'Loud' went down from the incorrect 306,108 to 248,934. Still a fantastic figure, and makes you wonder how much 'Talk That Talk' can do in the same equivalent week. :D

She won't have the X Factor final boost this year though so I doubt it's sales will skyrocket Christmas week. I'd like to see it double platinum by years end though.

well she is on tour here over dec, so maybe she wont be on the x factor final, but i wouldn't rule out her being on a couple of big xmas special shows.

Oh gosh. Annoying to see Maroon 5 climbing again. :drama: It's getting ridiculous now. I think this will be their last week now though. The sales from the new version of the song will probably be balanced out by it losing the top 10 effect on iTunes.

ISTM the top 10 effect only applies when a song initially enters it, not after it's been there 3 months!

well i'm him target demographic, so i wouldn't even have to work for it :P

You have no idea how jealous I am

i'll take pics ;)

OCC just reported olly only 50 copies ahead now. rihanna will be 5k+ ahead with the last 2 days of sales at least, given she has clawed back another 2k+ yesterday.

The fact Maroon 5 have decreased significantly since leaving the top 10 does not support this.

That makes no sense.

1. By definition, dropping from the top 10 implies a decrease *anyway*.

2. The Now 80 version of the track has been climbing, and presumably taking sales from the main one.

I already have pics with him :)

Good news about Rihanna. Really hope she holds on to top spot again this week.

Mathematical equation, 11 minus 10 = 1. Probably not necessary for the #1, but lower down the chart Buzzjack uses this system to avoid stating exactly what the midweek position is.

91,916 - Loud (entering at #2)

53,772 - Good Girl Gone Bad (entering at #1)

32,243 - Rated R (entering at #16)

23,541 - A Girl Like Me (entering at #6)

I don't think Music Of The Sun was ever revealed, but it entered at #35... its opening sales would have been quite a bit under 10,000.

Rihanna's career really is the PERFECT career! It's amazing how she just grows and grows in popularity! Apart from my mum and my big sister I don't think I know anyone else who says a bad thing about her/her music! It's quite something!

How do we know this? Has it been confirmed that she won't be back? :( I hope she will. She ALWAYS puts on a performance and the final somehow trumps the first performance

Rihanna's album probablay a black friday deal on amazon this afternon. The page says "Upcoming Deal:

She's hotter than Barbados." :)

Might push her sales more towards 200k i hope.

I think the emergence off What's my Name which was top 5 on itunes on xmas week and no1 just after xmas show'd people there was more to the album than just OGITW!

That'll be the 2nd longest top 10 run of the century so far!

Annoying that Paradise by Coldplay has been in the top 10 of itunes all week but will only rise to no11 probs!

Amazon only have a set amount of stock to sell cheap though - with Take That and SuBo last year the £1 albums only lasted about a minute. Mind you, she's doing so well she hardly needs the boost.

I was hoping for an iPad for a tenner - I think I may have had unrealistic Black Friday expectations

As we move into the weekend, Olly Murs’ heart really will be skipping a beat. The former X Factor singing star and host of The Xtra Factor’s track, ‘Dance With Me Tonight’, is neck-and-neck with Rihanna and Calvin Harris’ ‘We Found Love’ at the summit of the Official Singles Chart.

According to the latest sales reports, Murs’ track, which would become the second Number 1 single to be taken from his forthcoming sophomore album, ‘In Case You Didn’t Know’, is just 50 copies ahead of the Barbadian beauty’s collaboration with the Scottish singer / producer, making this THE closest fought chart battle of 2011!

Over on the Official Albums Chart, there’s little change from Wednesday’s Official Chart Update – Rihanna’s sixth studio album, ‘Talk That Talk’ is still in pole position, with Anglo-Irish boyband One Direction at Number 2, while Canadian crooner Michael Buble overtakes Westlife to nab the Number 3 slot.

So will Olly Murs be the one to deny Rihanna a double Number 1 on Sunday’s Official Singles and Official Albums Charts? Or will RiRi, who has already beaten Adele’s record for the most weeks an artist has spent at the top of the Official Singles Chart in 2011, take the crown? Check theofficialcharts.com on Sunday at 7PM to see where your favourite singles and albums chart!

Midweek Chart update: Rihanna poised to overtake Murs

Rihanna looks increasingly likely to deny Olly Murs a third UK number one single this weekend after her We Found Love hit with Calvin Harris closed the sales gap on Murs’ Dance With Me Tonight to just 49 units.

Epic signing Murs’ newly-issued single had begun the week some 6,350 sales ahead of Def Jam/Mercury’s Rihanna single, but at the end of business on Thursday its lead had almost evaporated with We Found Love poised to surpass it, according to Official Charts Company Data.

Meanwhile, the title track of Rihanna’s album, which features Jay-Z, is making rapid sales progress as an individual download and is likely to show up as a new entry somewhere in the singles Top 40 on Sunday as might fellow album cut You Da One.

Albums

If We Found Love, which secured a third week at number one last Sunday, does remain in charge Rihanna is likely to achieve a chart-topping double as her brand new album Talk That Talk continues to have a comfortable lead in the artist albums market. It was around 20,000 sales ahead at the close of trading on Thursday of Syco’s newly-released One Direction album Up All Night, which has now broken through 100,000 sales.

I think Rihanna has got the #1 single in the bag now, with Xmas shoppers buying the album as presents, plus the cherry pickers.

I wonder how far behind No.2 Buble is? Could we end up with three 100K+ albums this week?
