111, although not sure where is charted last week not Top 100, but it did peak at 83 on iTunes last week..

She's just not a singles selling kind of artist these days. Expect to see three of her albums in the top 40 by the end of the week though :)

 

Gutted for Metronomy actually, just got into that album. Ghostpoet would have been a good outsider.

maybe Coldplay too...

Number 1. But it wasn't actually a single per se, it was used on an advert before VLV/DAAHF was released and when it released demand was there. It had low sales that week though.

I see, thanks. I'm wondering about Paradise, I'd rule out a number one debut, but upper top 10 doesn't seem unreasonable.

I wasn't following the charts at the time, but I heard people talk about some chart rule at the time that meant Viva La Vida couldn't chart for its first few weeks of its chart run or something.

 

So in reality, it might've "debuted" at a position lower than #1 and been a climber (although, due to those chart rules, it wouldn't show that). I might be completely wrong about all of this though. :lol: I just vaguely remember people mentioning it before.

That would explain the low sales then. How likely do you guys think a similar debut for Paradise would be?

Thanks. :) Yes, that does sound annoying (and quite illogical). So I assume Viva la Vida was a pre-album release, but couldn't chart in those weeks, but then on album release week the album version (which did count towards the chart) got downloaded enough to get it to #1? I have to say, it's very lucky that people decided to download the album version rather than the single version that week! :o

I thought it didn't have a single version and was ineligible until the album's release because it was an 'album pre-order bonus' where you get it if you pre-order the album? I don't know though, I wasn't following the chart when VLV came out.

Sats are really slipping now. I think they'll have a Missing You style chart run, only with better opening sales.

Missing you didn't exsactly have the worst chart run though. Next week I only expect AFU to drop about 3 places and that is just because of the new entries of next week.

 

I am glad Mel C has gone up 2 places in the album chart, I thought she would have fallen.
