Simon was (and still is but I don't watch XFUSA) a masterful performer as a judge - he was truly mean but there was always that element of fun to it. And his criticisms were never unfounded. I don't think he's been very good at managing careers but he knows the business better than any of the rest.

 

I think Barlow trying to be a xeroxed copy but failing MISERABLY has made me appreciate Simon properly.

 

Cheryl was the loveliest though.

Kelly has been such a disappointment - I thought she'd be great, but she's just ANNOYING now.

I really hope Gary doesn't return in the next series. He is horrible to the contestants who he doesn't mentor, he's trying to be like Simon, but Simon added a bit of fun to the nastiness unlike Gary who is very rude.

 

Hope the judges next year are Simon, Cheryl, Tulisa (or Dannii) and Louis.

I highly doubt Cheryl will return though, as she has her new album out next year and the Girls Aloud 10 year anniversary :snif:

Somehow he was voted 'best judge' by Heat :wacko:

I voted for Kelly but in retrospect I should have voted for Her Royal Highness Queen Dannii Minogue.

 

Kelly may have put it down but Dannii was just amazing in every literal sense of the word.

Dannii was my favourite, but in all honesty, I didn't really "miss" her this year. I actually missed Simon far more. (Probably just because I hate Gary and thought he was trying to imitate Simon TOO much)

I really like Dannii she was my favourite from the old line up but I also like Kelly from the new line up, so I voted Kelly Rowland, I hope she's back next year, she's lively and I think it's cool having an international star on the panel.

The topic of "Hero of the Year" came up on Celebrity Juice last night and every panelist (bar Amy Childs) immediately said that it would be Gary Barlow (against Kate Winslet, Jedward and Paddy Doherty). Surprisingly, Amy was the only one who pulled up the fact that he's trying too hard to be like Simon Cowell, with everyone else praising his past glories and letting it completely pass them by - bizarre!

The general public does seem to be like that actually, Digital Spy named him villain of the year though and quite rightly! He doesn't even impersonate Simon well tbh ...
