I can't believe Frankie is responsible for Iris chart success.

He is very overrated. Plus, I hate his hair.

I hate his hair aswell. :puke: It's too long and all over the place.

If Iris gets to #1 on iTunes, it could get a massive boost, since there'd be a lot of hype about it if that happened. Like they'd talk about it on the radio and stuff. I'm not surprised its been boosted so much, since it seems to have been a top 200 staple for the past 2 years anyway. And I think when people download songs promoted on X Factor, they do it because of the song itself, not because of the performance.

Moves Like Jagger looks like it finally has a shot at #1. I sort of hope it does, since I've been saying a lot that it will get there, and I don't want to be proven wrong. I wouldn't mind Sak Noel either, since I love that song too. If it's frontloaded, I think it'll miss out. But some held back songs have managed to climb on iTunes throughout the week (e.g. Promises by Nero), so it could do that. It should be #1 in the Tuesday midweeks though.

Thanks for this! The usual Heart FM-friendly pop and rock music this week then... As usual, I hate nearly all the songs used on X Factor. We need Cher back to perform a Wretch 32 song or something.

I think 'Loca People' will still get to #1 this week, as I think it'll pick up massively during the week.

Yeah, like David Guetta's songs do.

Also, The A Team should get its 13th week in the top 10 this week! I wonder if it'll get a 14th week, to match Love the Way You Lie's. Maroon 5 also have the possibility of beating LTWYL's weeks at #2, if it doesn't get to #1 this week.

Heard 'Stereo Hearts' yesterday on Capital for the first time. It's such a great track, should have paid attention ages ago when it was released. It's the same week as Cardle and Prof Green. Hope 'Stereo Hearts' or Prof Green goes #1. Much better songs than the dross Matt has put out

I make Loca People out to be about #3 or definitely no lower than #4 when combined, and as the pop bars are quite close anyway the EP sales probably put it at #1 or #2 for the week so far, it's only going to get bigger as the week goes on surely? I still think it's on course for #1 or #2 officially.

It's not really 'underperforming' - well maybe in the eyes of the people who thought it would beat the first week sales of One Direction but that was unrealistic. It's just that people can't seem to decide which mix to go for - the club mix, the regular radio edit or the token unnecessary AATW two minute special because Brits have such short attention spans. Luckily the latter is doing by far the worst of the three! I'll still never forgive them for chopping the instrumental middle eight out of Release Me for its UK release but at least the song remained around the three minute mark in length so for that I should be grateful

I'd prefer to see Moves Like Jagger finally get to the top but perhaps it's just not meant to be...

Well, We No Speak Americano, Promises, Gettin' Over You, and a few other held back songs climbed on iTunes during the week.

But the vast majority of held back songs peak on Tuesday/Wednesday and then start falling. Could go either way I think. It seems to be dance-orientated songs that can be held back but still climb over the week most of the time.

Yes very! John (the maths teacher who sang "Cannonball") was by far my fave! So I won't even be that bothered about watching the live shows tbh. I also really don't like Johnny Robinson, his voice is vile.

I wonder if the James Morrison track with Jessie J could get Top 40 this week due to cherry pickers?
I really want Maroon 5 to get no.1 but if Iris stops it I won't care because it's one of my favourite songs ever. Sak Noel can f**k off though....
Hmm, very interesting battle for #1. I think either "Iris" or "Loca People" could be #1 combined as it stands (or soon will be) but the former in particular needs its highest version to overtake Maroon 5 to get increased exposure before it starts falling. The latter is still worryingly close, it could do a "We No Speak Americano" but take two weeks rather than three to get to #1.

It's #620 at the moment. I'm not sure if it'll make top 40 though, since it's released on a Monday, and the David Guetta/Jessie J song even missed the top 100 iirc. But the James Morrison song has had a bit more hype than the David Guetta song, so it might do.

Wow at "Iris" finally becoming a hit. It's spent an amazing 159 weeks on the UK Top 200 to 20 August 2011:

If it is, I doubt anybody (in the UK) would buy it anyway.

Apparently a version with Mac Miller on. Who's only famous in the US, so nobody here is going to buy it. They probably won't even bother releasing it here.

Going to be close - so many versions of Iris/ Sak Noel in the charts - gonna be interesting...

Iris will no doubt drop off; but it is doing really well

“Moves Like Jagger” remix, featuring rapper Mac Miller, will be available on October 4th on Us iTunes and radio. B-)
