if your a massive star and your album is bombing you would think you would try and do something about it.
September 16, 201113 yr As I said it's fault from both sides, TTWE and IWG both were ignored by BBC Radio 1 and both flopped on airplay chart, IWG didn't even reached top 100 peak. Look at France all singles from this era went in top 10 (HIAM #4 TTWE #8 IWG #5) and all three were huge airplay hits HIAM peaked in top 10, TTWE and IWG both were #1. She didn't promote there neither but they supported her very well. Just look at this http://comparemyradio.com/artists/Britney_Spears 698 tracks played by Britney on UK radios in last 30 days compare to other pop singers Rihanna 9,449 Lady Gaga 8,336 Beyonce 8,259 etc.. and that is not ignoring?
September 16, 201113 yr You can't blame Britney. Promo only gets you so far, and anyway if she gets shit all radio play then being on Loose Women won't help to be honest. Thankfully she has done some promo for a small boost, but if radio ignore Criminal it will do as bad or probably even worse than I Wanna Go. You can't just appear on a few radio stations and get a hit. For some reason, radio just see Britney as a kind of 'taboo' these days and she can't do anything about that.

Noone is saying she gets great airplay. She doesnt. And thats exactly the reason why she should be over here promoting herself and performing on tv like other acts do. You can't blame Britney. Promo only gets you so far, and anyway if she gets shit all radio play then being on Loose Women won't help to be honest. Thankfully she has done some promo for a small boost, but if radio ignore Criminal it will do as bad or probably even worse than I Wanna Go. Of course you can blame Britney. Promo only gets you so far but doing zero promo gets you nowhere in the case of Britney. Loose Women may not get her to number 1 but im sure it would get here higher than doing nothing what so ever. Fact is if you cant get airplay then get you ass on tv instead of doing f*** all
September 16, 201113 yr :o I have never seen a result like that on one of these polls! It is true though. Also the debate on promotion, for artists like Britney, it may be best not to come over and promote, may do more harm then good. Edited September 16, 201113 yr by Karma
