This time on Sep 4 'All Fired Up' was at #7. Given that they're quite front-loaded I can see them missing the top-10. Hopefully they'll sneak in though.

'All Fired Up' was high in the charts though because its pre-order was listed as a Single, not an EP, so the pre-orders helped it get higher quicker.

Didn't even know Little Boots had a new single out... gonna check it out :)

There's two My Heart Takes Over EPs? That means My Heart Takes Over has two versions top 100 though!

currently #34 & #84!

There's actually three EPs for My Heart Takes Over! The normal EP, Radio Remixes EP and Club Remixes EP.

I'm surprised to see two versions already in the top 100, hopefully they can both climb though. :D

GaGa update

The Edge of Glory #30

Born This Way #115 + #291

Paparazzi #137

Telephone #146

The Lady Is A Tramp #223

Marry The Night #292

Don't get me wrong I like The Collective single but I find it funny that its flopping. It deserves to, maybe it'll teach Gary Barlow that getting UK urban artists to talk over a Massive Attack remix is never going to sell massively. At the same time I'm grateful we dont have another boyband charity single (well One Direction are going to #1 anyway... :puke:)
I hope to god 1D do a JLS and Rihanna gets another week, GBY brings new meaning to the word abysmal....

One Direction up to #10 already! :o I think they should get #1 then. I actually don't mind their song.

I'm quite surprised at how badly The Collective are doing! :o I STILL haven't heard the song myself, but honestly, knowing that it's a cover/sample of the original, I'm not sure it'll be very good. Also, one thing I mentioned in the thread for the song was that I don't think fans of hip hop artists (Tinchy Stryder, N-Dubz, etc.) are usually the type to donate to charity. Yes, I know most of them have massive selling songs (e.g. Number 1, Don't Go, etc.), but that's because the songs are truly fantastic, which I doubt this song will be. And the types of people that do donate to charity, probably don't like rapping. For charity songs, I think it should be pop or rock artists doing a pop or rock song.

I'm also surprised at how well Flo Rida is doing! :o Not just in the UK, but his US aswell. Anybody who follows the US charts probably saw how badly the song (which was on air, on sale) did there at first, but now it's climbed really high in the chart. Yes, this is the norm for songs in the US, but not for Flo Rida. Right Round still holds the record for the highest ever first-week digital sales (it even sold more first week thatn Born This Way iirc), so it's a bit of a surprise when a Flo Rida song a couple of years later debuts at #75 or whatever. I did think maybe people had lost interest, or that Pitbull had stole his thunder, but evidently not. Or maybe they lost interest in Flo Rida as an artitst (hence the low debut), but people started hearing the song over time and liked it.

Little Boots is doing well. I almost went to see her live in 2009 infact (back in the days when she was relevent ), but the show got cancelled. :( Looooooooooong story, and I think I mentioned it on here before anyway, so I won't go into it. But, even though Remedy was awful, I'm always going to remember that day when I thnk of her.

The Sats definitely won't be going top 10 now imo. Mid top 20 probably. Worrying, especially when this single is leading the album...

I thought charity singes normally sold very well on physicals, so a poor performance in the iTunes chart might not necessarily mean the track is going to flop.

The Sats now #26 and #69. This should place them inside the Top20, right?

That is normally the case but hip hop fans aren't going to rush to the shops to buy a physical copy are they?

It's still early days for all the new releases, Saturdays should be able to scrape top 10 but it doesn't exactly bode well for the album.

The fact that The Collective is doing badly has nothing to do with fans of hip hop not giving to charity that statement is incorrect. Many hip hop stars support and promote charities. The song if it can be called that is not doing well because it is terrible. I think many people were expecting alot and it is truly one of the worst songs of the year. People from all walks of life donate to charities but the song has no appeal to anyone with two ears. There is barely any singing or rapping in Teardrop it is just a mess.

The music channels love Flo-Rida and he seems to be on 24/7. I will never understand his popularity he is one of the weakest rappers ever.

I hope Rihanna can hold on for another week but with an X-Factor performance I am sure 1Direction will get there. I wonder if they will be singing live after Red or Black?

Well, I am a hip hop fan, and I support charities! I wasn't saying that's the case for everyone, just a lot of people. I'm just being open-minded and realistic here. A lot of hip hop fans are the ones receiving the money from the charities tbh. People who like rock music tend to be wealthier and older, so I think those types of people are more likely to donate to charity, even if they don't like the song.

And I did say: "but honestly, knowing that it's a cover/sample of the original, I'm not sure it'll be very good." in my post, so we agree with each other. I know someone's going to say "Oh, but hip hop fans do buy songs, because Number 1 has sold 500,000" or whatever, but that's because it's a GOOD song. This song probably isn't that good, so it won't sell, and a lot of hip hop fans aren't the type that think "Oh, well, it's for charity, so I'll buy it anyway", and you'll see shown by its sales at the end of the week.

Flo Rida is a very weak rapper, I agree. That's why he's popular atm. Flo Rida and Pitbull are basically the only two mainstream rappers that will rap on electropop/europop songs. Since they're the most popular genres at the moment, and it's a current trend to have a rap verse as the bridge in pop songs at the moment, it makes sense that they're successful. I agree, their lyrics are very poor, but you don't need good lyrics for that genre. Just a catchy flow that everybody can bob their head to. Most of the good rappers would refuse to rap on songs like On the Floor and All Night Long (because they contain no percussion, for starters).
