One Republic - Mercy, All The Right Moves, Good Life
Speaking of OneRepublic, I really wish someone would sing one of either 'Say (All I Need)' or 'Secrets'! They're extremely X Factor friendly and considering the link between Simon and Ryan, I'm surprised he hasn't forced it upon one of the past contestants.

'Set Fire to the Third Bar' got top 40 again thanks to a trailer to a movie, last/this year. Just imagine how big it could be with a popular XF contestant performing it! 'Hurt' would be AMAZING. In fact if Joe Cox did it, I think it'd make him a front runner...

I'm loving all these answers. I thought I'd get a hundred posts of 'Untouchable by Girls Aloud!' or something equally as naff.

I was just about to say! :P

Well, considering she had a slot on The X Factor last year with that very song, I think it's fair to say it wouldn't do anything with a contestant singing it...

The Feeling's 'Love It When You Call' could get a new peak off the X Factor, based entirely off its genre, high airplay and low peak. Not sure I'd want it to particularly but it'd have a good shot I reckon.

Maybe The Strokes' 'Last Nite' as well?

Kelly Clarkson - Breakaway

Sarah McLachlan - Angel (Rich has a valid point that it does get exposure and yet NEVER charts!)

Carrie Underwood - Jesus Take The Wheel (it never even got released, it is available on iTunes though, they added her 1st two albums when Play On got released)

Demi Lovato - Skyscraper (hasn't even been released yet :drama:)

Just a few off the top of my head, I'm sure one of the girls would do a decent job at one of these and could get them to be bigger hits than they initally were.

Oh great thread! ^_^

Christina Aguilera - Hurt It's been performed twice on XF before (Hope in 2007, Jamie in 2009) and has received a noticable boost each time but it deserves to be top 10 eventually. Why didn't Xtina and Rebecca perform this at the XF final last year instead of 'Beautiful'?

Pink - Family Portrait One of the most underrated songs. I want this top 10 now! One of Pink's best along with 'Dear Mr. President' but I doubt that will be used on XF. :P

Eva Cassidy - True Colours I love her version the most and it deserves huge recognition.

Michael Jackson - Ben I don't know how well it did originally but I'm sure it's last major chart performance was in the early 70s so it'd be amazing if this managed to go top 10 (again?) after someone incredible (Amelia) performed it on XF.

Beyonce - Broken-Hearted Girl One word: underrated.

The Script - Nothing

Maroon 5 - Never Gonna Leave This Bed

Sarah McLachlan's Angel actually did re-chart at #63 last year (I think after being used on Britain's Got Talent) but such is the magnitude of her flop that it took a few days before people were downloading the 'right' version - initially more people were buying a fake/cover version by The Celtic Angels

The Celtic Angels' version did ultimately end up selling less though (#83 in the same week).

An absolutely horrendous song.

Hmm I think Sail Away by David Gray could do with a better peak and I can imagine someone doing it on X Factor.
Maybe The Strokes' 'Last Nite' as well?

Hmm, I'd love it to have a better peak but I don't really want inane X Factor fans thinking it's an original or something daft -_- read the same for:

Green Day - Good Riddance (Time Of Your Life) - was unlucky to peak at #11 originally

Incubus - Drive - LOVE this and their underexposure in this country is criminal.

Just noticed this-YES! Fantastic song. I'm hoping they'll release it here anyway and capitalise of the success of MLJ.

Bon Jovi bed of roses

The Killers read my mind

Matchbox 20 when you're gone

Anything by Arcade Fire

And as im a huge kylie fan, id love a kylie week that would see breathe, some kind of bliss, bettter than today or the one make the top 10.

I wonder if Mr. Brightside could muster up a new peak (or at least one or two more weeks top 40) with a decently hyped XF performance? 'All These Things That I've Done', 'Smile Like You Mean It', 'Read My Mind' and 'Bones' could also use an XF push to finally go top 10 (although I don't think any of those would be well-known enough, maybe Read My Mind and at a push Bones as well)

Oh god, how did I forget "Mr Brightside"? :drama: I think it might have spent too many downloads already though since it's sold like 350k...

Chasing Cars by Snow Patrol :heehee:
Anything by Stacie Orrico. I'm still in the naive mind frame of thinking she's going to make a huge comeback :(

I'd say 'All These Things That I've Done' is one of the tracks they're most known for to be honest! Definitely more well-known than 'Bones' (and probably 'Read My Mind'), despite charting much lower.
