I'm with you except I include the re-release of "Bohemian Rhapsody" separately as it was a Double-A side. (and Three Lions 98). The Elvis Presley releases and the George Harrison ones are effectively re-entries on my data

Nero - Promises

still in disbelief that it went to #1

also Roll Deep ft. Tania Foster - Green Light didn't have low sales or anything but was lucky to have been the main song that stopped Love The Way You Lie to become a #1

What makes Green Light any more the 'main' song to stop Love The Way You Lie? It only stopped it for one week, like the other three did.

Duke Dumont was also lucky to get a second week at #1.

Sak Noel - Loca People

It's confusing when old threads reappear, especially ones you can't remember starting because they are so old! :)

Stay Awake by Example was very lucky to get to number 1. If I remember rightly, wasn't there about 100 sales separating it and MLJ?

266 sales

73,402 Vs 73,136

0.4% margin

I think 'I Believe I Can Fly' by R-Kelly deserves some mention as a track that managed three weeks at the top on relatively slender margins. It was never the midweek chart-topper.
Steve Miller Band - The Joker, because Groove Is In The Heart sold exactly the same.

I was about to post this, then saw your post  .

Should have been a joint #1.

Rudimental feat Ella Eyre - Waiting All Night

This wouldn't have been number 1 if Daft Punk released Get Lucky on the Sunday of that week instead of Friday.

^ Gosh, I'm SO glad Waiting All Night got #1! But it's not like Get Lucky could have been released any earlier tbh.

I really loved Green Light at the time! However, I can understand why it'd be considered the "main" one. The other three that blocked LTWYL had huge sales themselves iirc, whilst Green Light probably has sold *only* about 250,000 by now (not that that's bad, but compared to Love the Way You Lie...).

David Zowie - House Every Weekend

There's something very fishy about this. How can the 2nd best selling song of the week be ranked at #1?

Yes, think it'll be a bit of a non number one in the long run? But it was the highest selling song fair and square. It's questionable whether Shine would have outsold it if steaming was properly included - because spotify isn't giving us any reliable figures at the moment. But we'll probably never know. Zowie won because of high pre orders.

in what way is it the 2nd best selling song of the week???

unless you mean that 'Shine' would have been #1 if the tracking period was Sunday to Saturday rather than Sunday to Thursday, but there always had to be a transition week to the new chart tracking week.

I agree that it was very lucky to make #1 though.
