Could someone please tell me where Foster The People - Pumped Up Kicks is combined? It is now #80 and #81 :)

Around #44, but it's hard to say as other singles will also be higher when combined.

Thank you. I would love for it to return to the Top 40. It peaked far too low imo.

I agree. It's one of the standout tracks of the year so far imo

Well, I'd rather chop my own bollocks off than buy the album you thought was going to be #1 this week...

And yeah Gooddelta, Beady Eye opened with 67k. Noel will thrash that, he's had two singles enter higher than "The Roller" (which I know was initially download-only, but so was "AKA... What A Life!") already and the album has THE 'lost Oasis classic' in "Stop the Clocks".

Yep Noel should have pretty big sales next week... Like you said BDI did 67k first week with only 1 real single that did anything.

BTW

Noel's album is now at #55 and #86 compared to Matt #58 (only)

Noel will definatly get number 1 album. AKA (What A Life) has held up well in the i-tunes chart for an alternative track, there's quite a bit of hype surrounding it. To be honest I think Matt would be lucky to get Top 5 at best.

Matt will definitely get to at least #2 and I still don't think #1 can be ruled out.

'Fix You' has been knocked down to #41 by all these 59p songs though :( It should be top 40 officially this week anyway, it'd need to fall 14 places from today's mids which I don't think will happen.

Jealousy has too :( It's held on steady in the mid 30's until the 59p songs knocked it into a sudden freefall. Now 47 :(

I would give my right arm for "Duality" to re-enter, I can't believe it's six years since Slipknot had a top 40 single.
by the way, WTF at the new Nero track. I heard it for the first time this morning whilst half asleep and honestly thought Scott Mills was just having a laugh. Why on Earth would you sample a track covered by Aaron Carter and make it sound even worse than that version?

I thought it was shit when I first heard it, but it's a grower. I saw them last night and it sounds AWESOME live, they played it sandwiched between "Promises" and "Me and You" at the end of their set.

'The First Note Is Silent' by High Contrast feat. Tiësto and Underworld is #161 on the album chart as a pre-order :o Could this be a big hit in the making? That's quite the POWER TRIO of dance music there. Must hear this song.
What an inappropriate emoticon. :P

I agree. I'm not sure if people understand what that smiley conveys?

It has been one of the biggest hits of the year...worldwide. Just didn't do very well here, for some reason.

Matt is slowly falling on itunes. What a shame. The winner of the X factor won't get a #1 on their debut single but that trash Cher Lloyd (who should've been put out instead of Paije, considering she was bottom in the votes) does. MASSIVE SHAME.

I wouldn't really say it's one of the biggest hits of the year worldwide, it's only gone top 10 in 3 countries (#3 in the USA and Canada, #6 in New Zealand), top 20 in another 3 (#11 in Ireland, #17 in Australia, #18 in the UK) and it's only charted at all in four other countries (#24 in Switzerland, #30 in Belgium, #34 in Netherlands and #75 in France). And since USA/Canada, UK/Ireland and Australia/NZ generally go hand-in-hand charts-wise you could argue it's only really properly broken in at best three territories.

It may be high in the best sellers of the year worldwide but that's only because of how massive it was/is in the USA, it's comparatively flopped everywhere else. Although I'd say it's been a massive success in the UK relatively speaking - a top 20 peak and 10 weeks in the top 40 for the first single from an indie band is a massive and one-of-a-kind achievement in the UK in 2011. It could never really be expected to be anywhere near as huge as it is in the States.

I agree, the sample is actually painful to listen to... but then "Promises" aside, they've been on a massive downward trajectory with their single releases since "Me & You".

"Crush On You" is complete bilge.

^ Why couldn't it have been as huge as in the US? I swear it's been in the top 3 on iTunes there for like 3 months now. Well, not saying it'd do that well here, but surely it could've done a bit better? I guess songs like that get better radio support in the US aswell. In the UK it's pop songs that get the most support on radio at the moment.
ah I was hoping that awful Sexy and I know it track would be nowhere near the top 40 :puke2:

It could have done a bit better but it's probably the most successful debut single of an indie band for years.

Maybe. Plus, it's a very catchy and relaxing song. It's just annoying trying to listen to the song on Youtube. :(

 Yeah, it's done better than I thought. Although, at the same time, there was really no way it was going to miss the top 40, since it got top 40 on iTunes on the album release week before it was a single. It's extremely rare for a song get higher on the album release week than when it is released as a single.
