How exactly is "AKA... What A Life!" STILL climbing? #20 now, it's like the least typical song for its genre given that all its various (and considerable) sales boosts have come during completely different chart weeks. It entered at #20 with no physical and no video, fell out of the top 40, had its video released one week then the physical (alongside the album) the week after and now, nearly two months after it entered, looks like it could repeak. Bizarre.

Noel Gallagher was on J. Ross last night.... He played AKA..What a life (Live).

So im sure that has added a few sales ;)

I did have a feeling you'd be a fan of Sneakbo, Eric  I saw it on the R1 playlist and initially thought it was an obscure indie band that R1 were throwing themselves behind. 'Sneakbo' doesn't really sound like a rapper's name.

LivePopBars is being annoying and not updating. I want to see how big the gap is between the top versions of RAAI and Earthquake (and see if Earthquake is ahead combined, although I can't factor in the Benassi remix or the EP obviously).

Yeah, I've heard it on Radio 1 a lot. It's amazing it got playlisted I think, since I think it's unusual for rappers without a record deal to get playlisted there.

Of course, forgot that. I heard he was going to play "Little by Little" as well, shame as one of the High Flying Birds' album tracks could really do with a boost - "If I Had A Gun" perhaps, given it's a really obvious next single.

They don't want the performances to chart because it might give away who's more popular or less popular.

So they are manipulating the Itunes chart then?

If a record has sold enough to reach position x in the charts (whether the Itunes chart or the Official one) it should show up at that position on merit.

Yup. It's stupid but at least it's the record company doing it, not the chart company itself (like it is in the USA).

I think I'm even more against it if it's the record company than if it was the chart company!

I agree it's unfair that the X Factor performances aren't showing up. But I guess that's the power of Simon Cowell... People always used to joke that he manipulates the chart, but now he kind of is, for real.

A positive of it not being included though, is that there'd just be so much complaining about it, if it happened. Like the complaining we used to have about Glee Cast, but much worse (and most of the complaining would probably come from people who don't watch the X Factor, and don't follow the charts, but just want to complain because they can).

A positive of them being included would be that a lot of the X Factor fans would get into the charts, and they'd get all competitive about it (which equals more hits for Buzzjack ).

Really? I think it's more 'acceptable' if the record company is choosing for it not to chart than for the song to not chart even when it should be (e.g. with Paradise).

Marcus not in the top 300, so has either dropped out or been removed.

Slightly outdated pop bars (RK are #14, so they're not THAT old):

1 Rihanna We Found Love (feat. Calvin Harris) 1.000000

2 Professor Green Read All About It (feat. Emeli Sandé) 0.855089

3 Labrinth Earthquake (Full Version) 0.803864

25 Labrinth Earthquake (Radio Edit) 0.130532

Labrinth quite comfortably ahead combined then - and not far off #1. His top version is keeping fairly close to Green so far, I hope it can still overtake it although Green will probably pull ahead if he gets to iTunes #1.

The One That Got Away - #42 - This is falling quickly now..

Criminal #288 - This seems to have stalled, is it being shown on music channels yet?

I can't say I've seen that Britney video anywhere. I guess because of the row, they are refusing to show it?

:re: 294. Are You Gonna Go My Way (X Factor Performance) - Marcus Collins

Disappointed to see Labrinth's second version stalling already (although 'second versions' always seem to stall much earlier than the 'main version' for some reason anyway).

Someone care to explain why performances by Johnny and Marcus are charting on iTunes - I thought the whole idea is that it'd give away who was receiving the most votes that week, etc.

About to purchase Pro' Green, Labrinth and Cobra Starship - would make it 4/4 with Rizzle Kicks - but 'When I Was a Youngster' is dire. 'Down With the Trumpets' is the breakthrough single, and sadly I don't see anything topping that - attempting to replicate the same success on the second single is a big mistake - I mean look at LMFAO's 'Champagne Showers' chart run.

What is wrong with Cobra Starship? They really can't catch a break, despite being playlisted by Radio 1 and stuff, their singles seem to underperform! :(
Dissapointed with 'When I Was A Youngster'. :( Really bland and weak compared to 'Down With The Trumpets'.
