Rankings based on tonight:

1 Jaz Ellington

2 Tyler James

3 Frances Wood

4 Leanne Mitchell

5 Matt & Sueleen

6 Sam Buttery

7 Sophie Griffin

8 Joelle Moses

9 Ruth Brown

10 Adam Isaac

Joelle and Ruth are both good singers which I can appreciate but they're just not to my taste at all, I really dislike both of their voices. Adam was truly appalling though. Sophie was good but a bit disappointing, Sam isn't near as bad as some people make him out to be, Matt & Sueleen are really good when singing together but meh on their own, Leanne was a lot better than I expected tonight and I absolutely loved the top 3, very little in it between Jaz and Tyler for my #1 of the night.

Team Will are quite a bit better than team Tom overall there - three Wills in my top 3 and two Toms in my bottom 2!

I have to say I am disappointed with tonight. Only enjoyed Ruth, Tyler, Jaz and Joelle. All the rest were varying degrees of bad to be honest. Poor start to the live shows, but I think Jessie and Danny have the strongest teams anyway, so it is a shame that they put Will and Tom's teams on the first week, but it will hopefully be better next week. Ruth really did redeem the show though, she was outstanding.

In your opinion. :P

I think it's safe to say Ruth will easily get the most votes tonight. She's just so adoreably cute I'm convinced that the public will give Ruth plenty of support. Let's just say she's the equivalent of 'Moves Like Jagger' - everyone likes it...except you. :D

Imo, Ruth is the only seriously good singer in Tom's category. I've found some of Tom's choices a bit ho-hum but that's his decision.

I liked Ruth tonight, but I don't get the hype over her in general. Like, with 'No One', she was out of tune, and shouting most of it. But, I enjoyed her tonight, as it was more refined.

Ruth has a strong voice but needs Yvie style training but she could have huge success. Her styling is terrible though not sure why she always looks 50. Hope Ruth, Joelle, Jaz and Tyler are safe.

You don't say?

I notice you skipped over the part where I said I appreciate she's a good singer but her voice is just not to my taste...

My rankings tonight:

01 Ruth Brown - WINNER!

02 Tyler James

03 Leanne Mitchell

04 Joelle Moses

05 Frances Wood

06 Jaz Ellington - would be higher if he hadn't sung one of the best songs of all time and F'd it up!

07 Matt & Suleen

08 Sam Buttery

09 Sophie Griffin

10 Adam Isaac

Well, at least we can all agree on something - Adam was awful :P Surely he's got to go tomorrow.

Adam Issac and Matt & Sueleen in the bottom two for Tom tomorrow, then Sophie Griffin and Frances Wood for Will (Sophie's version of 'Titanium' really was poor). Sam Buttery could be a shoe in for the bottom two for Tom too - not feeling his performances at all.

As for the performances: Thought Tyler James was the real standout talent tonight, mainly because unlike Jaz and Ruth he doesn't go out of his way to show off (although I understand him changing pitch could be seen as an attempt to do this). Joelle and Leanna were both good too, and Frances' cover of 'Ain't Nobody' was alright too - but came across very Cher Lloyd/child-like, so unsure whether the public will vote to save her or not.

Sophie messed up 'Titanium' big time and Adam Issac's voice was drowned by the loud rock music in the background - why not pick one of Foo Fighters more tame tracks, 'These Days' or 'Walk' perhaps?

Probably because the results show *might* be pre-recorded and they will actually be filming the results later tonight whilst everyone is still in the studio. Notice if they're wearing the same clothes tomorrow night. ;) (ok, they could technically be wearing a duplicate outfit but it's quite unlikely really :D ). Then again they could all get changed in the next 35 minutes and record the results after that. We would never know. :o

Which means Reggie will be available for the chart show tomorrow :( It would surely have made more sense to have a shorter lottery show with the results show following that. As someone said, recording the results show - presumably in front of an audience - leaves plenty of scope for leaks.

I've not seen the show yet (will watch it after Match of the Day) but I had some money on Tyler James to win at 50/1. I know he's up against Jaz to win Team Will, but massively massively over-priced. I looked on Twitter and he had 22,000 followers, regardless of the fact some of them might have been from before The Voice, he's got more followers than any other contestant. Hopefully my choice will be justified :D

Oh, I wasn't saying they were definitely pre-recording the results but it does seem strange for lines to be open for just 35 minutes.

I hadn't even thought about Reggie presenting the Top 40 purely because I've not listened to the top 40 countdown on Radio 1 for a good few years. :D

So the results probably will be live tomorrow evening.

The results are pre-recorded, 100%. Like Strictly is. I don't think leaks will happen too much, I don't think they do with Strictly, obviously people will know but I don't think stuff is ever blasted in your face, it's easily avoidable anyway. Believe it's happening because it's more cost efficent.

01. Tyler James [Fantastic performance. His falsetto is extraordinary! He really deserves his break and 'The voice' could very well be it!]

02. Leanne Mitchell [That was a brave move. She put her own spin on the song and I seriously cannot fault her vocal ability. As the lives progress she's just going to get better and I seriously believe she'll be up there with the likes of Adele and Leona.]

03. Ruth Brown [i was setting myself up for another "Jaz Ellington" sort of post, good but overrated sort of thing, but she smashed that! Jennifer Hudson mark II. There's something about her voice that stops me from loving her though.]

---

04. Frances Wood [Thought she did a great performance considering it was the first live show. She seemed to put her all into it and for that I respect her. She could potentially be the underdog. She needs to control the growls though...]

---

05. Jaz Ellington [Do not and will not see the hype with him, at all! He's good, yes. But THAT good? No way! He won't win.]

06. Joelle Moses [she was alright. Although her voice sounds like she's constantly gurgling water or something.]

---

07. Sam Buttery [Meh. He's got a good voice, but his personality is very, off putting and annoying for me. He's just a slightly more bearable Johnny Robinson really.]

08. Sophie Griffin [i think the song choice let her down. Without a doubt. Although she's not got the strongest voice anyway and I've always thought she was a bit bleh and monotone.]

---

09. Matt & Suleen [Oh dear! What a disaster for them. Fell flat, hard. Luckily for them though, we could actually hear them, unlike Adam.]

---

10. Adam Isaac [Absolutely abysmal. He has no voice whatsoever. Really can't believe he got Will and Tom fighting over him like that in the blinds.]

Very good first live show I thought. It's nice to see it about something that isn't about the coaches/judges and it actually be about the singers/artists. Also, no breaks wahoo! :D

I liked Ruth tonight, but I don't get the hype over her in general. Like, with 'No One', she was out of tune, and shouting most of it. But, I enjoyed her tonight, as it was more refined.
Definitely with you on this! There's no doubt she was excellent tonight and will walk away with this weeks vote, but I think that's what irritates me about her voice and is what stops me from loving her. She'll steadily improve though and hopefully she'll be able to sing a long note instead of shout it...

I also have to agree with Frances/Cher Lloyd! Whilst watching the performance I got flashbacks of Cher's 'Just Be Good To Me' performance. (Not a bad thing in my books!) Also, does anyone know if/when we can download some of the performances, like they do in the US?

Hmm disappointed with the show tbh. Ruth was good, but she went all out on week 1 and she does the same thing every time I've seen her. Really powerful vocals, but very shouty sometimes. I agree about her styling though, looked like a bumblebee tonight. Tyler James was fantastic.

Very patchy show tonight, there was a proper lull in the middle. Hopefully next week's talent is better. Frances is a great sing but that performance was really not solid at all, I can't believe it's getting so much praise on here.

01 Joelle

02 Sophie

03 Ruth

04 Tyler

05 Leanne

THE REST

Here are the long awaited, by nobody, rates from myself

01 Tyler James - Higher Love (great performance, really glad that he didn't cover the James Vincent McMorrow version that I hate. He can hit high and low notes and perform well)

02 Jaz Ellington - At Last (he doesn't live up to the hype but he's still very good)

03 Ruth Brown - Get Here (it was great until the end when she did some vocal gymnastics)

04 Leanne Mitchell - Who Knew (nice performance, it was cruise ship but it was done well)

05 Sam Buttery - A Little Respect (it was better than I expected from him to be honest)

06 Frances Wood - Ain't Nobody (it reminds me of Cher Lloyd)

07 Joelle Moses - I'm Going Down (she can sing but it was very "cruise ship")

08 Matt & Suleen - Go Your Own Way (boring, wasn't good)

09 Sophie Griffin - Titanium (she murdered that song, still can't believe she won that battle because she was 10 years younger  )

10 Adam Isaac - All My Life (rock music on talent shows NEVER goes down well, and this performance is just more proof of that. Terrible)

Who I want to go - Adam Isaac (tom) and Sophie Griffin (will)

Who I think will go - Adam Isaac (tom) and Joelle Moses (will)

Joelle doesn't deserve to go but she was very average and she will suffer from the curse of going first this week. I could be wrong however
