I'm not quite sure how, but we've somehow ended up with the best final four The X-Factor has ever had. Genuinely mystifying considering how much of a car crash this series has been, but there we are. Actually really like all four acts left, and don't mind who wins.

YES at Janet going. About six weeks overdue. Inevitable that she was going the moment she landed in the bottom 2 really, and thank god for it.

Not sure why Kelly decided not to vote, since the outcome of voting Janet would have been the same. She was clearly headed in that direction anyway until Dermot gave her the option to bail out.

Olly Murs has ruined The Muppets for me, and Jessie J oversang as per usual.

Imagine if Misha had been eliminated though. She'd have FLIPPED and snapped Janet in half in about 30 seconds. (A part of me wishes this had happened).

Let's face it, Misha's 'problem' in terms of not winning votes is that she is confident on stage to the point of cockiness. For some unknown reason the public favours contestants who are either slightly ropey or visibly nervous. They feel threatened by somebody of Misha's easy swagger. Although if she was white she'd probably get the benefit of the doubt.

Spot on.

Kitty certainly didn't! But I agree with you, it's a shame people let petty things like her alleged 'bullying' get in the way of real talent. It's a TALENT competition, it shouldn't be based on personality.

I just listened to Janet doing Under the Bridge. Awful beyond comprehension.
If they do a bottom 2 next week it's the most ridiculous thing ever, the only positive thing is that it's so close the winner could finish bottom 2 next week...
Jessie J acted like a right goon on Xtra Factor.
Such a shame to see Janet go after arguably her best performance of the whole series with 'Chasing Cars'. I'm sure Janet will have a great future and thank you for your amazing performances for the last 3 months!

Oh what a great result. Wasn't opposed to Janet by any means, but she was by far the weakest left, and her singoff was far worse than Misha's.

Loving the final 4 now! (but still Little Mix ftw!)

I think her problem is the whole 'bullying' thing personally. :P

True. As soon as Tulisa mentioned that, Misha was tarred. I think the fact she is such a confident performer is what makes the bullying accusations so believable and turned the public against her. It was kind of the same with Cher Lloyd.

I thought Janet's sing off performance was actually really good! Miles better than her performances for the last few weeks. Based on the sing-off alone it was really close. Sending Janet home was the right decision though :D

It was in the better half of her performances, I guess, but it was certainly not better than Kiss Me and probably not better than Under The Bridge. Misha, however, I was underwhelmed by her yesterday and today felt a lot better.

Also, it was Chasing Cars, and I'm not a huge fan of it, so that did tar my image of the performance a little bit. Janet did sound a little strained though.

A Marcus and Little Mix final 2 is possibly even shitter than last years Matt and Rebecca final 2. Oh dear.

I don't think its that all myself! The problem is her personality in general, people who were playground bullies always still have some of those traits when they're older and well the way she is, you can see that people would believe the bullying accusations made by contestants and judges. The fact that she agreed to do the sketch about her mum last week won't do her any favours either.

She's the best singer there no doubt about it! But she's just not likeable and well some people are put off by popstars being utter twats and it seems to be the same thing in the X Factor.

Anyway I only saw the results show as I've been out all weekend so I'll ITV player it Tuesday evening methinks.

Just some quick comments to previous quotes, then I'll give my feelings on tonight's show:

So have they re-recorded the charity single since Frankie left & Amelia re-entered?

The charity single was recorded after Frankie was elimated, and all of the finalists bar him recorded for the single, with only the top 11 (minus Frankie) having solos.

Am I just being thick or something. I thought the charity single was supposed to be the song in the M&S advert. ;)

That song is 'When You Wish upon a Star', and was recorded especially for the advertising campaign, due to M&S sponsoring all the competitions during this series.

Over the moon that Gypsy Janet has gone! She delivered yet another awful performance tonight, and I would have been very annoyed had Misha gone over her; I'm glad Louis saw sense, and I'm actually pleased that Kelly opted not to vote against either act.

Loved both Olly and Jessie's performances; the former's considerably more, due to the Muppets obviously (although I do love the song), but I was disappointed Ol' Kermit wasn't there. The charity single performance was badly mimed, but the VT that was played beforehand was heartbreaking.

Not true according to this;

Says it had been recorded. He'll be left out of the radio edit but they can't avoid him being on the CD.

The music industry is not a charity where you need to be likeable. It takes confidence and self belief to build longevity. Mary J Blige, Madonna, Christina Aguilera,Whitney or Mariah are all Divas with attitude. The British would never have a Kitty or a Misha B take centre stage and win, it is a reflection of thier own insecurities that they like and value mediocrity and humility. X-factor winners have won based on nice personalities and the public liking thier humble personas but other than Alexandra ad Leona it never leads to success.

More pleased that Janet has gone rather than Misha has stayed, she is likely to get an ugly backlash in the media and the crazies on DS.

no Kermit the Frog? disappointed :(

anyway, I did shamefully like Janet, it was inevitable she'd be out soon, just a same how bad she turned out to be - I thought she had potential to be so much better :( my favourite now would probably be Marcus or Little Mix, either winning would be fine just as long as Amelia and Misha don't

The difference is Mary J, Madonna, Whitney and Mariah actually had this 'X Factor' that this show apparently searches for that it never seems to actually find. Plus Alexandra wasn't the most likeable personality (always came across very insincere to me) and Misha B is better than her, interesting thought there...

The most important thing to remember is that the people who vote on this aren't necessarily the people who buy the records. JLS, One Direction, Olly Murs are people who people (particularly the kids) like as popstars but they didn't win. What the housewives typically vote for is different to what younger people vote for and actually buy records from. The winner very rarely goes on to do the best as an actual singer in the real world. Also no matter what people say its more about being a saturday night entertainment show then anything else so that comes into play as well.

Alexandra was very bland, humble and showed no personality while she was on the show in 2008. I imagine that is what the UK public liked. Misha is in a different league to anyone that has been on the X-factor stage because she can sing ballads, uptempo and rap and she puts on amazing performances.

That is true that the young download generation are probably not the shows biggest fanbase. I imagine Misha and Amelia will do better as recording artists than Marcus and Little Mix who have nothing to distinguish them or makes them standout.
