You seem to also be making assumptions, because this is the second time this week you've mistaken a simple comment I've made as me being 'bitchy' (general rule, if it's a post by Bré, it's not meant in a 'bitchy' manner). Also, I'm not saying it's directed solely at me, I'm just using myself as an example. Maybe I don't 'know where you're coming from' but I'm just commenting on the way your posts are coming across.

Well perhaps consider how you come across? I don't know whether you are being bitchy but the pernickity, anal retentivene facetiousness is really starting to grate. I don't really understand what the point of it is? Because it isn't endearing at all.

Plenty of other people seem to get my humour and what authority are you to call me out on how my posts are? Especially in regards to humour.

Apparently I am Aiden's dopplegänger. Reason enough not to like him :(

Oh aye, I have seen the odd photo of you on here, hadn't noticed it before, but yeaaah now you mention it. :o Luckily for you J-cake I rather much prefer you. ^_^

Amelia was okay, she's going to do so much better as the show goes on if she's still there come tomorrow!

Johnny was just beyond bad. Gary was spot on, he turned him in to a joke, he wasnt even going to be great but the whole production and what he was wearing was just a big joke.

The girl group were okay, have potential I guess.

Frankie. No comment. -_-

SOPHIE WAS BEAUTIFUL. LOVE. Beauitful voice.

Jonjo is a pub singer, if that.

James, has potential, like that he plays his guitar, unique, distinctive, good recording voice, but just seemed bored tonigh, i think he can be on one performance and off the next.

Little in love with Misha B. :P

The young boy group were okay, agree with Garys comments.

Marcus was good.

Sami was quite good, getting a michelle mcmanus vibe from her.

The Risk, alot better then the younger group.

Craig one to beat.

Kitty can SING. Strong vocal. But is she going to end up being this years Katie Waissel? With Louis behind her too i think so!

Devlin is a little cutie! 99.9% in the final.

Why thank you. It's most annoying getting drunkards heckle me with the name when I'm working at my local spoonz! He won Digital Spy's "Fitty of the Year" WHAT AN HONOUR to be considered amongst such ranks eh. A site that knows their stuff obviously.

Right, so I couldn't watch the rest of this :drama: here is my (extremely) belated rate:

Amelia - 6/10 - the voice is still pretty incredible, but I agree that it was slightly underwhelming - the arrangement just didn't really work as a whole

Johnny - 5/10 - and this years joke act goes too.... :D vaguely amusing, will be interesting to see him over the next few weeks

Rhythmix - 7/10 - I don't really like their harmonising, but I personally thought that overall, this worked surprisingly well!

Frankie - 3/10 - ugh, this overrated twit...I still do not get what all the fuss with him is, a totally average, strained voice and average performance

(I'm just starting to notice how ridiculously OTT all the Judges comments are tonight  )

Sophie - 6/10 - I was more distracted by the fact Kelly Rowland said that Katy Perry was the biggest UK artist right now  anyway, I don't know much about this girl but this was perfectly pleasant if a little dull

Jonjo - 3/10 - I've never rated him that much and this didn't really change my mind, it just plodded along with nothing really interesting happening at all, pretty much good bye to him

2 Shoes - 4/10 - Good Lord, what a mess! I do think these two actually have potential, but this was just pure karaoke

James - 3/10 - quite an uncomfortable listen tbh...his vocals seem really strained and his facial expression off putting

Mischa - 8/10 - tbh I find her incredibly hard to warm to, but this was very good, better than her audition even imo (even though I hate this song with a passion and its probably gonna have another rise up Itunes :nocheer: )

Nu Vibe - 3/10 - There is something I really hate about this group, I didn't rate this at all, but I thought this was a bit of an odd song choice and very average vocals

Marcus - 5/10 - 'this weeks number 1' revealed something you shouldn't there Gary? :D the performance? meh, he has such potential but the song choice was bizarre and everything about it was so 'Cruise Ship'

Sami - 6/10 - I still see nothing that makes her stand out, very good vocal though

The Risk - 9/10 - now THAT was how to do a great boyband performance! :o (take note Nu Vibe, One Direction) I had no idea who they were prior to this, now I'm interested

Craig - 8/10 - I like this guy, and I'm glad he proved himself this time, the vocal gymnastics kinda irritated me at times, but it was a great performance

Kitty - 7/10 - seriously, I don't get why everyone disclaims her as 'novelty' and 'gimmicky', she actually has a really good voice and sung well tonight, a dysfunctional personality is a better than an uninteresting one for me, but I liked Katie too so I guess that's just me :P

Janet - 9/10 - must...tone...down...looning.......OK, she did justice to my favourite song of all time and it was a brilliant performance, haters - the left is calling :D

so yeah, I'd rank them:

1. Janet

2. The Risk

3. Mischa

4. Craig

5. Rhythmix

6. Kitty

7. Sami

8. Sophie

9. Amelia

10. Johnny

11. Marcus

12. 2 Shoes

13. Frankie

14. Nu Vibe

15. James

16. Jonjo

so yes, Sophie, James, 2 Shoes and Jonjo seem pretty safe bets to go tomorrow really,

 Same, bless her she got the comment wrong that one was for Misha B! :heehee:

'Katy Whoooo' Kelly said the same with Amelia singing a Katy song, is she possibly saying it because they are better singers then Katyy? She did say she loves her though! :P

Also killed in America is a good thing, here we're like you killed it, meaning negative

Just catching up.

Amelia 'Billie Jean': Ugh. What happened to the 'Who Knew' or 'Already Gone' choices?! :nocheer: She's my favourite, but even I knew this wasn't very good! She's far better than that song! VERY disappointing. 06.0

Johnny Robinson 'Believe': Horrific song and his voice is awful. He really shouldn't be there! 01.5

Rhythmix 'Super Bass': I dunno if I enjoyed this or not. I loved what they did with the song, but my God the chorus was all over the place. They did not gel together at all on the chorus. The verses were very good though! 06.5

Frankie Cocozza 'The A-Team': I don't know how he did it, but he already made a pretty dull song, even duller somehow! I thought this would suit him, but my God it did not! 03.0

Sophie Habibis 'Teenage Dream': WOW. She was excellent with this! I love, love, loved what she did with the song and she totally nailed it. She's the dark horse of this competition! 09.0

Jonjo Kerr 'You Really Got Me': No, Jonjo. You didn't. You FAILED. This was a terrible song choice. It was so bland and nothingy. 03.5

2 Shoes 'Something Kinda Ooooh': They turned one of Girls Aloud's best party songs, into a dull, lifeless, karaoke-lite cover song! It was bland and I'm disappointed. They basically sucked the life from the song! 03.0

James Michael 'Ticket to Ride': Oh. It finished? I didn't even realise he'd started. It went nowhere and was completely forgettable. Shame really, as I really like his voice :( 02.0

Misha Bryan 'Rolling In the Deep': Oh good Lord I KNEW it'd happen tonight. I KNEW it! :manson: It was alright. She was a bit monotonous and flat throughout the chorus though. Her performances are all starting to have the same structure (sing verse, chorus, throw in written rap, chorus). She's in trouble of becoming a one trick pony. I await her "'Stay' performance" with baited breath. 05.5

Nu Vibe 'Beautiful People': Gary is right, they definitely hid behind the track. They were not a boy band at all. The track basically buried them. If it was the bootcamp performance where they were asked to perform as a group or whatever, then it would have worked, but not now. 04.0

Marcus Collins 'Moves Like Jagger': He worked well with a song that wasn't really in his range. He has a soulful voice. This just sounded like that 'Make Luv' song with Oliver Cheatham. I hated that but this was er, decent. He deserves a better song though. AND CURSE HIM FOR PROBABLY GIVING MAROON 5 THE BOOST FOR NUMBER 1 THIS WEEK! I still think we haven't seen the best from him though 06.5

Sami Brookes 'Free': I like Jark's explanation of her.

Sami is actually not very strong as a vocalist. She can belt with power but she can't do anything special with her voice in terms of moving between keys and she doesn't get the emotion out of a song. She's basically a good karaoke singer.
and tonight didn't change my mind. Ugh. Louis is TERRIBLE at song choices. 05.0

The Risk 'She Said': Aside from the awful song (personal opinion), it was a strong group performance. They definitely sound more of a group than Nu Vibe. They have potential. 06.5

Craig Colton 'Jar Of Hearts': His inspiration is clearly Adele. His mannerisms are virtually identical to Adele's. His voice ain't anywhere near as good though (shock horror haha). He has a good voice, but I find it could get a bit annoying for some reason. He'll do about the same as Paije last year. 07.0

Kitty Brucknell 'Who Wants to Live Forever': She has a good voice, although I could tell this from the first time I saw her. She gave a good performance actually. I hope she stays and we see her develop as an artist. 07.0

Janet Devlin 'Fix You': Predictable song choice and fast becoming one of the most over played/over exposed songs ever. But, this performance was really, really good. I did think it could be better, but I think I had high expectations for her. 08.5

All in all. Bar 3 or 4 performances, it was quite a disappointing and boring opening show. Amelia disappointed me! She is so much better than that song :( Sophie is the true under dog! She really gave it some tonight, to show people that she SHOULD be there.

Rankings based on tonights performances:

01. Sophie Habibis

02. Janet Devlin

03. Craig Colton

04. Kitty Brucknell

05. The Risk

06. Marcus Collins

07. Rhythmix

08. Amelia Lily

09. Misha Bryan

10. Sami Brookes

11. Nu Vibe

12. Jonjo Kerr

13. 2 Shoes

14. Frankie Cocozza

15. James Michael

16. Johnny Robinson

By that my choices would be: Johnny, James, 2 Shows and Misha to go. But I genuinely think Amelia is in danger! :o The praise for the other three girls were far stronger from the judges, but hopefully she stays and is used better! James is definitely in trouble for the guys. Jonjo is also in trouble and I think it's goodbye 2 Shoes.

So it seems I am alone (along with Doug, but he don't count ha!) in Misha's performance! (I've only just started to look back through this thread) It was flat and I found it really monotonous and just bleh, up until her rap. Her voice really got on my nerves. She DOES have stage presence though (we knew this since the first time we saw her though, so that's hardly a shock!) I was a bit harsh on her score (after watching her performance again) but I'd still only give it a 6.5-7 at best. Also her faux emotion at the end was cringy!

But maybe I'm just being biased against the song as I really, really despise that song. (Although I did fully enjoy the production of this version!)

Also TBF to me, I didn't put her down as the worst  being ranked 9th out of 16 is nothing to be sniffed at :heehee:

I think I said earlier that I was quite disappointed in Misha's performance - it was flat and monotonous - and I can't understand the way the judges were over the moon about it. In fact - if you note Misha's face at the very end of her performance - she actually looked a bit disappointed herself. I know she can do better and I think it was a boring and predictable choice of song for her. She didn't look like she enjoyed singing it.

I'm really annoyed that this Frankie fella is still in it this far (and will probably sail right through to the last four). We were talking last night about John Wilding and Gary's statement 'you're probably one of the best singers here' (but you're going home) - all because Frankie has a memorable arse and a weird hairdo - AHA! This MUST mean he has a personality! He does - a bloody annoying one. Its a shame that the judges dismiss the people at home - who may actually want to make their decisions on the music and the voices rather than 'cheeky chappies'.

Anyway - after last night - I'd like to see either Jonjo or Sami go from the 'overs' (I think Jark was right about her singing), Frankie from the boys (but that's just wishful thinking), NU Vibe or Two Shoes from the groups and I honestly don't think any of the girls deserve to go home so I'm not going to make a call on that.

Wise words.

I think that was the worst first Live show I have seen. The standard is really dropping other than Sophie, Misha, Craig and The Risk the other acts were just middling or terrible.

Kitty was actually good but seemed sedated, Janet was dull as always, I hope Marcus stays but his voice was not suited to MLJ-Kelly will be damned whomever she cuts.

01. Misha B

02. Sophie Habibis

03. Craig Colton

Sophie - 6/10 - I was more distracted by the fact Kelly Rowland said that Katy Perry was the biggest UK artist right now anyway, I don't know much about this girl but this was perfectly pleasant if a little dull

I think perhaps the wrong autocue went up, I didn't know song choices so when Kelly said that I thought oh Sophie's singing Adele! So when she sang the opening to Teenage Dream, I was like huh!?

BTW was it just me or when Kelly was all, 'Katy who?' , was Louis shouting 'She's on the show next week!' So I guess she'll be singing The One That Got Away?

I don't envy Kelly's decision, but if she was 100% basing on performance than of the four girls, sadly Amelia was the weakest for me, in a public vote I couldn't see any of those 4 being in the bottom 4, seems harsh to lose a strong singer when someone like Johnny is blatantly going to stay in.

The eliminations in the other categories seem more straight forward - jonjo, James, 2 Shoes though I could see Thousand. Perhaps eliminating Nu Vibe instead.

I like James, I thought he did good but the fact the other 3 boys got current chart hits and although he got something that suited him, there's no getting away from the fact, it wasn't a memorable performance, and I can't help think that was deliberate, as has his lack of coverage so far, getting through on snippets so viewers couldn't get too attached, makes me think he was a 4th pick sacrifice. I think Gary definitely likes him and appreciates his talent but for some reason he is obsessed with Frankie and there is zero chance of him leaving, Craig was excellent and Gary clearly aforesaid him so that just leaves Marcus but I think his personality will carry him through over James who hasn't had chance to shine. Given something more current like I Won't Let You Go, with his guitar, he could have been a real threat.

Early standouts for me Craig, Misha, Sophie, and surprisingly The Risk, masses of potential from Amelia, Marcus and Sami.

I like James, I thought he did good but the fact the other 3 boys got current chart hits and although he got something that suited him, there's no getting away from the fact, it wasn't a memorable performance

That would matter more if it was the public vote. Right now all that matters is Gary's opinion and if he thought it was memorable that's what counts.

If it was public vote though I could easily see it getting lost.

I still say that no public vote is a really stupid idea. 16 acts is too many for the live finals so I can see why they're doing it but why didn't they just use the standard 12 to begin with. Oh yeah, they needed a BIG TWIST. I sure hope next year's BIG TWIST is that there is no BIG TWIST.

If anything, the public should be allowed to vote in the earlier stages like the first Pop Idol did. Then maybe contestants like Sophie and James would actually get screen time.

That would matter more if it was the public vote. Right now all that matters is Gary's opinion and if he thought it was memorable that's what counts.

If it was public vote though I could easily see it getting lost.

I guess so, it makes it easier for the public to agree with his decision to vote him off, if he indeed does though because they'll think 'I don't remember that performance very well' and 'didn't he get bad comments?' so 'Gary must be right.' I think Gary will 'reluctantly' choose to lose James. I do think he genuinely likes him a lot, and made sure he was praised after Louis and Kelly were pretty lukewarm but ultimately prefers the other three, hope I'm wrong though because I think he has loads of potential.

So I've only just caught up with this this morning. The standard was generally better than I thought it would be; I remember thinking through the auditions that there really wasn't anybody who wowed me at all. But there were a few decent performances last night. I don't really get how anybody could be disappointed with Misha last night. I personally thought she provided everything Cher Lloyd promised and failed to deliver last year. My only small criticism was that the rap didn't really fit the song at all; I know rapping is a big selling point for her, but I think the production team need to make more effort to actually integrate it into the context of the song she's performing, rather than just have her chuck any old shit in for the sake of it. Good as it was, it felt very shoehorned in.

Other highlights; Craig (OBVIOUSLY), who did a wonderful job conveying genuine emotion. Samantha, whom I am resigned to the fact she's leaving tonight because she's not as headline-grabbing as Kitty, not as gimmicky as Johnny, and not a soldier like Poor Brave Jonjo - an outrage nevertheless as she's by far the strongest singer of the four - even if Free is a bit of a karaoke song, it was still the most confident vocal of the night and the only one not peppered with nervous trembles and shakes throughout. I also very much hope to see Marcus, The Risk, Johnny (never going to win in a million years, but we may as well have some fun whilst we're waiting) and Sophie survive tonight; they all demonstrated huge potential last night. Sophie in particular really has come from nowhere - I sadly think it might be too late in the game for her to overtake Amelia and Janet, but I live in hope nonetheless. Teenage Dream was quite the spine-tingling moment.

Of the others, I can't say I'm particularly rooting for any of them to stay. Frankie was nowhere near as terrible as I expected, and his indie-frontman schtick very much worked on the A Team, but I still find his personality repungant and a damning display of the sexism that apparently still exists in society (would people be appluading Kitty if she revealed seven names of seven guys on her arse? I think not.) Kitty is hugely entertaining as a personality, but in terms of her big voice, I'm not convinced she'll be anything but a sub-par Stacey Solomon or even a Niki Evans. Janet was someone I'd never paid any attention to during the auditions, but last night I found myself completely agreeing with everybody who has identified her as being Diana Vickers' little sister - except I also have to agree that I can't see simpering Janet pulling off tracks like Call Me either - even if Diana had a shaky voice, she nevertheless had more attitude and more energy to draw upon. Janet I predict will be very one-note. Amelia was the worst of the girls' last night, but that was purely down to her poor timing I think. If she can sort that out, she'll be a proper little Christina Aguilera (less-cunty) waiting to happen. Two Shoes was just hen party hell, and we already have Johnny to provide the camp factor. James and Jonjo were plain dull although I expect Jonjo to succeed a la Daniel Evans purely because HE'S A SOLDIER DON'T YOU KNOW. Nu Vibe are going to lose out because we already have a vastly superior boyband in the contest with The Risk, and they seemed to sap the joy out of Beautiful People - there was no sense of them actually enjoying themselves. Rhythmix were nowhere near as good as Buzzjack and Gary Barlow seem to believe. I think a lot of people here are (predictably) blinded by the fact that they're a girlband and that they were performing a relatively current track from an artist few would expect to see on an X-Factor primetime TV show. Beyond that the harmonies weren't terrible as such, but utterly NON-EXISTANT, and only a couple of them came even close to pulling off their solo rap sections. A stone cold mess.

PREDICTIONS

James, Sophie, Samantha and Nu Vibe out

DESIRE

James, Janet, Jonjo and Nu Vibe (or Rhythmix) out

I'm 99.9% sure Jonjo will go tonight. Johnny & Kitty definitely wont, and after Sami's performance he knows she will be popular now too. Jonjo will go.

Boys, its either Marcus or James, Craig & Frankie are 100% safe i think.

Groups, 2Shoes are going i think.

I have no idea what Kelly is going to do she has four huge contenders so I really just do not know, its probably between Sophie & Amelia sadly, but then Kelly loves them too. So hard.

Likelihood of departure scale:

BOYS - 0% Frankie - 0% Craig - 40% Marcus - 60% James

GIRLS - 0% Janet - 0% Misha - 50% Sophie - 50% Amelia

OVERS - 10% Kitty - 10% Johnny - 25% Sami - 55% Jonjo

GROUPS - 0% The Risk - 30% Rhythmix - 30% 2 Shoes - 40% Nu Vibe

I would say its more like:

BOYS - 0% Frankie - 0% Craig - 20% Marcus - 80% James

GIRLS - 0% Janet - 0% Misha - 40% Amelia - 60% Sophie

OVERS - 0% Johnny - 10% Kitty - 30% Sami - 60% Jonjo

GROUPS - 0% The Risk - 20% Rhythmix - 20% Nu Vibe - 60% 2 Shoes

I'd say:

Boys: 0% Frankie 0% Craig 75% James 25% Marcus

Overs: 5% Kitty 5% Johnny 70% Jonjo 20% Sami

Girls 0% Janet 0% Misha 80% Sophie 20% Amelia

Groups: 0% The Risk 20% Rhythmix 40% 2Shoes 40% NuVibe

Will Tulisa really get rid of Nu Vibe? They're younger than The Risk and I'm sure the producers were trying to turn them into a new One Direction. I reckon it's between 2 Shoes and Rhythmix (purely because Tulisa will want her acts to last as long as possible and girlbands never last long), although the bookies seem certain that it will be 2 Shoes...
