Amelia Lily - Think 7/10

 

I'm having deja vu. When Amelia sang 'Billie Jean' she was given this rock chick makeover that didn't seem to work. Now she's singing an Aretha Franklin classic and again it's been given a rock makeover. Maybe Amelia wants to be a rock chick but I'm not sure the UK public want a rock chick. Vocally ok but I personally think she was better last week. 'The Show Must Go On' showed off her vocal abilities much better.

 

Amelia Lily = 7/10

Janet Devlin = 7/10

Craig Colton = 6/10

Shocked that they just showed that Amelia found out her fate backstage last week seeing as they made it seem like she found it out live on stage in front of the judges!

No they didn't! They announced her name and the door came up and she was there.

 

Another SCREAMATHON albeit a bit better than last week.

Amelia Lily - It was a good performance but not a patch on last week unfortunately. I'm not that keen on the song either. She should be a safe bet for next week though. 7.5/10

Craig's performance was alright, although a huge step-down from the past two weeks, and I agree with the comments that he's becoming predictable. 7.5/10

Better performance from Janet than what we've seen recently. She'll never be amazing, but it was a quite good perf. 7.5/10

I love Amelia so much! :wub: I didn't know the song, but she performed it fantastically. Obviously not as good as last week's, but she probably won't be until she performs it again on the final :D 8.5/10

My X Factor drinking game now has a new rule. 5 fingers everytime Gary contradicts himself. It's already happened about 44 times tonight.

Amelia Lily - She sung it well in the first verse, but come the first chorus it was brilliant. The big notes were great again, and I really loved it. TULISA DOESN'T KNOW THE SONG? WHAT AN IDIOT. - 9.0/10.0

I will say that I still do not want Amelia Lily to win (although that was a great performance) - I still disagree with a contestant potentially winning having skipped four live shows, but also she really is just a straight cross between Christina Aguilera and Pixie Lott - something I don't really have any desire to see in the charts.

Ahhh. Amelia's song was one of those that I didn't recognise by name, but I knew what it was. I thought she was excellent (but that's to be expected from me)! Really enjoyed it and she's truly showing that she deserved to be there from the start.

 

Janet's was a snoozefest. Better than recent weeks, but I just don't get excited about her. She's dull. Reminds me of Birdy. I missed Craig's performance, so I can't say whether I liked his or not.

I wasn't as impressed with Amelia this week, it was a bit too strained this week. But, she's still the best vocallist in the competition IMO.

I am baffled, how can people not know 'Think'? One of the best Aretha songs.
