The standard of these Music Week reports appalls me every week. There are so many mistakes, every time. Do those of you who subscribe to it ever complain to them?

Some of the mistakes above have been pointed out already, but here's another one:

"Ed Sheeran release Lego House up 46% to move it 7-6"

A quick glance at the chart would tell them that it's #6 ALREADY, so it's not moving anywhere. Music Week's writers are idiots.

I thought Pixie Lott was at #6???

Well spotted. You're right. So the MW report is even more messed up, because the text doesn't even match the chart update! What are they on?

If lego houses sales were 42k last week and theyre up 46% they must be pretty healthy sales for whereever its in the chart!

Midweek % sales increases are always same day-same day, so this Sunday and Monday he's sold 46% more than he did last Sunday and Monday, where he was only #10.

Someone needs to write to Music Week to point out these errors, it worries me that there are prevalent in almost every report- though this is coming from the magazine that thought Lady GaGa/RedOne had worked with Cher Lloyd instead of Cher, which is why I will not be subscribing to them anytime soon.

Singles

This time last week Syco’s Cher Lloyd featuring Mike Posner single With Ur Love led the midweeks, but had to settle for fourth place on the end-of-week chart. It is now in fifth position in the week so far, a place ahead of What Do You Take For Me, the newly-released single from Mercury’s Pixie Lott featuring Pusha T.

Two Top 10 singles are enjoying notable week-on-week sales boosts with Asylum/Atlantic’s Ed Sheeran release Lego House up 46% to move it 7-6 and Positiva/Virgin’s track Without You by David Guetta featuring Usher rising 38%, although it stays in 10th place.

Do they even proof read. Those two sentences clearly contradict each other.

When they say 7-6 they mean 'to 7 from 6' (i.e. 6-7 in normal terms). They always do this and I have no idea why, it makes no sense to put the new position first...

5k isn't a very substantial lead so it looks like JLS will miss out of the top spot with a pre-album single for the first time :o Well, at least it's a 6th midweek #1 for them...

Pretty boring singles update in general, glad to see it official that Labrinth is now ahead of Pro Green though, I'm hoping for sales of 55k+ for Earthquake this week :D And I hope Shake It Out can stay at least as high as #12, probably won't get top 10 though.

I'm surprised at how close it is between F+TM and SuBo, I would have thought sales of 'Ceremonials' aren't going to be too much lower this week than last due to their XF performance and I didn't think SuBo or especially The Wanted with how poorly they're doing on iTunes would be anywhere near them! I thought Cher would be ahead of The Wanted.

I don't really mind the 3-place fall for Coldplay as long as they have decent sales - I want to hope for 50k but that'll probably set me up for disappointment so I'm just going to hope they beat Gaga's third week sales (33,325)

Birdy is much lower than I thought, I guess she (and André Rieu, perhaps even SuBo although I doubt she'll get #1) will climb through the week though as their genres tend to be quite 'backloaded'. They won't fall much in any case.

Sigur Rós only just top 30 on the first update? They won't get top 40 then :( I hope they have decent success with their next studio album. Their previous five studio albums have each improved on the previous one's position (Von DNC, Ágætis Byrjun #52, ( ) #49, Takk... #16, Með Suð Í Eyrum Við Spilum Endalaust #5) but I guess unless they somehow come out with another hit single it'd be far too much to ask for album 6 to make the top four.

Where is Professor Green in the album update? Thanks :)

10+3

I hope Cher Lloyd will be out of the top 5 by Sunday. :cheer:

I wonder if this'll be the last SuBo album? I mean, I'm sure it's getting decent sales, but compared to her two other monster albums it looks a bit underwhelming.

'The Gift' wasn't THAT big.

Looking good in the album charts. Pixie's lucky to be #6 in the singles too. Hopefully she can hold that position.
I'm confident Rihanna will overtake JLS by the weekend. Florence and the Machine's album is likely to be doing well due to exposure from the x factor, which may wear off as the week goes on and provide SuBo with her third number one album. I seriously hope Cher Lloyd drops - she is the biggest pile of poop from the show so far.
Impressed with how Florence can hold off all the new albums, especially with all the frontloading. The X Factor performance was one of the best though, so good for her.

Florence is holding up well, susan boyle is doing quite well with her 3rd album also, looks like she will manage at least 3 successful albums which is alot more than many of the x factor winners have managed.

I think Rihanna will definitly return to number 1 this week.

It's more than any of them have managed - hell, Shayne is the only XF winner who even HAS three albums (and his third flopped)! Joe McElderry releases his third in a couple of weeks though and it's a Christmas album, so he could well become the first XF winner to have 3 top 10 albums (maybe even 3 top 3 albums if it goes well). Who'da thunk.

I must say I'm really surprised there's still so much interest in Susan Boyle. It's #3 in the USA as well (might be #4 on Billboard's chart as it's close between the two and HDD is sometimes out by a few k).

Ya, Susan ha smanged alot of continued success outside the uk aswell which is great for her, even as it stands i think she has already lasted alot longer than people predicted, im sure she at the very worst will manage a 4th studio album and some sort of graetest hits cash in type album, either way she has enough money made now to have a very comfortable life.
This is going to sound stupid but I feel The Wanted are under performing. I expected it to be at #2-3 after they had promotion on Xfactor,Stictly and much more and had 3 singles helping the sales.

As long as she sells albums in the US then she will keep releasing music. She might not sell as much as her first two albums but will still sell a couple of million copies

The Wanted will be lucky to get to platinum i feel.
