Oh dear, the winner of the US version, Javier Colon, peaked at 134 with his album  The runner-up Dia Frampton didn't even chart with hers!

I do hope the UK version has more success chart-wise, I think it will given that the US seem to have given up caring about any of their reality winners lately.

To be fair, the singles released from the show (the contest performances and the winner's single) did better than the last season of American Idol. I hope the performances are released on iTunes and allowed to chart, the new talent being showcased (both as helpers and contestants) should be immense.

Ooh that's a good point about the studio versions of performances - from The Voice they were allowed to chart whereas from Idol they didn't. Plus they're more funny about their rules over in the US so I think they could very well be able to chart. Besides, if they're released on Saturday they will have fallen by the next Sunday so they won't be hogging number 1 every week, but it'd be nice to have one or two top 10 every few weeks.
Even if they arent allowed to chart officially id like to see them on the itunes chart
Scotty McCreery has actually been a lot more successful than other recent AI winners (Kris who? Lee what?), so I wouldn't say the USA have stopped caring about their reality winners. That is pretty shocking for Javier Colon though.

Glad that we finally have a proper date and I'm really looking forward to it still. Don't expect to enjoy it as much as the US version though, just not convinced by the coaches until we see them in reaction compared to the US coaches who seem to have such great chemistry.

We'll probably be seeing promos for it on the BBC very soon then, expect the promotion will be heavy.

Honestly cannot wait for this. I can see the first episode pulling in about 5mil. The following weeks will fall to about 3.5/4mil but will remain consistent until the final where it'll be about 7/8mil. Hopefully we get a The Script/Jessie J duet at some point during this! (Maroon 5/Xtina style - with a better song though, obviously! :P)

It would have to be a sensational song to be a Moves Like Jagger beater!

That sounds more bearable than a will.i.am/Tom Jones collaboration though, but who knows, I guess it's the logical step forward after Mick Jagger

I'm mildly looking forward to this, but honestly the Australian version seems to have the best 'coach' line up.
best line up? in my opinion they are all copies of x factor
Just how long has Jessie J been releasing music?

or Danny O'Donoghue

Why 3 guys & only one girl? - ditch Will.I.Am and get in Lulu

Can't stand regie yates. erugh!

Well he'd be a vast improvement on X Factor's Dermot O'Dreary or BGT's Ant & Dec (can't stand any of them)

or Danny O'Donoghue

You've already got the one customary "experienced" coach with Tom Jones though. And why ditch will.i.am when you could ditch Danny? I'm reserving judgement on him but the panel needs a bit of star quality about it.

Oh, I suppose it's because it's Will.I.Am is a rapper you don't want him on the panel?
To be fair it's not hard to make an argument against him being there seeing as he is not even British and uses more effects on his voice than any other popstar I know. He is basically exactly the opposite of what the show is supposedly about, no?

I do agree with you but I can guarantee him being a rapper is the reason why euro music doesn't want him on, he's like vidcapper there :P

I'd rather we had a 'middle ground' male or female in terms of age, because we have 'young and fresh' Jessie and 'wise and mature' Tom.

Haha, well I don't know anything about euro music except that he has a terrible sig so I didn't know! Will is a bizarre inclusion though. I hope his album doesn't smash now as a result of the exposure, I liked the old system of him needing to go to Cheryl to get a solo hit.
