I remember seeing that advert and I asked my mum for it for Christmas and she never got it me. I didn't get my first NOW until Volume 44.

that's the one! My brother got quite a few Nows and I was always jealous because he got more pocket money than me and so could afford them. My first one was Now 41 for Christmas 98. Absolute classic. I have them all between 23 and 79 now plus 17 and 20.

Given there's stil two months of hits to arrive before the compilation's released, I think trying to predict the tracklisting is a little premature.
That's why its an "early prediction", I'm going to make another one closer to the release date obviously :P
I can remember just about every cover from Now 48 through to Now 60... Now 60 (Gwen Stefani, Sunset Strippers) heralded the start of the generic covers, and since then they've all pretty much looked the same.
Oh that's nothing. I've got Now 17 on cassette. :D (my brother has Now! the first ever album on 12")

I have that one too, it's all about The Safety Dance  . I also bought the CD re-release of that, but the sound quality was so poor :(

The first Now album I bought upon release was 32 on cassette, but I've since got all of them from 24 onwards on CD and numbers 1, 3 & 8 on record. Now 55 is my favourite so far, 38 was my favourite cover.

The state of chart music has improved quite a lot since Now 79, so hopefully Now 80 will be a decent collection!

I had Now 1 for Christmas on vinyl when I was 6!

Agreed. Now 60 was the start of them CONSTANTLY using red or yellow text, often with backgrounds of sky/clouds for the Spring/Easter release, or water/sea for the Summer release. Just go back and count how many times this EXACT same design has been used since then, it's ridiculous!! Only the Winter ones are actually half different or interesting these days. And I hate these thrown in objects they do in the background now - it looks plain messy. They indeed should go back to more scenic/colour-based 'plain' backdrops like they used to though, it's not like there aren't enough ideas for them! Now 77 for example could have been a good cover if they didn't ruin it by throwing snowboards everywhere.

I should really stop buying these things in general though. It's pretty clear I don't gel with the charts these days as the last few have been AWFUL but for some silly reason I feel I "have" to buy them, mainly because I know for a fact it would annoy me if the charts drastically improved and I thus bought more in the future but had a gap from 80-84 or whatever.

My favourite Now covers, by the way: 39, 43, 59. I think the fireball 43 would probably be my absolute favourite, always looked very cool to me!

Well, I like the purple lettering on this cover. That's all I've probably paid attention to when looking at the covers of the last few, the letters.

And yet I have never owned a Now. I'm always interested in the tracklisting (for hits of the time reasons), but I don't own a single one.

Oh, this is a surprising release, I wonder if it's their 'special' release this year a la Decades, Years, 00's etc...

It shows how much the genre dominates that you could take off about five songs from each disc and replace them with pop hits and it's basically a regular Now album

Shame Coming Home never made an official Now album, still one of my favourite songs of the year!

I don't think it is actually, it's not even a EMI release, it's a UMTV release, which is a bit odd.

And I agree, Coming Home was amazing, but at least it made a NOW somehow. I'm amazed that they added "Cheers" by Rihanna! I guess S&M would've been a bit of a yawn to add. There's a lot of very recent chart hits on there, something the actual NOW series has problem getting

Coming up as well as the R&B spin off is:

Now That's What I Call Classical

AND....

Now Disney

[No artwork yet, but announced on Tesco Website]

Classical & Disney? WOW. Talk about being low on ideas

NOW Disney?! HA!

Do we have a tracklisting for Now RnB? I'm kinda looking forward to that one now...

EDIT:

HMV have this...

Didn't you find that NOW 52, released in summer 2002, had quite winter-y cover art?

http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/4136FCVV5JL._SL500_AA300_.jpg

And I agree with what has been said here. NOW cover arts have been quite messy and generic since 2004/05, but I like the purple letters in this one.
