Danny/Freja and Maroon 5/Xtina? Didn't expect Radio 2 to be on board with them tbh, Scandi-pop and dance-pop aren't the usual R2 fodder!
Cocknbullkid about time she started getting support from the biggest radio station in the country.Go R2.

I know Radio 2 is the most listened to station in the UK but I can't see M5 and Xtina on the A list doing much for them in terms of sales and impact on the chart when it's released on the 15th August.

Radio 1 need to playlist it in my opinion. They snubbed M5 last year with the "Hands All Over" era. Maybe they'll playlist this considering it's a new song not from the original release of "Hands All Over" and it having Christina Aguilera in it. We shall see.

I don't think R1 would playlist 'Moves Like Jagger' considering Maroon 5 and Xtina's releases flopped last era. If 'Misery' could just make T30 I think MLJ could peak a bit higher but still no big hit

You never know though, R1 snubbed Robyn last era but are now playing her new single - so there's a little chance MLJ can get R1 playlisting ;)

It wasn't a surprise considering Radio 2 playlisted every M5 single from the last era. I wouldn't say M5 flopped last era. You could say they did over here in the UK.

The only thing going for MLJ in terms of being playlisted on R1 is the fact it's done well in the US (peaking at #8 on hot 100 and just entered the top 40 in US radio airplay) and is in the top 10 in the Netherlands, New Zealand, Australia and Mexico of the few I can remember. It's climbing quite high in a few other european countries as well.

No they didn't. They snubbed 'Indestructible'. They supported both Dancing On My Own and Hang With Me. IIRC both made the A-List.

I remember DOMO being A-List, not sure Hang With Me did but it was at least B-List. They did indeed only snub Indestructible.

Danny :o

Would have preferred Radio 1 playlisting but this is a start! Hopefully Ola can make it to one of the two playlists soon too...

Over a quarter of those artists I've never heard of!

Well done. Nearer a half for me !

Katie Cole - Sunrise

Pixie Lott - All About Tonight

*Scarlette Fever - Elated

Tony Bennett & Michael Bublé - Don't Get Around Much Anymore

I'll leave Dre to do the Radio 1 playlist as usual but some things of interest - to me at least on here this week...

I had NO idea that Katie Cole's Sunrise was getting any sort of UK push any time soon :o Likewise Scarlette Fever - it's a BJSC special! Not that anybody on here listens to Radio 2 enough to notice their 5 spins each per week I wouldn't have thought, or probably even 1 of the 5!

Nice to see Gaga get some Radio 2 support for once too, very crossover sound though so it's sort of expected.

Caro's first poor single choice in my opinion, she should have gone with Stuck or a re-release of Back It Up, I can't see The Other Woman helping out the album massively...

Oh, and Carrie Underwood :cheer: Not that I've heard the song. I wish she'd get her solo career going here though...

THE NAME CARRIE UNDERWOOD APPEARING ON A RADIO PLAYLIST  *dies*

That said, it's a crap duet, Brad Paisely's bit is meh, I only listen for Carrie :P Never thought Radio 2 would be on board with Pixie Lott though, also nice for Gaga (but it was inevitable, I bet Radio 2 and Heart will be all over You & I in the coming weeks) and the BJSC double! Also have a soft spot for Dolly Parton, but we'll not go there

strange noel gallagher isnt alisted since hes doing so well.also snow patrol is taking a while to take off with this single on radio 1/2!!

why are hurts releasing wonderful life again?

Radio 2 Playlist >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Radio 1 playlist

My tastes have become decidedly more Radio 2 this year it has to be said  The B and C lists are far more preferable to me but I think I'd take Radio 1's A List, Dolly Parton, Chris Rea and Glen Campbell aren't really my sort of thing!

Tbh the Radio 2 list is very good, I like:

Radio 1 is a lot better (Glen Campbell, really?) but Radio 2's playlist is far stronger than I thought!

I may have to start tuning into Radio 2 more frequently with the knowledge that Katie Cole and Carrie Underwood are getting played, amazing :o
